Corrah nodded. "Very well," he murmured. "We will do a bit of training ... but whenever you are hungry, tell me ... if you deny your body's needs, you will only make yourself weaker."
He rose and headed off towards the woods, but before he even got to the trees he knelt and picked up a thick, sturdy branch, and returned to Kanis's side.
"Since you can't use your legs," he told her, "we will focus on your arms."
He stood over her, one leg on each side of hers, and held the branch like a bar just above her head. "Take hold of it," he instructed, "and try to lift yourself."
He was certain she would not be able to do it, but if they worked at it off and on for the next few days, he knew she would be able to do it before long.
Aras smiled down at Rhea over her shoulder. "I know you're strong," she assured him, "I just don't want to take the chance of hurting you. I'll be careful, don't you worry."
She climbed down carefully, and before she knew it she was safely at Rhea's side once more.
"Come on," she grinned, reaching for his hand. "Let's go!"

Kanis watched Corrah moving around. He was so graceful. She watched the way the robe move over him and she wondered how he would move and how his muscles would work without it. But when he brought the branch back she nodded and then wrapped her hands around it and she started to try and pull herself up though her muscles worked hard to pull herself up but she could not lift herself very far off the ground at all.
Rhea laughed and lapped over her cheek holding her close. "Alright....lets go!" He smiled and holding her hand started to run off towards the training grounds. "I wonder what we will learn." he smiled a bit and laughed knowing that he was training her body to be solid every night.

Corrah smiled.
"Just a bit at a time, slowly," he murmured. "Don't overdo it ... the last thing you want to do is pull a muscle. Rest as much as you need ... you'll see, within a few days you'll be able to lift yourself as if you don't weigh a thing."
Aras giggled, and her eyes sparkled brightly as she ran after Rhea, still holding his hand tightly.
"Do you think we'll beat her there?" she laughed as they ran.

Kanis stopped trying and lowered her arms resting them then reached up and started to pull again. She took her time working it slowly but not quitting. "Then I would be unable to train in any form." She laughed softly.
Rhea smiled and nods, "Yes maybe....she might even go to the ledge first and check on us there first." he laughed and continued to run until he saw the clearing. "It looks like someone is there." he said and then sniffed the air and stopped.
"Arrras' brother is there..."

Corrah smiled. "No, you would not," he agreed softly as he held the branch. "We will also do other training ... punches, like you learned yesterday, throwing ... you will not be far behind your siblings when you are healed. You may even be ahead of them."
Aras cocked her head at Rhea. "How can you tell that it's Ruran?" she asked him. "I mean ... obviously you can smell that there's someone ... but how do you know it's him?"

Kanis smiled and nods, "Thank you Corrah sir! I will not let you down!" she smiled and worked her arms some more. Then she took a short break.
Rhea made a face. "I don't like his smell." He said.."he is covered in blood...and I want you to stay safe....wait here Arrras." he said and dropped to all fours to creep into the training field.

Aras paled slightly. Blood? What had happened to her brother? Was he all right?
"Be careful, Rhea," she murmured as he headed off into the trees. She squatted down and hugged her knees to her chest, all her senses alert as she tried to watch and hear to see what was happening.

Rhea sniffed the air as he moved closer and lowered his head to sniff at Ruran. He tilted his head listening to hear if Armus was near. He jumped back when Ruran moved.
Ruran could feel someone sniffing at him and he turned growling. "Great I get the stupid wolf." He sighed and looked around. "Wheres my sister?"

Armus had just arrived at the little plateau where she had expected to find Rhea and Aras waiting for her, and she was greatly surprised to find that they were gone. She knew the children fairly well, however, and she was able to guess that they might have gone to the training area. With a smile on her face, she headed off in that direction to meet them there.
Aras could hear every word that was being spoken in the clearing, and she knew Ruran was talking about her ... but she didn't move. She wouldn't come out until Rhea told her to. She would wait for him ... unless Ruran threatened Rhea, in which case she would rush to his defense.

Rhea growled. "And what would you do with Arrras? I am not giving her to you." he turned and started to walk away from the clearing.
Ruran glared, "You stupid wolf! If I had weapon I would so tear you apart!" He tried to sit up but he was weak and his skinned ankle and multiple scratches had left him a bit weak.
He fell back down and shut his eyes, "One day I will get you back for deceiving my sister...even if she is a pain...she should not defile her mind and body with one like you!"

Aras was waiting anxiously for Rhea, and when he returned she jumped to her feet once more and threw her arms around him, holding him close.
"Maybe we should wait for Armus," she murmured worriedly into his ear. "We'll be safe with her here ..."

Rhea nods, "Yes we should wait for her." he nuzzled into Aras licking her face softly. He was just glad she was safe. He was starting to dislike her family, mainly the males. He would take her away from it all as soon as they were old enough.
Kanis thought that maybe since Corrah was being so open and nice to her she would ask him some questions. Though she was told my Armus she wanted to hear it from Corrah too. "Sir...how did you and Armus met....did you really save her life?" She asked as she punched at his hands.

Corrah chuckled softly, keeping his hands steady for her. "Is that what she told you?" he asked in amusement. "... I suppose it's true. It depends on how you look at it. When I found her, she was your age ... a little smaller, though, and skinny as a rail. She was up in a tree, hiding from wolves, terrified of the terrible storm that was going on ... and she was starving, nearly to death."
He thought back on it. "I helped her down, gave her shelter and safety and food ... I suppose that yes, you could say that I saved her life."
Aras hugged Rhea tightly. She was glad that he wanted to wait ... she didn't want to face her brother, even if Rhea was by her side.
They didn't have long to wait. Only a few short minutes later, Armus stumbled over the two children (nearly literally) and grinned at them.
"What are you doing here?" she asked them curiously. "I thought you would have been at the training clearing already ..."

Kanis listened and as she continued to work her punches imaging how it must be. She blushed a bit. She could never be that close or important to Corrah. She looked down at her hands. "You are a very good man sir... She is really thankful to you sir. It must have been hard though." She nodded. "Well she told me you saved her when she was close to death. And I can see in her eyes she is very happy you did, even if her past might have been bad you gave her a new stronger fast and a better future.
Rhea looked at her though his body was in a defensive position when Armus showed up. But when he saw who it was he calmed down, "Arrras' brother....clearing." he said softly and moved to nuzzled under Aras' hand again. He licked her side.

Corrah smiled sadly as Kanis continued her punches.
"I have much to thank her for as well," he murmured softly. "If not for her, I would still be the monster I was ... she was the first person to whom I have ever spoken. Until that time I was alone, and I was as wild as it was possible to be. It was she who taught me how to interact with others ... how to be human."
He wanted to add that Kanis was reminding him of those days, that if not for her sake he would probably have torn her brother to bits by now ... but he didn't. He didn't want to make her more uncomfortable than she already was.
"Ah, I see," Armus murmured. "Well, at least I didn't lose him ... Corrah would have my head if I did. Come on, we might as well go see him. I did promise Corrah that I would train all of you today."
She rose once more and headed towards the clearing.
Aras stroked Rhea's hair lovingly and kept silent, her eyes following Armus as she headed off.
"I guess we should go with her, huh," she murmured softly to Rhea. She wanted the two of them to go back to their den ... but they could go there again later.
