Pirates of the Caribbean; At worlds End(?) Whatever one just came out in theatres lol.
It was actually pretty good, I liked it a lot. They finally ditched 'Miss Swan' and the dumbass Bloom guy for some REAL characters. Spoiler?: I thought Angelina didn't have much depth as a character, and Jack's connection to her was loose and unconvincing; like the whole thing was extremely contrived; they clearly did it just for the sake of having a plot to go with the Fountain of Youth theme but...Pretty much every other character in the movie had a more interesting story. Especially Serena!! <3 Other than that, the graphics were cool, all the concepts were clever, and cleverly put together. All in all it was MUCH better than I thought it was gonna be. I highly recommend it.

Homeward Bound. I was gonna go to bed, but I'm glad I stayed up to finish it.
Takeaways: -Even the strongest, most determined, most inspiring people/dogs need someone to lean on sometimes, and that's okay -Sometimes a learned lesson takes a spiked tail to the face or a trip down a waterfall -Absolutely nothing is impossible if you refuse to give up -Never ever ever let your faith waver, especially not your faith in yourself and most relevantly -Lack of communication makes even things done with the best of intentions worlds harder than they have to be.

Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides
WARNING: SPOILERS: Pros: - Jack Sparrow doing what he does best...being Jack Sparrow. - Blackbeard was awesome. Ruthless, fearsome, willing to kill someone to preserve his reputation...exactly what I'd expect from a good pirate. - Lots of awesome action sequences. Swordfighting's still as exciting as ever. - The plot wasn't as convoluted as At World's End, although it still had some stupid moments (see Cons.)
Cons: - Why focus most of the beginning hyping up the Spaniards when they weren't really going to be focused on at all until near the very end of the movie? Also, if the Spaniards were going to destroy the fountain of youth, why didn't they just destroy the two goblets right when they got them? For that matter, Spaniards, why destroy the fountain of youth, the one known existing link to eternal life, at all? Because religious faith should be the only way to attain such status? Man, ******** Spain and ******** religion. - Plenty of hot mermaids, but not one of them flashes more than a tenth of their breasts, let alone nipples. You can't have mermaids in a pirate movie without some n****e flashing, otherwise it's just one long jerkish cocktease. Bad move, Buckheimer. - Speaking of mermaids, the whole romance subplot between the religious dude and the captured mermaid was just cliched and stupid. And the way it ends is just so ambiguous. What the hell happened? Did she drown him? Did she turn him into a mermaidman? Did he die from the wound? It's never really elaborated on. If you were going to leave the audience guessing, why even write a romance subplot to begin with?
Overall, it was better than At World's End, but still nowhere near as good as Curse of the Black Pearl was.

@Charchar- lol if you paid attention during the Credits, they listed several sources; it looked like a collaboration of a couple different novels, using familiar characters from the PotC films. I think the Mermaid-Priest subplot was from one of those. Also, if you look up myths on almost Any type of mermaid...well they're known to collect Souls. Nobody really knows exactly what happens down there, though there are different rumors depending on where you look, but presumably they just live forever with each other in the depths. razz

.;Secret of Kells;. 'Twas fantastic! The art was incredible, and the plot was simple enough to be both heartbreakingly entertaining, and mesmerizing to watch. SEE ITT!!

X-Men: First Class.
We totally loved it. I am probably the biggest shipper of Xavier and Magneto ever. The sexual tension between them, oh my goodness.

It was pretty good. It got a little corny towards the end, but I liked it.
