[1/15/09] Amendment regarding exp and rules of setup of event 1
Sorry bout that folks. Didn’t think about this at first. I’ve been watching and reading some of your posts and remember now. Yea you do post your completed event in the EXP thread. Just use the regular format but you don’t have to count your posts and instead of your level, post your rank. Sorry again about that.
Also corrected some bad wording and clarified some things in the events. Thanks for the help Gig, Proto and B.C.
[Basic Info]
Hi folks, it’s you friendly neighborhood Overlord here. We got a pretty kinky new event for you guys…
Baka Red: “Sir, I think Kinky is more in reference to sexual items…”
… as I was saying, we have some pretty nice little items planned for you ungrateful slaves in the future: This is but one of them.
The way this works is that once a week, I will roll a dice. Whatever number it lands on, that event goes into play. The purpose of this thread is to act as an encompassing view of the entire village. In other words, all your posts related to these events will be done in this thread but you are also allowed to rp/train in the rest of the village as normal.
Once the event starts, you can participate if you feel like. However, once the dice rolls for the next event, if you haven’t completed the previous one, you get nothing. I don’t care if you are one post away from finishing, you get nothing.
“Ooooh the Overlord is SOOOO mean!”
Anyway, if you complete the event, you get the rewards associated with your rank. No, you can’t do an event more than once per week unless you fail.
There are a few special rules for this:
1) You cannot die in any of these events. If you do fall to 0 hp, your character will simply be counted as unconscious and you fail the event. It will take one full real life day before your character can come back with 1 HP to try the event again. Again, this is only associated with this thread so it has no bearings on your characters HP outside of this thread.
2) As stated, you have from the time of the initial roll until the time of the starting roll for the next event to complete the event. If you do not complete the event, you get nothing. The date and time of the rolls will be posted in this first post as well so just check here to make sure you aren’t screwed.
3) If the roll to start the next event brings up the same event number then a new roll will be done. In other words, the same event won’t happen 2 weeks in a row but it may happen one week then skip a week and then happen the next week.
4) All posts related to these events should be made here. If you have any questions, ask them in the OOC thread or email them to me. Also, if you have any suggestions for an event to add, email them to me.
5) Have friggin fun!
Now, here are the events!

Something has caused a massive rock slide on (insert mountain name). Rules: User must stop the stones using one of three methods.
A-Destroy the rocks with Taijutsu -Must destroy 10 stones or more each with a DC starting at 20(1D20+str mod). Multiple rolls are allowed to reach the desired DC for a rock so long as you have enough attack turns. You may add up your Taijutsu rolls for one post to equal the DC asked of your class.

Rules: Using an axe pick provided by the mining society, the user must mine for items. The user rolls 2 20 sided dice. The first one is to see how much further the wall can be pushed till it breaks. The user will have to do multiple rolls (in separate posts) to add up to the DC for that wall. Each post can have as many rolls as attack turns that character has.
The second one is to see what item you gain. Different items give different payouts. The user must go through 5 walls before they can say they are done. You can do up to 10 walls. The DC is comprised of 1D20 + str mod + 5(for pick axe).

*If you collapse 3 walls, you fail the event and get nothing.

3) Scorpion Round Up
Well, whether you love them or hate them, the giant scorpions of Iwagakure are kinda the village symbol so what ya gonna do? Unfortunately, they have been a bit rowdy latly and are causing problems for trade routes and people coming to the village to make propositions. Smack a few of them around a bit to hush them up would you?
Rules: The player will be required to battle a minimum of 3 giant scorpions that are roughly around their rank. Victory is achieved when all 3 scorpions are defeated The player may choose the combination of scorpions from the list provided for their rank.
Gennin Scorpions: Gennin may choose up to 4 of these scorpions

*You may fight multiple scorpions at once and will get 1.2x the rewards for doing this but you only HAVE to fight 1 at a time.

*If there is still time left in the event, you may restart it from the last amount of scorpions you had but they will have full HP when you restart.

4) Actors Round-up
Thank’s to the current Tsuchikage being so well known in the film industry for both decent and indecent films, Iwa has become a bit of a hub for recruiting new talent for movies. Star’s are being born and fading faster than a Supernova could possibly keep track of. Why don’t you try your hand at stardom.
Rules: The player will have to audition for a role that fits their personality. The auditions consist of 2 scene try outs: 1 is a pure acting scene and the other is a combat scene. For the acting scene, the user must past a Performance(Acting) DC based on Rank 5 times. For the combat scene, the user must defeat a foe of your rank with exactly half your stats(rounded down) but make it interesting. Take too few posts and your not ‘exciting’ enough, take too many and you’re too much of a ham.
Gennin: Performance(Acting) DC 15 / Combat Posts: 3 min, 6 max
Chunnin: Performance(Acting) DC 25 / Combat Posts: 4 min, 8 max
Jounin: Performance(Acting) DC 50 / Combat Posts: 6 min, 10 max
ANBU: Performance(Acting) DC 75/ Combat Posts: 7 min, 10 max
Kage: Performance(Acting) DC 100/ Combat Posts: 8 min, 15 max
Other: Obviously, since this isn’t a REAL fight, you can’t die nor can you be knocked unconscious. If your HP reaches 0, you simply lose that portion.
Restrictions: None
Special: If you give your character an acting scene that goes directly AGAINST their personality, increase the DC by 10 (+2 per rank past Gennin). Reward's increased by 1.5x if you do this.

Rules: The player will be put in different divisions based upon their rank. They must perform Constitution Checks(Pure Constitution + 1 D20) vs. the DC to see how far they go in the contest. Jounin- 60 DC / 6 Rounds Minimal
ANBU- 70 DC / 7 Rounds Minimal

6) Stone Maze:
Random and confusion are probably synonymous with the Tsuchikage Marcus. Everything he touches ends up getting weird. Which is why this struck so many people by surprise. Literally overnight, the landscape of the Kara Badlands has been mutated into a huge maze. No one knows how he did it, just that he did. Supposedly, he’s hidden some good crap in the maze but no one knows for sure.
Rules: The player will roll Search Checks(Search Skill + 1 D20) to try and find their way through the maze. You may do as many checks per post as your attack turns allow. No distinctions were made between one rank or another. You simply pick one of 6 entry points (via 6 sided dice) and go from there. Each entry point has a varying difficulty to get to the single exit.
Door 1 – 500
Door 2 – 50
Door 3 – 250
Door 4 – 1000
Door 5 – 400
Door 6 - 700
Other: *If you roll a 10 or lower, your are considered as hitting a ‘dead end’ and can only add half your total Search check to your attempt.
*If you roll a 1, it is considered that you completely failed and get to add nothing to the search. If you roll 3 1’s, you must start over.
*If you roll a 20, add double your Search Skill to your Search Check.
Special: *You are allowed to change which door you entered 1 time without it being counted as a fail. Simply announce that you’re changing doors and do another roll to see what door you go into.

Door 2 – 50
Door 3 – 250
Door 4 – 1000
Door 5 – 400
Door 6 - 700

*If you roll a 1, it is considered that you completely failed and get to add nothing to the search. If you roll 3 1’s, you must start over.
*If you roll a 20, add double your Search Skill to your Search Check.
Special: *You are allowed to change which door you entered 1 time without it being counted as a fail. Simply announce that you’re changing doors and do another roll to see what door you go into.
