"Thanks," Lin chuckled shaking her head.
She thought that was silly to try and get a book without getting a stool. Taking a look at the bookcase in question, she thought.. well even among elves there was a shelf they could not reach.
Then again with elves everything was bigger.
"I'm actually here to give out cookies, Dad isn't here. It's after Christmas," she paused, "Though you weren't born when I did this last year, well last year back home, and your brother was just a baby back then."

"Christmas?" Arahad repeated curiously, picking up a book and tossing it onto the bed. He looked at Lin and smiled. "I have to say, though, anything involving cookies has to be good."
He chuckled and stretched his uninjured arm. "Why don't we head out together to find people," he suggested brightly. "It's been weeks since I've been able to do anything decent, especially outside."

"Because of your arm?" Lin inquired as she stepped out the door.
She turned to face him in the hallway, she couldn't help but wonder how he managed that.
"How did you break your arm?"

Arahad coughed softly. "Taking out one of the horses that hadn't yet been broken," he admitted, "which I knew I wasn't supposed to do. That's why Mother won't let anyone heal me by magic, so that I learn my lesson."
He nodded seriously. "My lesson has been learned, I promise you that. Sitting around all day is so boring ... I wish I could still hunt and ride and everything."
He winked at Lin. "On the bright side, no chores until I'm all healed up, which Mother says won't be until after the harvest, perhaps."

Lin laughed at that, she wasn't so sure if getting out of chores would be worth her sanity, "I don't know, it won't do any good if you waste away from boredom."
Honestly to not train or do anything active would drive her completely bonkers. Heading back down the stairs so they could get on with finding people Lin shook her head looking over her shoulder.
"I'm glad it's only your arm though," Lin added.
Horses were huge compared to her even after she grew, she was pretty sure the horses here were larger than the horses back home."

Arahad grinned warmly at Lin. "I'm just as glad, trust me," he agreed. "At least I'm not immobile. And as Mother constantly reminds me - I can still read and write and learn. But I think that a visit from you merits a day off learning."
If nothing else.

Lin giggled at that, she was glad at least there was a highlight to his day.
"I'm glad," she smiled, "So where to first? The last time I came here I had left candy canes on the table since it was snowing and I was the size of a doll," Lin murmured, "So I'm not sure how I'm going to do this."

"It's very simply," Arahad grinned. "I take you to the people who I know where they are, and for the rest, you give them to me and say tough luck for those who made themselves difficult to find. They'll never know the difference, and my recovery will be that much less painful. What do you say?"
His eyes were glinting brightly, sparkling with laughter. He was joking, and he was certain that she would know it.

Lin laughed at that and shook her head, "That's awful..."
She continued to giggle as she stepped out of the house turning to make sure Arahad was right behind her.
"How about we start at the garden first," she suggested.

Arahad chuckled and nodded at Lin's suggestion. "That's where Mother is," He agreed, "helping out with the planting. Well, most of the planting is done by now, they had to make sure that there would be no more frost, but taking care of them and such."
Technically something he could still help out with, except that Haradhel didn't want him getting his bandages dirty.

Well that made sense, it was that time of year where planting would need to be done.
"Good, I'll probably have to leave some with her, since that was what I had to do last time as well."
Especially since the fighters were out on shifts.

"You could always leave them with me," Arahad suggested innocently. "You can trust me. Besides, Mother won't have a place to keep them, in the garden - I can put them away somewhere in the house where they won't get dirty or dropped or anything."
He chuckled softly and led Lin over to the garden, where several elves - Haradhel and Vanya among them - could be seen kneeling and planting seeds in rows.

Lin laughed at that, she was sure that Arahad would, but just the way he said it made her laugh.
"I'll leave it on the kitchen table for everyone, but I do have people I do have to personally give cookies to, and Miyu's present. It's snowing hard back home, and Yuki thought it would be a good time to give Miyu a lesson on snowstorms."

"Present?" Arahad questioned, curious now. "For whom?"
From Miyu ... probably for Aragost, he reasoned - the two of them were pretty much inseparable when the Gaians were visiting. Though he had no idea what it might be, considering Lin's comment about snowstorms.

"Aragost," Lin replied wryly, "Of course, I don't know exactly what she got him, she put it into a bag so it would be a surprise."
A bag in which Aragost could use for.. what she wasn't sure what he would use a small pouch for, but Miyu understood the need to reuse things especially here.
