Arielle's eyebrows pinched in confusion. A teacher? The loss of a teacher--even a well-liked one--had produced such a deep reaction in Lin? It didn't seem normal, if one was to ask Arielle, but it did match up with what Ialo had told her earlier: a student and a teacher had both died that weekend. "...Alright. Were you aware of the pendant of spring water and its qualities? Do you know what happened to it?"

Alright Ophi, play it cool! She doesn't expect me to be omnipotent. And I most certainly am not... he thought to himself, as he shifted in his seat.
"I know she had it," he said, thinking. "And I know what it does. And I know it broke, but I honestly don't know how."

"She was with him when he died," Ophiuchus said slowly, thinking. "It would make sense then, if her pendant broke, and the water killed the teacher." Was that saying too much? He hoped not.

Arielle nearly froze. The... the water had killed her teacher? The spring water? It shouldn't have affected--no. She refused to believe that--she would have to ask, wouldn't she?
"If you don't mind... just what was her teacher?"

Almost imperceptibly, Arielle's lips pursed. She knew when someone was evading a question, and she knew that Ophiuchus had just done so. "Why did the spring water cause his death?"

Ophiuchus raised an eyebrow. "Why else? Elven spring water destroys dark creatures. It's honestly a shame, he was a well-liked teacher."

Arielle's hand tightened on the pen she was holding. A dark creature?? A dark creature had taught her student? And Lin had grown close to him? What was the world coming to when evil creatures were respected by respectable people? When they were allowed to aid in the education of white magic-users?
"Leave." Her voice was quiet and shook slightly. How? How could such a kind person, such a light person ever have gotten along with a dark one?

Akira giggled and gave the huge canine a good strong pat on the back, smiling warmly at him. She knew he was obviously trying to distract her from eavesdropping, but she couldn't blame him, he was just too likable!!
Nice to meet you, Etzel! I'm Akira! she replied with a bark herself, heck, why not? It was fun!
But her smile quickly turned into a frown when realization hit her hard; she couldn't hear a bloody thing outside of the room!!
"Oh come ON!" she growled, shaking her head and signing heavily.
"Well, that's just great..." she mumbled as her ears fell a little and she continued to brush the animals, finding the motion very relaxing, but her heart wasn't really in it anymore.
She also realized that soon enough Evemore would arrived and they'd be in this room, together, to brush the animals...Unless Her best friend's punishment would be different?

Secret Kirari Cuwen Transfixed completely, Ever slowly lowered her head to the cafeteria table so that she would be eye-level with the Sphinx. Her eyes were huge and filled with awe and excitement. She thought of the words in her mind and hoped that it would work, that the Sphinx would get them. She thought, "Can you hear me, too?"Altan inclined his head. Yes, I can. You are very entertained, are you not? It was a pleasant comment, and Altan continued to purr throughout so as to convey that he held no harsh feelings or ill intentions. Sometimes, people would think he did. It wasn't very fun. ((Here's a picture of a cat who is relatively the same size as I picture Altan to be:  )) {{Ack! Can't believe I missed this post. Sorry Secret!!}} Evermore smiled brightly and nodded. "Heck yes I am! You can hear me when I think of something I want to say to you! That is so cool!" She was speaking out loud now so that Aurora could heat, too, and not feel as if she was being left out of the conversation. But then, Ever's eyes glanced upon the clock in the cafeteria and she gasped when she saw it was 7:15. So much for being early! Ever quickly got up from the table. "I'm sorry, but I have to go or I'm going to be late! It was so wonderful talking with you, BOTH of you! I will see you tomorrow!" She smiled brightly at them and then took off, pausing outside of the cafeteria to straighten herself up.

Altan just chuckled at Evermore, and his tail twitched as she left, almost as if he were waving at her. Yes, we'll see you then.
Aurora nodded, waving. "Alright. So long for now."

As Ever straightened her uniform and stretched herself, she winced slightly at the tugging sensation on her back and waist. Ever reached down with a small smirk on her face to softly rub her waist where Ares' hands had left just a few small bruises, at least that's how it felt. When she did so, however, her smirk turned to a look of confusion when she felt something in her waistband.
Ever fumbled along the hard object and then managed to pull it out. She brought it up in front of her face and gasped when she saw that it was a locket on a long beautiful chain. It was gorgeous, but it caused a fierce glare to appear on Ever's face. Her hair was beginning to change to red again and so were her eyes.
Dammit all to hell!! Ares had planted a tracking device on her! The entire time, he just wanted to put a lo jack on her to keep tabs on her! That selfish, egotistical, son of a God!
