Actually, according to my dad, when he was young there were preachers who said that what Cain knew his wife, what he really knew was a monkey, and that's where black people come from (mind you, I'm not saying I or my father believe this crap XP).

So, only white people are inbred, apparently. Does that mean Mexicans come from gibbons, or tamarinds? What about the rest of the word? What wildlife do they come from?

........ Which is one of the reasons I'm not a Christian.

Been pondering Adam and Eve..... Does it count as masturbation if you're ******** your own rib?

I ponder Adam and Eve a lot. I can't get past the fact that if they were the ONLY humans that means that EVERYONE is related and incest is unavoidable. NOT cool God, not cool.

Good thing I don't believe in creationism. Otherwise I would live my life alone and never get married or have children.

I believe in creationism. To me, it's logical. I don't know about you.

And I would rather live alone (other than my kitties heart ) and have no kids. But I'm 14. I'd rather think about today, not several years from now. ^.^

dear GOd *haha, pun...* nothing is logical when you're 14 years old... is what i'd like to say, for it's partly true, or mostly true, depending on who you are, but not entirely false.

Anyway, let me think back, i think i was 15 when i finally realized stealling is bad *not in the GOds way where if ye sin ye shall perish in hell* but in a way i learnt myself, the hard way, more or less. A time when i believed in things, or didn't believe, and when i figured out the *or my own personal* meaning of life, though it would still be a while till i would get a better understanding, though even now I Know That I Know Not.

My point being, at 14, nothing is logical forever, it's a time of great change *woot isn't that cliche?* you'll be changing your philosophy heads over tails, but whatever happens now creates you, as what happened before created the you now. Not that anyone can say, because people change all the time, no matter the age and whatnot, for the worse, the better, or just a change from one shade of grey to another.

... Just realized i sound like a dilenquite when i said i learnt the hard way x' D nay, not that way people, stop jumping to conclusions. And speaking about conclusions, what age did you think i was when reading what I wrote? or is.

Anyway mandetory thread is randomly mandetory, and this whole guild is so full of threads i almost got lost. But anyway, in case my blubbering is confusing anyone, i'd just say that i'm a philosopher, if that helps anyone at all and invites anyone who wants to chat all philosophically like :' ] if not, we can talk about jam, jam is good, especially raspberry and strawberry jam, on toast, golden warm crunchy soft toast.

and... i don't believe in your creationism... is what i initially wanted to say, but then I'd be making you jumping to conclusions eh?

First of all, God said no stealing because of the consequences. He's really trying to protect us, just put all of God's rules in that perspective, and you'll see it totally differently. And I have stood beside that fact, and I probably will. It's your choice if you don't think so.

And you are right about the year of great change. I was sick for six entire months with a blood disorder and I had my dose of chemo. More than once. On my birthday, I was given surgery (which got my doc in trouble. hehehe... ^.^) and I was in a mode of depression for a while there. It sucks having to go into surgery. I remember the exact dates and times: October 11th, 2009, 10:45 PM, taken to the E.R. Same night, 12:00 AM, taken to a children's hospital in an ambulence (sadly, no sirens lol), got there 3:00 AM. December 17th, 2009, 7:00 AM, surgery.

Meds:
Steroids (didn't work)
IV-IG (didn't work, and costs thousands of dollars, mind you)
Retuximab (worked, whew...)

On a happier note, March 26th, 2010, sometime in the afternoon, discharged officially.

Erin, most Christians don't believe that so far as I know. Some preachers just do what they do for the money, not because they actually have faith, and I don't see how any preacher would know whether or not someone was something other than what the bible says they were so most likely the idea of black people coming from monkeys was something some racist and, as such, ignorant individual came up with as an insult.

I myself happen to have Christian faith and I don't believe anything at all like that, nor have I met any Christians in the Baptist churches that do.

Scientifically, I would theorize that we have black humans for the same reason we have "black panthers." It has to do with an affect of the jungles in Africa. Panthers are actually leopards and as you get farther from those jungles you'll see the leopard's fur gets brighter, as opposed to being within the jungle where the leopards have darker fur even going so far as to no longer appear to be the same breed of feline. The effect of the jungle is a mutation in the melanin of the skin/fur, that is all. Some people also believe that this makes people more aggressive as well, but with humans I think that is more based on the environment they are raised in rather than what their skin color is.

This concludes my (hopefully) educational speech for today, but considering this theory I have to wonder; what was the original human's skin color? The theory would suggest the first human was not black, but that doesn't necessarily mean he/she was white either.

I know. Considering the time and area he was from, I'm not terribly surprised at the thinking. It sounded then, and still sounds like, a desperate mind trying to justify itself in racism. My own personal theory on skin pigmentation has to deal with relative light exposure in the areas where humans developed (anthropology FTW!), but I digress.

I did not mean to offend Christians with the anecdote, merely give a headdesk moment at the oddness of Deep South thought.

I wasn't insulted, I just wanted to share my views. Sometimes I get in the mood to do things like that and can go rambling on for much longer than is necessary about something irrelevant or already settled. It's not from negative feelings or anything of the sort, it's just a mood I sometimes get into.

Another post for another day :" 0

@Sapphirianna: I said not in the gods way because most people pray to, or stop doing things, because of their fear of punishment via that god and if they ever do, instead pray to them to avoid 'punishment', etc, even though the point of following those ruels isn't to avoid harsh judgment *even though they put alot of emphasis on it...* just trying to say i am not one of those types of people.

I don't need a god to tell me it's wrong to steal, i can understand that morally now by myself without being threatened thanx :" ]

Sounds rough, but i didn't mean physical change, that's a bit different and can happen any time any where, much more obvious then the mental change, aka the change of the mind.

*Off to get banana-honey-pancake recipe :' D *

Oh, they're not really arguing... well, I see no real anger or scorn in their statements at least. They're just stating opinions, debating if you will.

I do believe in Creationism, I am just not sure exactly how God chose to do it. If He (She) used evolution, then I am OK with that, but at the present time, I do not believe my ancestors were monkeys, or amoebas.

Sometimes I wonder if the ancients did see aliens and describe them as gods and angels. Then aliens would have seeded the planet.

Still. I believe in a Creator , because even if aliens put us here, then I still have to ask how the aliens got here. wink
