Maxi wiped the blood from his eyes as he heard laughter echoing through his head. He was shocked by the laugh and glanced over to Portabello to see that he has leaped to the top of the mountain. His eyes widen and before he knew what he was doing, he was already climbing the mountain with little Lee following close behind. The breloom's trainer is in deep trouble and Maxi was concerned. "Lee we must hurry. Leap onto my shoulders!!"The scuffle pokemon nodded and hopped on to his master. Maxi checked to see his buddy was good and he began to climb and leap towards the cavern where Portabello entered. The trainer was in awe of the breloom's strength and had to ask the pokemon when this was over to train, but now was not the time to fret on such things. I hope the trainer is okay though I must admit the laugh I heard was not natural... Maxi had a bad feeling building up in his stomach, but he must stay true with his words.

Speeding towards the top, Maxi and Lee noticed a Machop near the top. His eyes staring straight into Lee's The tyrogue looked at him and with a piercing glare he gave the strong pokemon a malicious grin. The Machop frowned and ran into the cavern. Maxi made a note of the pokemon and continued his climb. When he reached the top he put Lee down and looked into the entrance. He did not here anymore laughter and he did not see Portabello. "Well this is a bit creepy, but we have been through worse. You ready Lee?" The tyrogue fixed his mantle and gave him a nod. The young black belt turned to the entrance and entered hoping that things were good.

Be wary Sir Maxi! The Breloom warned the boy. If he had to resort to subduing his master, he didn't want to have to worry about the other boy's safety. Stay behind me. Portabello crept inside the cavern, now completely dark without Nitro's tail to light it. It was eerily quiet save for a small giggle that echoed along the walls. Master? he called out, his voice trembling. Only silence followed, until:

Just smile and laugh...just smile and laugh.heh-heh.....just smile and laugh......just smile and laugh......just smile and laugh...just like mom told me......just smile and laugh...

Master! the Breloom called out again. It's alright. It's me, Portabello. I've brought a friend, someone who can keep you company.

"A f-friend?" replied the boy. Portabello could not ascertain where it came from, the walls catching Mike's words and throwing them around like the wind. "Is it perhaps, Kassie?"

No sir, not Miss Kasiya. Someone new. Someone like you. I think you'll like him.

"Sss-someone like me? Hyeh-heh! Someone like me?! There's no one like me..." He paused. "But...this one does seem different..." The voice was coming from somewhere else now; he had moved. Portabello backed closer to Maxi.

"Hmm-hmm-hmm..." chuckled the boy. "Friend, do you kn-know what my mother would tell me whenever I'd get sad? Whenever I'd get lonely? Whenever I'd n-n-need a pick me up?"

Just smile and laugh...just smile and laugh...

"With a loving smile of her own, she'd tell me 'Just smile and laugh honey!'" He chuckled. "'Laughter is the best medicine, and you're just so handsome when you smile. My little handsome boy...' She'd call me handsome, give me a kiss, I'd smile and everything would be better. I-I finally understand now, what she meant...what she was trying to tell me..."

Master! Portabello shouted. Come down so we can talk. Everything is going to be alright master!

S-smile. Laugh. L-laugh...Just smile! Laugh...
"I get it now...what s-she was t-t-trying to tell me!" The voice was louder now. He was right above them!
Sir Maxi, watch out, he's-!
"Just smile and laugh! HYEAAA-HAHAHAHA! THEN EVERYONE WILL LIKE ME!" With am ear-piercing shriek, Mike dropped from the ceiling and descended upon his new friend.

Nova was quite thrilled when Pan acknowledged her, but his yawning seemed to be contagious and the little Charmander suddenly felt a little sleepy. After all she'd just battled too and a nice rest seemed like a good idea. Seeing her Charmander's yawn Kasiya smiled and kissed the top of Nova's head before recalling her into her Pokeball.

"What about helping you with a badge?" she asked, looking towards the two boys curiously. Keegan didn't seem to want to bring it up just now so she left it at that, but she knew there was an interesting story there, and she'd get it from them at some point. "Okay, we'll be along in a minute," she said, waving to Dante as he headed off. It's good to see that he can be a trainer again, she thought, though she wondered if that meant he'd want to take Levi back, but after she thought about it a bit, she realized that Dante would probably never do that to her. "Oh, uh, right," she said, a little surprised that Keegan was already wanting to go to the Pokemon Center. I guess he's not gonna tell me what was up with him at the center earlier, when he set off the fire alarm, she thought with a sigh, and she followed after him.

She couldn't help but get that same feeling she'd had both earlier in the morning and last night as she walked along. It was the feeling that things still weren't right between them, though it wasn't for the lack of trying. Okay, that's it, she thought, nodding affirmatively. I've made up my mind! She jogged a little to catch up with the redhead, and though she wasn't sure how he'd react, she linked her arm through his, and smiled up at him. I will make things right, she told herself. I know I will!

When they arrived a the center Kasiya could see that Dante was already waiting for them, and that his Porygon was, as well. Unable to keep herself from grinning with excitement she dashed up to the front desk. "Hi Nurse Joy," she said, as though she hadn't seen the woman in ages. "Could you heal my Charmander for me, please?" she asked, holding out Nova's Pokeball for her.

"Of course. I will take good care of her," the pink-haired nurse said, accepting the red and white sphere. "This shouldn't take too long."

"Thank you," Kasiya said, giving a polite bow before she turned back to Dante and Turn A. "You guys ready to do this?" she asked excitedly, grabbing a Pokeball from her belt. She knew just which of her Pokemon to temporarily trade to him, and she made her way over to the trade machine, perhaps a little more anxious about the trade than Dante was.

It was inevitable. Maybe it was just that he had had to remove himself so fully from everything that he had held familiar. Maybe it was his anxiety, or more prominently (at least as of late) his withdrawals. Together he and Teagan had made a decision to trek back to Will's hometown, because any way he looked at it he just felt that he was too far gone. He needed some sense of grounding, however brief, just to find his bearings. Maybe Snowpoint would provide some answers.

Will hadn't been home since he'd cleaned up. He hadn't even talked to them, not that he ever really did before. Still, the absence certainly left something to be desired. He was scared, thinking back to those dark times, waking on floors, outside, in hospital beds. He thought of the arguments that he had, of being disowned. The port was busy as usual, people flooding in and out. Dozens of Pelipper and Wingull soared overhead, cluttering rooftops. The cruise ship loomed above them, larger than even their drawbridge. Together, he and Teagan boarded the ferry, each coughing up $50 for the tickets. Will walked over to the side of the ship.

Amber waves crashed against the side of the boat, the sun slowly descending into the water out at the horizon. The boat kicked off slowly, coasting effortlessly over water. Will looked out, noticing the placid calmness of the seas and tried to internalize it. He turned and saw Teagan, she too was looking out at the water, and she looked equally restless. His issues, as rampant as they were, momentarily faded. He walked up to her, gently touching her arm, “Hey, you okay?” "I'm nervous." This was really the first time that Will had ever seen Teagan anything other than happy. Seeing her upset distressed him greatly. "About what?" he asked. "A bunch of stuff. I don't know, kiddo," she said. "I'm nervous for you, this must be terrifying for you. I'm scared because I don't know what to expect now. I'm afraid to meet your parents. I'm afraid for us to go home because I'm afraid that this is going to unearth something in you. Something that you've hidden and fought off, something dark." Will frowned, "Well, you've seen me at my darkest." He could see tears forming in her eyes. "Yes, but I couldn't stand to see you there again. You were broken Will, you were gone. I'm so scared... If that were to happen again... I don't even know where I'd be." Will realized then that Teagan legitimately needed him. His unbelievable dependence wasn't unrequited. He hugged her, pulling her head up against his chest. She squeezed even tighter, letting tears flow. Will looked down at her, "It'll be okay. I'll be okay."

Hours later, the ferry finally made its approach towards Snowpoint's port. Hail sprayed every which way in the hectic winds. Chunks of ice clustered towards the bow, and they could really feel the boat straining under the pressure. After docking, they stepped out into the knee deep snow, both sporting thick furry jackets. Will tossed his pokeball out into the snow. Charlie jumped out, and bounced around in the snow. Charlie was excited by the snow; he giddily ran around and buried himself in snow. From the port, they headed north up into town. The constant warmth of Canalave made the transition that much tougher. In walking through town, Will associated past memories with various houses.

They stepped up to his door, coughing nervously, he knocked on the door. His mother opened the door just long enough to recognize who was standing there, and in seeing Will, she slammed the door. Will stood there on the doorstep stunned. He didn't really know what he was expecting going in, but it wasn't anything as hostile as this. "Can you let us in mom? It's freezing out here."
"Why are you here?" Her voice was almost as cold as the hail stinging his face.
"I've cleaned up mom; I'm just looking to catch up. Is that really so much to ask?"
"You're not welcome here. Go find one of your dope-fiend friends. God knows the towns full of 'em."
Will frowned at Teagan. He turned away and walked down the stairs slowly, he felt incredibly alone. He kicked snow, a seemingly useless expenditure, but it made him feel slightly better nonetheless. He felt incredibly isolated. He wasn't angry, but he certainly wasn't happy either. He was left in a strange sort of pensive mood. This is awesome, he thought, I don’t have anywhere. There is absolutely nowhere that I can call home.
Teagan walked up to him, “Let’s get your mind off things,” she said, suddenly excited. She took him by the arm and ran off towards a clearing. Seeing her happy helped to alleviate his mood, he loved it so much. It seemed as though no matter how broken or depressed he got she was always there.

They stopped in a patch of grass covered mostly in snow, hail still racing overhead.
“You’ve never caught a pokemon, have you kiddo?” Teagan asked.
“Well, no…” Will started.
“Cool. I’mma teach you,” Teagan said, holding an empty pokeball out to him. “It’ll be fun kiddo, c’mon.”
Will looked out at the field, straining to see through the hail. Off to one side he spotted a small pokemon, it was shaped like a triangle and had a bright orange back. He reached into to his bag and consulted his pokedex for the first time. It beeped back at him, “Snowrunt… Snow hat pokemon… #361.”
“Is that the one?” Teagan asked.
“Yeah, I think so. So what now?”
Teagan laughed, “Fight her, but don’t beat her. Just get her health down real low.”
Will looked forward, “Right, okay. You ready for this Charlie?” Charlie was posed next to Will, legs spread looking forward at the wild Snorunt. He might’ve looked adamant if not for his overwhelming clumsiness.
“It shouldn’t be too tough,” Teagan explained, “You’ll only have to hit her once or twice.”
“Alright Charlie, let’s do this. Hit her with tackle,” Will said sternly.
Charlie barreled towards the wild snorunt, lowering his head to the ground, and braced himself to impact. The snorunt noticed almost instantly, as Charlie wasn’t exactly stealthy. It quickly dodged out of the way, powdering snow all over the exposed back of Charlie. Charlie, hardly phased by the attack turned and struck the snorunt head on. It reeled back and slid through the snow, but quickly got back up.
“Hit her again Charlie,” Will said, intensely focused on his lone pokemon.
Charlie ran at it again, and to Will’s surprise it merely stood looking at Charlie. Just before impact, it seemed to split, Charlie came down on nothing, tripped and fell into the snow. Snorunt came up behind him, hitting him with powder snow again, but to no avail. If not for his ice resistance, Charlie would’ve certainly been hurting by now. He reeled around, laying low to the ground as if to pounce. He looked almost like a cat, except that the cat would’ve been a severely misshapen vulgar hairball. Despite his physical abnormalities, Charlie certainly had heart and he’d proven it in his two encounters. Missing hardly seemed to bother him, he stood and bore towards the snorunt a 4th time. He connected with a loud thud, the snorunt stumbled back dazed.

Teagan grabbed Will’s jacket, jarring him loose of his concentration. “Now kiddo, throw the ball now.” Will regained his composure and threw the ball at the wild pokemon. The ball connected with the snorunt and collected it in a flash of red light. “Now we wait,” Teagan explained. Will looked out at the ball, it shook back and forth three times before finally coming to rest in the snow. Will walked over and picked up the ball, inspecting it and marveling at its construction. He set it on his belt and turned to Charlie who was galloping around in the snow. “Good job, Charlie. You came through for me again.” Charlie looked up as if to nod at his comment, and then went back to dancing in the snow.

Teagan took up his arm as they walked back towards town, “See? That was fun now wasn’t it?” Will laughed, looking down at his new pokeball. It was a marvel, this contraption. This entire experience, going out with his best friend, this beautiful girl whom he was scared to admit was very much in love with, traveling around, and now catching a wild pokemon. Will was very happy with this, and though it was certainly far from ordinary, he felt very content in it. Maybe this was his path, maybe this would be his home.

"The amount of creepy I feel right now burns my flesh..." Maxi and Lee had just entered the cavern seeing Portabello backing up close to them. The breloom was calling out to his master telling him that Maxi has arrived. Lee shuttered a little as he listened to the giggling that echoed through the the cavern. The pokemon's fist tightened and prepared itself for the worse. This is not a place for us to be in... the air is too tense and the laughter pulsating in this room gives off a daunting feeling. Lee began to walk in front of his master checking the area very carefully. Meanwhile, Maxi continued to listen to Portabello's pleas for his master to calm down. This kid is on the verge of insanity if not already. For him to be like this something traumatic must have happened. I do not know the circumstances, but I must aid in whatever way I can!

The thought stopped as he heard the speech of the trainer. The other's voice was broken and as he continued to talk Portabello came closer to them. Maxi slowlly began to drop into a stance. He could feel malicious intent oozing from the cavern and as the Portabello's broken trainer stopped speaking, Maxi knew what was coming. Before he even heard the breloom's voice, Maxi grabbed the figure from the air and brought him to the ground... hard. Lee jumped back as the figure came crashing down and watched as his master pinned down the attacker. "Now listen here buddy, I don't mean any trouble but I got a problem with people sneaking up on me. I don't know you, but my name is Maxi and my small buddy over there is Lee." Maxi applied some pressure to his target. "I see that you are not in the best of moods right now, but I need you to calm down and listen to your breloom. He is very worried for you. Now, I am gonna let you go and I want you to be civil. The black belt kept his eyes locked on the trainer, but threw a comment at Portabello. "Forgive me for my force..." Maxi was hoping that he didn't offend...." Lee watched in awe of his master. Rare was it that his master became serious and Lee was always interested when those times came though at this point he made sure that nothing was ready to get them though he did noticed the Machop they saw minutes ago hiding in the shadows. The scuffle pokemon gave it a stare and thought to himself. Today is going to be interesting...

Riza just smiled to herself as she watched Crenu try to sort out what the strange stone was, though she had to admit that she'd probably be doing the exact same thing he was. When Crenu's Ariados glared at her, Riza just looked back at the spider blankly. She didn't quite know why the Ariados didn't like her, but at the same time she didn't really care. She wasn't surprised that the stone didn't work on Ariados or Pupitar, or even Poliwhirl for that matter, and she sighed, resting her elbows on her knees and her chin on her hands. 'Hmm, when did he get a Spearow and a Swinub?' she thought, noticing that something was quite different about the Spearow. She was sure they didn't normally have colouring like that and she thought back to that greenish marill she'd battled at the beach party. 'Crenu found himself a shiny Pokemon, how cool is that,' she thought, wondering if she'd ever be so lucky.

She continued to watch as the cute little Swinub nudged Snorunt forward, and Riza raised an eyebrow as the little cone shaped pokemon walked forward. No sooner had she touched the stone when both she and the strange object began to glow brightly. Riza's eyes were wide as Snorunt suddenly evolved right before their eyes, and she let out a surprised gasp when she saw the new Pokemon standing, no, floating before them. "Oh wow," she said, mostly at a loss for words. "What kind of Pokemon is that?" Riza asked, though she figured that Crenu wouldn't know either.

Katie had made sure to keep Genki and Noa as far apart from each other as possible, for she didn't want them getting into another fight before the gym match and wearing themselves out. But then again, she could always just spend the rest of the day training and challenge the gym tomorrow. She wasn't in any rush, after all.

She wasn't too worried about Genki, as they'd been together for quite some time now, and even though he wasn't a Chimchar anymore she was familiar with his abilities and moves. She could see him from where she stood, smashing large rocks with his mach punch, and she couldn't believe how strong he was getting. She decided to work with Noa first, seeing as she was the one one who just got a new move, though she silently hoped Genki wouldn't be upset that the Staravia was the first one to get a tm. "Okay Noa, let's work with your new move, okay?" she said, and the Staravia nodded eagerly. The good thing about this valley was that there was a lot of large rocks all over the place, and since they were going up against rock-type Pokemon it was as good of practice as any. "Give your new steel wing a try, on that rock right there," she said, pointing towards one of the boulders. Noa gave a nod and flapped her wings, taking to the sky. She concentrated hard and her wings took on a silvery sheen as she flew towards her target, and with a cry she stretched them out and slammed them into the rock. At the last minute the glow vanished and it was more or less just a wing attack making contact, and Noa cried out as sharp pains went through her wings.

Mike let out a loud yelp as he connected with the ground, the force knocking the air out of him. He gasped for air, choking and coughing as he struggled in Maxi's grip. No chance, this guy was way too strong. Mike let out a low growl before calming down, his face losing its pained contortions.

Portabello knelt down, gently but firmly relieving Maxi of his grip. I can take it from here, thank you. The Breloom reached down and plucked a seed from his tail. He cracked it open, dipping the edge of his claw in it. He then applied a single drop to the boy's forehead, rubbing it gently with the backside of his claw. The boy relaxed almost instantly, his body loosing its rigidity. The faintest of smiles returned to his face, like one has while in the midst of a pleasant dream. Portabello heaved a sigh. There. I gave him a mild dose of sleeping toxin. In a few minutes he will awaken, hopefully much calmer than before. Portabello wiped a bit of acidic sweat from his brow, glad that this particular incident ended without too much violence. The Pokemon walked over to Mike's bag, too focused on the well being of his trainer to notice the eavesdropping Machop. He unhooked Nitro's Pokeball and released him, along with Napalm.

The Charizard and the Magmar both let out a cry of surprise at the sight of their trainer on the ground, immediately expecting the worst from the newcomer and his little Pokemon. Nitro let out a deep chested roar and bared his fangs, while Napalm struck his species' signature pose, his glowing body illuminating the entire cavern.

Halt friends! The Breloom cried out, stepping in front of the two very angry Pokemon. He is not our foe! This boy helped subdue our unfortunate master, and has agreed to help him out of the goodness of his heart!

Napalm hesitantly lowered his arms, trusting in his comrade's defense of the boy. Nitro however, was not so easily swayed. He stomped over to his trainer and coiled around him, emitting a low snarl in warning to the intruding boy. "I don't trust him." he growled, surrounding the boy even closer.

He is a good human. replied the Breloom, his tone stern. Don't do anything rash.
Napalm agreed in his own quiet manner, nodding to the boy. "Mar." He was not as hot-headed as the Charizard, and was willing to give the boy the benefit of the doubt.
I apologize for my friends. Portabello said to Maxi. We are just very protective of our master as of late. His ailments cut as if they were our own. You have nothing to worry about, so sit and relax while our master sleeps. The Pokemon gave a respectful bow, gesturing to the ground beside him. He looked at the Tyrogue. Feel free to make yourselves at home.

Even the normally stoic Dante wasn't able to hold back a grin at Kasiya's excitement. "It seems that you are more excited about this then we are." He teased her gently as he recalled Turn A. "See you on the other side." Dante himself couldn't help but be a little curious himself. He had never participated or even seen a trade evolution before. Kind of funny seeing as he had spent a lot of his life traveling around with his mom when she was a trainer still. Oh well any evolution was always interesting to watch.

Placing Turn A's pokeball down in the small indent that indicated a pokeball should go there. "All right ready when you are Kasiya." Inwardly he wondered what Turn A would be like after he evolved. He had heard that while most Porygon's stayed the same a few of them got kinda weird after evolution. Oh well, he would keep Turn A even if he did get odd, he could deal with odd pokemon.

Oh well Dante watched Kasiya place her pokeball down and with a small grin they both pressed the trade button on their side. The machine's screen lit up as both of the pokeballs were sucked up into the nearby tube. On the screen there was a little animation of two pokeballs going up into the sky before they landed on the other side of the screen. When it finished there was a small bing and both of them took the pokeballs out containing new pokemon each. With a grin Kasiya released Turn A out to let the Porygon evolve.

Turn A appeared out of the pokeball glowing a bright light but not doing much else. It took a moment before he started to glow even brighter as he seemed to digitize himself as his mechanical body started to reform itself. When the glowing stopped Turn A was a much sleeker build and kind of looked like a weird sort of hummingbird duck thing.

Overall Robin and Masamori had enjoyed there small, on their parts not for Luffy and Black*Star, lunch. They had talked about various things and while they obviously had very different ways to go about things there was something they both believed in. Making sure that people were safe and did the right thing. So it really was no surprise, well to them it was, when they left the restaurant, after Masamori had paid the huge bill thanks once again to Luffy and Black*Star, that they continued walking around and talking. They walked right past a few battles going on and pretty much all around the city. Sometimes Robin had to chase after Luffy or stop Black*Star from getting in fights with people he thought were getting more attention then him.

Keegan lingered behind a bit as Kasiya went up to the front desk and handed over her Charmander's Pokeball, and as she rushed over to initiate the trade with Dante, Keegan then went up to the desk as well, thanking Nurse Joy in advance as he gave her his Treecko's Pokeball for treatment. He then made his way over to the PCs in the corner, looking towards Kasiya and Dante out of the corner of his eye as they'd began the trade sequence. He sat down and input his information into the nearest computer and accessed the Pokemon storage system. Twelve icons in all were displayed on the screen, each a miniature image of the Pokemon they represented. Half of them were highlighted, indicating the six that he currently carried with him. His gaze came to rest on the ones that belonged to Kenny, Moeder and Shiva, and he looked towards Dante again. He couldn't help but wonder that if his friend had gone back to being a trainer, would he want his Pokemon back? He really wouldn't mind, as he knew they were in good hands either way.

He highlighted the icon that represented Mori and read over the information it presented him. He wanted the young Ponyta to be well taken care of, but he knew there was no way that he could do it. Even just seeing her icon was enough to stir up that dark feeling and he knew what he had to do. He leaned back in his seat, drumming his fingertips on the desktop as he thought. After a moment or two an idea came to mind and he took out his PokeNav and dialed his home number. After only one ring an automated message came on, informing him that his call had been redirected to a cell phone. Mom has a cell phone now? the redhead thought as he heard his mother's voice on the other end of the line. "Hi Honey, is that you?" she asked, sounding as cheerful as ever.

"Yep, it's me," he answered, looking down at the keyboard in front of him. "Are you guys at home yet?" he asked.

"Yes, we got in late last night," Maggie answered. "Why, do you need something?"

"Uh, yeah, there is something. You remember that Ponyta you gave me?" He closed his eyes, already feeling a little guilty.

"Oh yes, of course. She's right outside, energetic and playful as ever. Do you want me to send her to you?" Her voice seemed to get a little cheerier, if possible, and Keegan cringed.

"No, it's just the opposite, actually," he said, scratching his chin. He took a deep breath, and explained to her the situation, not really sure how she'd react. For the most part, he didn't care how she took it, all he knew was that Mori would be better off with someone else as her trainer. "That's basically it," he finished, running his fingers through his hair. "If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear 'em."

Maggie was silent for a moment, but when she spoke, her voice hadn't lost it's chipper tone. "I think I have just the solution for this problem."

Kasiya laughed as she set Leviathan's Pokeball in the slot of the trade machine, and she nodded once she was ready. She pressed the button on her side of the machine and she watched the two spheres disappear into the machine. Once they'd swapped places, a chime sounded, signaling that the trade was complete and Kasiya snatched up Turn A's Pokeball and released the Virtual Pokemon, watching with wide, eager eyes as the Porygon began to glow and change shape. When it was over, Turn A looked much different than before, though he seemed to hold the same colour scheme. "All done," she said, kneeling down to examine the Porygon2, as he was only going to be in her possession for a few minutes until they traded back so she wanted to get a good look at him. "Aren't you gonna check out who I traded to you?" Kasiya asked, looking up at Dante, who seemed quite tall from her position on the floor. She knew he'd probably like to see just how big and strong Levi had grown since she'd started taking care of her, and she also knew that Levi would like to see Dante again too.

"Don't know. I've never seen it before, though the same can be said about Snorunt. Times like this I feel like a Pokedex would be a good investment." He sighed as he looked at Snotunt's new form, though calling her Snorunt now wouldn't be right anymore. "Well she's still an Ice Type, the crystals on her head are made of ice and she has a cool aura about her. Anything more than that I couldn't say. If she gained a new type, new moves, new ability...I've got nothing." He looked at his new pokemon for a few moments as he sorted all the thoughts racing through his brain. "So, what do I call you? You can tell me that much right?" She looked at herself some more, this was still so strange. She felt a new power coursing through her body and a completely new set of rules. It was something she couldn't describe...it was...awesome! She looked at Crenu and nodded, the first thing that came out her mouth since her evolution was a soft and elegant "Froslass". Froslass continued to sway about feeling very good about herself all of a sudden, no longer feeling like the helpless little pokemon she was before. "Froslass, ok then. Well, you certainly seem stronger, but that doesn't mean I don't expect your best from training. Take some time to get use to your new form, the rest of you return." Crenu recalled all his pokemon except for Froslass, intrigued at what she had to show him now. This was a drastic new form, he was sure there was a lot more to her than just a new size. "Very interesting. Ah, that's right. We've a gym battle to go to. Shall we?" He said calmly as if nothing spectacular had just happened. Though he was rather excited about it, he had seen something interesting.

"Hmm, very nice." Ken smiled as he watched Jaeshan respond with a rather cleaver tactic. The blast of sand and dirt hit all three Sevipers. Two of them blew away with the sand and only one remained. Seviper rose up on her tail and coiled her body up, shaking her head a bit trying to rid herself from the sand. Blaziken was still in her sights fairly clearly, but the image was a bit blurry. "Hmm, what do we do now Seviper? Our opponents are so dangerous, I'm worried! What do we dooooo! Oh, I know. I was savingthis for the next contest, but I think it's ok now right girl? Hehehe, Seviper, try to keep your eyes on the opponent ok? We've got to make sure this next one hurts." Seviper hissed happily as she tried her best to clear her vision. "Seviper, give that blazing fowl a taste of your Aqua Tale!" Seviper launched herself forward, spinning around in the air and whipping her mighty tail around around at Blaziken. Her tail was glowing a deep blue, droplets of water flowing from it became surrounded by a watery veil.

"Yeah actually I did just come from there so I was just giving him a test drive in battle. Vlad is a strong guy but I have a feeling he has a bit an ego."

After hearing this Vlad turned his back to his trainer." I do not have an ego. I just know I'm better than the rest."

Eraku noticed this and scratched the back of his head " Whoa hey buddy I didn't mean anything bad by that its just you seem to get at little cocky at times." he sighed and looked back over at the cute girl. "Well I might as well introduce myself. I'm Eraku and this little guy on my shoulder is Hurricane and as you've seen the green guy is Vlad." Hurricane gave a happy coo and seemed intrigued by the newcomer. "I'm actually a little new to the area, where are you heading?"

Maggie's pleasant tone caught Keegan by surprise. "Oh? What's that?" he asked, unable to stop himself from looking over at Kasiya and Dante as the unmistakable light of evolution filled the Pokemon Center. So that's a Porygon2, he thought. Looks a lot different than its first form, that's for sure.

"You could give Mori to your cousin to take care of!" Maggie exclaimed excitedly. "Your uncle used to bring her over here from time to time, and the two of you would play together. Do you remember her, Keegan?"

"Yes, Mom, I remember her. I only have one cousin," the redhead stated blankly, giving a slight roll of his eyes. His mother was an only child, like he was, and his father had only one sister, making their family a relatively small one. It was hard to forget his cousin, as though she was several years younger than Keegan she'd always been quite small for her size, but she certainly made up for it in noise. He also knew that she had at least one Pokemon, but last he'd heard, she hadn't actually left home yet. "She's a trainer now?" he asked in partial disbelief, though the thought of her taking care of young Mori did appeal to him.

"She is," Maggie answered brightly. "In fact, she left home on her journey before you did, isn't that funny?"

"Yeah, really funny," Keegan grumbled, shaking his head.

"I was talking to your uncle a few nights ago actually," Maggie went on, oblivious to her son's annoyance. "He says that she's already won four badges. Isn't that fantastic?"

"Just peachy."

"It is, isn't it? He said she had trouble in the beginning but she's really found her groove lately. So what do you think, Keegan, should we send Mori to your cousin?"

Keegan closed his eyes and sighed. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," he said after a moment or two. He hadn't seen his cousin in a while, but he knew she was a good kid and that she'd take good care of the young Ponyta. "Mom... I uh... I'm sorry that I can't raise her," he added awkwardly, as even to his own mother his apologies sounded forced and insincere.

"Don't apologize, Keegan. It takes a lot more maturity and guts to admit that you can't do something than to lie and say you can. Besides, you're still proving to me that you're a responsible trainer," Maggie said firmly.

"Me? Responsible? Yeah right," Keegan snickered, shaking his head. "Mom, I'm practically abandoning Mori. I don't call that being responsible."

"Nonsense," Maggie retorted sharply, having already begun work on the transfer. "By admitting that you can't take care of her properly and finding a her trainer who can, you are proving that you are not only a responsible trainer but that you also have Mori's best interest at heart. You really have to stop being so hard on yourself, Keegan. It's unhealthy."

Keegan rolled his eyes again, but couldn't help but smile lightly at his mother's words. He knew she was right, but it wasn't like he'd ever admit it. "Alright, fine. Just make sure she keeps in touch. I want updates on Mori's progress," he said finally.

"Of course," Maggie said, nodding even though Keegan couldn't see her over the phone. "There, the transfer's complete, now all I have to do is give your uncle a call send Miharu an email to let her know she's got herself a brand new Pokemon. I'll give her your PokeNav number as well so that she can call you and update you herself. Oh, I've got to run, Sweetheart, your dad needs help out in the yard. Take care!"

"No, don't give her my number-" Keegan started, but Maggie had already hung up the phone. "Just great," the redhead mumbled, staring at his PokeNav in annoyance. He hadn't exactly been looking to reconnect with his small, green-haired cousin, but a part of him couldn't help but wonder what kind of Pokemon she was raising and how strong they were.

"Aqua Tail?" Jaeshan exclaimed, as the name was more than enough to give away the technique's type. He looked towards Blaziken, not sure if she could survive this would-be super-effective strike. "Try to dodge and counter with Blaze Kick," he shouted. This Ken guy sure knows what he's doing! He's always one step ahead of us!

Blaziken didn't like the look of the watery tail that was heading her way any more than Jaeshan did, and she nodded, determined not to let this snake beat her, not when it was her first full battle in her newly evolved form. She ducked as the watery appendage whipped out at her, though she hadn't expected Seviper to keep up the momentum and was hit hard from behind by the Aqua Tail as it made a second pass, droplets of water hissing as they evaporated after making contact with the Fire-type's blazing body. Blaziken gave a pained roar and tried to shake it off, but the Water-type attack had been strong and she knew she wouldn't last much longer and that she had to make this next one count Her wrists were once again enveloped in flames as she prepared to attack, her entire body glowing with a fiery aura as her Blaze ability was triggered due to her low stamina. She dashed forward a few steps towards Seviper, both legs fully wreathed in scorching flames as kicked with her right foot, though it would prove to serve only as a distraction as she made a slight feint before lashing out with her left leg, hoping to catch the Fang Snake Pokemon off-guard.

At the mention of the word Pokedex Riza smacked her forehead. "Oh, duh! I can't believe I forgot about mine!" Grumbling to herself she pulled the slender black and white device from her bag and held it up, pointing it at the newly dubbed Froslass. "Good thing my brother made me get it updated the other morning," she mumbled as the mini Pokemon computer divulged its information about the strange, floating Pokemon. 'Name: Froslass. Classification: Snow Land Pokemon. Type: Ice and Ghost. Ability: Snow Cloak. Froslass freeze their foes with an icy breath of of nearly -60 degrees Fahrenheit. A Froslass' body is hollow inside.'

"There you go," Riza said, handing the Pokedex to Crenu so that he could look over her moves and other information. "I have to admit, I'm a little jealous," she added, smiling at Froslass. "You're so lovely, and I bet you'll be awesome in contests." At the mention of the gym, however, she jumped up eagerly. "Yes, let's get a move on!" she said, punching the air. "I'm ready for this!" She grabbed her backpack, made sure her poke balls were secure on her belt and practically rushed out the front door, waiting for Crenu to catch up once she was outside. 'At least, I think I'm ready,' she thought, looking around as she tried to remember the way to the gym.

Noa picked herself up off the ground and shook out her wings, looking towards Katie sadly. "Aw, don't worry about that, Noa," Katie told her. "That was only a first try, so you shouldn't let it get you down. Just try again, okay?"

Noa nodded and flew up into the air again, getting herself into position before she flew at the rock again. She concentrated and her wings took on the steely hue again as she neared the rock, and this time she let out a loud cry as she bashed her wings into the boulder. This time she felt no pain, but the rock also appeared to be undamaged. Noa landed and tilted her head, looking at the rock carefully. She'd managed to keep the steel wing up long enough to land the hit, she just had no power behind it. "Hmm, that was definitely better," Katie encouraged. "Keep at it and you'll be crushing those rocks in no time, all right?"

The Staravia nodded again and flapped her wings, eager to try again. She wanted to be a part of Katie's first gym match as she knew that horrible monkey would never let her live it down if she wasn't. She gave a screech as she flew at her target a third time, her wings glowing brightly. "Come on, Noa! You can do it!" Katie called as the bird smashed both her wings into the boulder, this time causing a large crack to appear. "That's it! Much better!" Katie cheered. "Let's keep it up and soon you'll be pulverizing those rock-type Pokemon!"

Meanwhile, Kord had been watching Katie and Noa train, and the Elekid couldn't help but feel like he should be training too. He found a nice little spot by himself and he flexed his strong arms, readying himself for his own practice. "Bibibi!" he shouted, static flaring up between his prongs as he charged at the nearest rock with a quick attack, and once he was close enough he lowered his shoulder and plowed into his target. The young Elekid had a lot to learn about type match ups as the rock proved to be too much for normal-type move like quick attack and the poor Elekid bounced off like a rubber ball on cement. He landed with a heavy thud and sat up slowly, rubbing his behind. "Biii!" he growled angrily, sending sparks everywhere. He wasn't going to let this stupid rock beat him!
