Kayla stood up and walked out the door with Nightwalker following beside her. Mira used her fairy magic to shut the door to Kayla's room, then rejoined her. Kayla walked towards the lounge and walked in, seeing Stardust walk up to her happily with her tail wagging. Kayla smiled, gently stroking Stardust's head. She then sat down at an empty table as both wolves laid down on either side of Kayla's feet. *How are you feeling, child?* Stadust sent in concern. *I'm doing better.* Kayla sent in reply.

Shin-lu looked out of the corner of her eye to see Kayla fall. Great... She parried Roy's tail as she tried to think of what her chances were, but then decided to discard the thought. If she was going to lose, might as well have fun with it. Shin-lu jumped over Roy's tail and stood on Roy's back as it if it was just some large rock as she continued to spar with Roy's tail, striking and parrying it to try and dislodge the rapier.

Ilyana continued to eat as she looked over at Par'il. "Well, at least it looks like Shin-lu's having fun."

Shin-lu was now on his back, so he would reach up, but his arms no matter what could never reach her. His armor was in more ways than one a plus, but when it came to movement such as moving his arms, it was sometimes difficult. Roy's tail was the one thing that was doing combat now. Roy would try and turn his head towards Shin to spit out another fireball, but realized that was impossible. He would now begin to do a full charge forward picking up speed before coming to a sudden stop, to try and throw her off his back. Shin-lu was proving to be a much more tougher opponent that he realized, she too was very resourceful.

Anita watched from the sidelines, and would almost have been easily overlooked where she was sitting, were it not for her pink hair. It's one of those things that makes it almost impossible to really 'blend in' to your surroundings. Stardust had gone to Kayla, and she sat now just observing the other constants. They were extremely skilled fighters. It made her wonder if she even had a chance.

You'll never expect what you can't see...

((Sorry all, computer went kaput the other night... grah...))

Par'il was caught off by the sudden rush from the young girl. Hesitant at first, Par'il decided to gently return the warm embrace. It seemed a little un-elfish, but if it made her happy... Not until Ilyana spoke did he lessen his hold. Hands still wrapped around Adeva, his arms dropped, making it very easy to loose hold. Hearing Ilyana's voice, the color left his face, seeming disgraced from what may seem to elves as a disgraceful event. "Umm... Yes, it does look like Shin-lu is having fun..." Once Graff stated Paraiimil's name, Par'il blushed, but quickly forced it away as he slid out of Adeva's hold, never leaving his seat. Shifting enough to face the one who called his name, Par'il stated, "Yes, Graff?"

Dark found it odd that Gro seemed to just leave with little to no advanced notice or warning. Considering the mixed race the man was, it may make more sense, but still weird. Selene's gaze then fell Dark's direction, only for him to notice it was her pet she was looking at. She seemed to avoid eye contact as she approached, only to ask pardon, making faces the whole time. She certainly was an oddball. As for her pet, it seemed to change attitudes with its appearance, as if it magically became tollerable out here. He had been confused enough for the day, "Yeah, okay, whatever." He turned for the lounge, hoping to forget all this with alcohol.

Siom, too, only stared as the three parted ways. 'What am I, invisible?' That man - no, none of them acknowledged my presence.' Siom stood there with a false smile, then shook his head, ignoring it. He too decided to follow Dark to the lounge. He had something to do there. His meeting with the new members would come soon enough...

Adeva felt Par'il's embrace on her and then his sudden lessen on her. She started to frown when he loosened his grip on her. Then he slipped away from her. She stood upright, her face turning red. She moved her scarf up higher over her face and stepped back from him. She saw how embarresed he was by her. Her eyes started to well up with tears Her body started to shake as she tried to keep herself from crying, but she couldn't stop it. "Sorry..." She said before running off crying. She ran back out through the Arena door and towards the forest. She felt incredibly embarresed and upset since she had embarresed Par'il by just hugging him. She didn't go that far away. She found herself a tree that she could sit down behind, pull her legs close to her, and cry. She tried to rub her eyes with her sleeves but it wasn't enough to stop all the tears coming down.

Selene continued walking with Pyralis until she got to her room. (What ARE we doing, Selene. We don't have anything to tend to.) "Yes, we do." She dug around under her bed, and pulled out a long box. "Ha! This!" she declared. Pyralis rolled his eyes. Selene gave him a smug smile. "You know this is your favorite." Selene took her box with Pyralis and closed her door. She went back to the lounge. Pyralis scrambled to a table with two seats. Selene emptied the contents of the box and set up the pieces. Pyralis was hopping in his seat. (Oh I love chess! Of course I ALWAYS win.) (Whatever you say.) Selene figured he forgot that she could read minds. She would have fun with this.

You'll never expect what you can't see...

"Sorry..." Par'il turned to see Adeva run off in tears. "A...deva..." he stated softly. He raised a hand as if to grab her and keep her from running even though she was out of reach. He stopped himself before his hand was all the way up. He knew he didn't know what the problem was and with that he wouldn't know how to help. Plus, it would be rude to just leave Graff mid-conversation... He turned back to Graff, but was still worried if she'd be alright. "You had something that you wanted to say?...

Siom was but a few feet from the lounge door when something caught his eye. He saw Adeva run off. 'I wonder where she's off to so fast.' He continued forward and slowly reached for the door. Dark had been sitting in the lounge for awhile aready un-moving - glazed eyes fixated on a bright window - a bottle of ale, loosely held in his hand. Suddenly Siom burst through the door and slammed it behind him. Siom gently shut the door and walked to a side wall. Using his one of his throwing hammers, he softly tapped a wooden spike through the top of his scroll. "Do you have to be so loud! Siom turned to look at the shouting figure, "Sorry, Dark; I didn't mean to disturb you." "Yeah, whatever." Dark stood up. "I need to go take care of something." Siom stared to him, "Alright, just make sure not to use poison oak when you're done." Dark wobbled to the door. Dark glanced back giving Siom an irritated look, then walked out the door. Siom saw the strange face Dark made under his mask, before the drunken figure got outside the lounge and slammed the door behind him. "Hmm... bad time for a joke I guess... He peeled down the rolled paper slightly, "No!" he seemed to whisper, then in a hushed voice, he continued, "I hope she's ready for this. " The paper rolled back into place, unable to be read at a glance.

Adeva had been sitting by the tree for a little bit. Sound of footsteps in the brush could be heard approaching her. Dark sat down next to her. He had his back against the tree, the leg closest to her straight out in front of him, his other leg bent so his foot lay flat and his knee is in the air. The arm on the same side of his body was resting on his raised knee, and the bottle of ale held at an angle with the hand. The other hand lay lifeless on the ground between them. His rosey cheeks could be seen above his falling mask as his head hang there. "You know, it is easy to follow someone who is making as much noise as you are... You gonna just sit there and cry all day? Or are you willing to tell me what's wrong?" Only Dark's lips moved as he spoke, his eyes were half closed and staring forward, rather than at Adeva.

Siom, almost as if avoiding Kayla, was sitting by a window when Selene walked in holding what appeared to be a board game. Attempting to ignore the inevitable as long as possible, he started to watch Selene with anticipation to see just what she was planning on playing and whom, pray tell, she was going to play with.

Adeva remained sobbing by the tree, unable to calm herself. It took her a bit to notice the footsteps towards her. She slowly raised her head from her tear soaked sleeves and looked over at Dark. She looked at him a bit before looking back down, hearing what Dark was saying to her. She wiped her face with her sleeve and sniffled a bit, before speaking to him. "You'll think I'm stupid for it..." She said, still sniffling.

Selene was the black chess pieces, because Pyralis always claimed the whites had his luck on them, and since his luck has not affect on himself he should use them. (Lies!) Selene moved one of her pawns. Pyralis snickered. (Such a bad move.) Selene rolled her eyes. (Let's see. If I go here....no here is better. Alright then I can move there after.) Pyralis moved, with his beak one of his white pawns. Since Selene already knew what Pyralis was going to do, she took out one of her horsemen and knocked out the pawn. Pyralis frowned. (Slick move.)

You'll never expect what you can't see...

Siom stared at the game. 'Her aitvara?' He smiled at the two of them, 'Leave it to an elf to play a game with a non-humanoid. Ingenious to challenge wits with such an intelligent creature.' He continued watching, hoping for an enjoyable match to distract him from what he had read.

Dark chuckled a bit. He turned his head to look at her with a goofy grin. Although one may not have been able to see it through the mask, you could tell he might not be fully there. "You'd be surprised. Besides, why should you care?" He let his head fall back against the tree and took a short sip of the ale, "It would only be one man's opinion in either way. You shouldn't let yourself get so worked up by something as stupid as that."

Selene already knew this was going to be a quick game, so she moved all her pieces out of Pyralis' way. She did this for two reasons. One, to make Pyralis think he was going to win. Two, so she could see clearly where he placed his peices, so she could see where to move hers. After a couple more moves, Pyralis was confident. (My apologies, Selene. It seems like I have beaten you, again.) He let out a triumphant squawk. "Hey! What did I say? Shush!" she scolded.(And that's what YOU think. ) Pyralis frowned, confused. Selene now had control of her queen and it was clear that Pyralis' king was vlnerable. She slowly picked up her piece and placed it right in front of his king. "Check mate." she said calmly. Pyralis squawked in suprise. (WHAT!?!?! But how?!? No, there's no way!) He eyed all the pieces carefully as if they a had hidden magic in them. "Face it, Pyralis. I won." Selene said triumphantly, as she kicked back in her seat. Pyralis scowled at her.

Kayla noticed the bulletin that Siom had posted. 'I wonder what it's about.' she thought curiously. She went over and read the bulletin carefully, noticing the first match was her and Shin-lu. 'Why would I be fighting her first in this round?' she thought curiously.

Bulletin

Official Upcoming Arena Matches

These are the matches to take place shortly. All contestants who enter the tourney must take to the arena for an official match. Each player will be ranked according to how they have performed in the arena. Players, however, are not allowed to see their rankings until the games are over.

Rules of a match:
-The players must remain in the arena to begin a match. The field of the arena is made and chosen magically solely by the arena's own magics.
-A player cannot leave the arena until the match has a deciding victor or is decided to be a draw. Powerful magics will hold the contestants within the arena until the match is over.
-A match does NOT end until one player admits defeat, is knocked unconscious, or is killed. Killing, however, should not be the intent of a fight.
-Use of magic is not allowed in the arena during fights save for healing magics. Powerful magic dampeners are in effect starting at the beginning of the match and shall last for the entire duration of the match. The magic dampeners are what shall render all magics useless (save for healing) to prevent magic wielders from breaking this code of honor.
-etc... ((more rules may be added or altered for later intent or need))

Matches:

Round 1:
1) Kayla vs Shin-lu
2) Black Edge vs Selene
3-=~'; ,./` ][gf
[" ..;[ ]`#& ^
...
You'll never expect what you can't see...

For some reason, the rest of the matches cannot be read yet...

Siom was right, the test of wit between the woman and her aitvara was a good distraction. She seemed strangely cocky about her victory, but who was Siom to judge. He then saw Kayla was reading the rolled paper stuck to the wall. He stood up and walked towards her. Stopping just behind her, he knew that she had already seen the news. "So, are you ready for this, Kayla?" he asked softly, trying not to unnerve her. The first match is always the toughest for anyone.

((Note: There can be 'official' fights and challenges in the arena besides what is posted on the bulletin.))

Kayla heard Siom behind her. "I guess so..." she replied, trailing off. She let out a small shaky sigh, trying to calm her nerves.

Adeva sighed and shook her head, wiping the tears from her eyes. "You're drunk..." She said to him, her tone a little cold. She sniffled a bit as she wiped her eyes again. She slowly stood and looked off towards the forest. "You could never understand... Especially with you being the way you are right now..." And with that said, she ran off again. For the first time in a long time, Adeva wanted to be alone.
