Kichi snarled and stomped off changing shape to a small child and glaring back at Slate. Then he yelled back " I WAS NOT STARING!!!!"

Slate laughed and shook her head, saying back to him, "Oh, yes, you most certainly were. ~Don't deny it~" This last part she said in a singsong voice, intending to playfully tease him.

Benkei awoke, to find a faint light in the distance. "We should move to some sort of shelter so that Slate may rest. Let us hurry; the sun is rising quickly."
"Yeah... Wouldn't want our woman turning into a pile of ash, now do we?"
Benkei sighed. "For once, you have a point."

Slate pulled her hood and mask back up as she rose to follow the others to a more sheltered area.

(Have you ever played Prince of Persia: Two Thrones? The red voice is Benkei's evil half. For now, he can only speak to Benkei from inside him, but soon he will gain enough power to get out for awhile and fight.)

Slate rubbed the back of her neck beneath her hood. Something wasn't right about Benkei's mind-patterns; she'd been noticing this for a while. "I'll be okay. The nearest town is only a mile away, we can get there in no time if we move at a good pace."

"You don't need to run and exert yourself--" Slate's protests died in her throat; she knew he wouldn't listen. She sped up to keep in stride with Fate and Kichi, following Benkei as they headed for town.

Kichi turned to look back and noticed the sun beginning to light the sky from below the horizon and thought to himself 'Damnit, now Slate's gonna be ash before we can get to town.' so he transformed into a dragon and swooped down to fly alongside them. "Slate I'll give you and Benkei a lift to town just hold on to my ankles, I wont let you fall." turning to Benkei he said "I'm gonna half to carry you on my back Benkei."

Benkei shook his head. "I'd be too heavy; I'll only slow you down. Go on ahead, I'll catch up."

Instead of following Benkei's advice Kichi grabbed Benkei by the wrist and lifted him onto his back, barely slowing down at all. Then he lifted Slate into his arms to speed things up and took off to the town as fast as he could. "Benkei I need someone to look after Fate, and I need someone to look after Slate. You cant keep up with Fate and Slate needs to be away from the sun. So I fly us there then come back to protect Fate. It's simple logic so follow it, please." a three minutes later he touched down at the hotel of the town and took off to rush back to Fate.
