Amora giggled. "Oh, he was here for a while," she assured her friend. "Last year ... he stayed for almost a month. He had all sorts of stories to tell, but he didn't like any of his traveling companions very much. He left again as soon as he found someone else from the city."
She paused thoughtfully. "Looking back on it," she murmured, "I think he came here specifically to get rid of his other traveling companion. But that man wasn't very smart, from what I understand."

Lin shook her head and sighed, at least he was trying not to be lonely.
"Chances are whoever he found isn't with him anymore," Lin admitted, "According to Daeron himself, he's never had any luck with any of his traveling companions. Either they tire of his constant wanderings, or... more likely they simply are incapable of traveling. They are because they're starry eyed about the whole idea without being prepared for it, or worse they're there because he's not Daeron. He's Prince Daeron, which is even a worse reason to."
Of course Lin could understand the latter, especially if his traveling partner was female, she wondered if he ever had the same problems that Tinuviel (poor Tinuviel) or Earendil had when it came to courting.

"Oh, people here aren't like that," Amora smiled sweetly. "Not in this city anyways. I know there are some places where people only pretend to be friends with royalty because they like the connection, but here the people are good. They treat everyone with respect, not just us."
She waved to someone in passing, and continued on down the street. "The blacksmith is at the far end of the city," she said softly, "but it's not too long a walk."

Then at least Lin hoped that Daeron was enjoying traveling whomever he was with this time. She could only imagine what he was doing at the moment. She nodded at this statement at how far the blacksmith's shop was.
"Okay..."

It was a further quarter hour to the blacksmithery, and by the time they arrived, even Amora was feeling more than a little uncomfortably hot. Sir Gilead, dressed in full uniform, had beads of sweat on his forehead as he reached to open the door for them.
"In here," Amora smiled at Lin, motioning for her to lead the way into the shop.

Even though it wasn't a long walk just like Amora said, it was still hot, and Lin decided she would ever complain about winter again. More unused to the heat she wiped her neck quickly before entering.
She peered around hoping slightly that it would be a bit cooler, but for all she knew it could be hotter.

It was indeed cooler in the shop, as the only light came from outside, and the glass kept out most of the heat. Two of the walls were covered in shelves with smaller merchandise, the window had a display case in front of it, and the fourth wall had weapons of all shapes and descriptions hanging on it.
Amora smiled at Lin. "Take a look around," she said warmly.

As much as Lin would like to claim she was a normal person with normal interests, she couldn't help but be drawn to the wall with weapons. She thought Triton would love to be in here.
Granted most, she probably couldn't handle, they were too large for someone like her. It was kind of weird how a fighting knife for them could be one of a short sword possibly.

Amora smiled to herself, watching Lin looking at the wall of weapons, and she took a step closer.
"Anything in particular that you like?" she asked, semi-amused.

Lin looked thoughtful studying all the weapons.
"I'm not sure, it's just interesting because there are a lot of different types," Lin replied softly.
She wondered how it would work to fight with a slightly curved sword.

Amora nodded, looking around. "Balthier prides himself on making ... different weapons. Variations on the norm, I suppose. Flame swords, curved blades, serrated blades ... some people think he's a bit off, but I think he just enjoys a challenge."
She herself liked his work, the smaller blades at least (not being fond of swords in general) and she did like the arrows he made - even if he didn't do bows.

Lin didn't understand why anyone would think he's a bit off for doing so, as long as the sword was usable did it matter?
"They're all amazing," Lin murmured as her eyes drifted towards the knives.
But that was as far as she would take it, she already had all the weapons she need, and even a few she didn't really need. Unlike Triton, she wasn't that interested in collecting weapons.
"My brother Triton likes to collect weapons," Lin told Amora softly, "So that's where my interest comes from."

Amora smiled. "Is he a fighter, then?" she asked, clasping her hands behind her back and looking at the weapons with Lin. "Or a traveler?"
Perhaps if her Sight were working as it once had, she could find out the answers herself; but it was not, and so she could only ask questions to satiate her curiosity.

"He was bit of both," Lin replied softly, "He wanted to travel, and on his own strength."
She chuckled a bit thinking what he was doing now, in more ways than one it was just a natural course of things, but it didn't make it any less amusing.
"But like Mom he adopted so he stayed put instead, and teaches now."
It might have helped she thought if Triton actually taught other fighters and not high school children with attiutde problems.

Amora paused for a moment, as if trying to remember something in the deep recesses of her memory.
"Has he ... been here before?" she asked softly, a frown creasing her forehead. "I ... for some reason the name ... sounds familiar ..."
