Hmph... I guess I could give it a try.

*Loads a rifle and aims*

You know, they are probably aim at us with rifles...

*Just then, a bullet whizzes past John's head, he could feel the heat emitted from the bullet across the left side of his face, then it hits into the mast*

BASTARDS!! scream

*John fires a shot and hits some guy in a red coat square in the freaken face*

Yeah!, got him square in the freaken face!
...I mean, meh, that was simple enough... *cough*

"John, you need to be up higher, or in a place where they can't hit you easily..."

*Aeoess then shoots one down that was aiming for John.*

"However I don't recommend you being up here in the nest with me. if they see that all the sharpshooters are in one place they'll have an easy target to shoot down with a cannon."

*Aeoess blast one in the face from far away.*

"However you aren't bad with a rifle. Let's see you make another face shot!"

*At this point it was clear that Aeoess was making a game, but for anyone who really knew her, they knew why. Britain was her original home, and a place where they believed that she was possessed (OOC:In case you are wondering the ideas involving mental health were non existent at this time period.) thanks to the fact that she continued to hear voices (That includes Eittik), and the place where they wanted her dead. The though of returning to that place excited her yet scared her too, and she was killing redcoats to ease her fears.*

The face is to easy of a target, I'm gonna go for the heart this time.

*Aims and shots a redcoat in the liver*

DAMN IT!!!! scream

I hope the powder monkeys are hitting there marks.

*John was now enjoying shooting redcoats, be hasn't lost mind of the sails, which was an important factor if they were to get away*
PostPosted: Thu Dec 21, 2006 10:56 am

*Aeoess started watching as the sails began to get a little loose.*

"John, you'll need to take care of the sails!"

*Aeoess knew this wasn't her place but this wasn't the time to talk about that.*

"ANYONE WHO IS STUPIDLY ON DECK WITHOUT SOMETHING TO DO NEEDS TO GET A RIFLE AND KILL SOME REDCOATS!!!"

*She fired a few more times hitting some more redcoats, whose numbers were declining rapidly. She felt that the Lady would make it out of this one just fine.*

QUASAN, WHY AREN'T YOU WATCHING THE SAILS!?!

I already knew about that sail, only thing you should be looking at are those redcoats.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 21, 2006 11:10 am

"Sorry John, but I can't help but watch out for all of you at this point."

*Aeoess hits another fatally in the chest*

"And sorry about the order giving, but I feel like we're in a tight spot, we can't have anyone on the ship who isn't aiding in either our attack or our getaway.

I apologize because I'm already in deep enough s**t, best if I don't make it worse."

*She killed yet another from the distance.*

Somethings up, picking them off is to easy. It seems like to want us think that we're getting close to victory. I don't see them shooting back, maybe one or two shots every so often, hmmm.

Just pick off the cannon bearers Miss Aeoess, they're planning something over there.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 21, 2006 11:36 am

"I agree. They are planning something, but why would they use their own men as bait?"

They could be prisoners against there will.

Captain, something is up, what do you suggest we do Sir?
PostPosted: Thu Dec 21, 2006 2:42 pm

*He'd not issued the order to fire. His crew deliberatley fired upon the oncoming ship without awaiting orders. Insubordination was unforgivable during battle, but at this moment, he'd let it slip. Escape was the key to survival. The Boadicea was a fifty gun ship. Compared to the Lady's measley 24 guns, the Boadiceas would pound the little brig into a bloody pulp before the end of the engagement. Blood would flow from the scuppers... this would not end well.*

"RELOAD AND RUN OUT! LOOK ALIVE MEN! BRAVELY NOW!"

*Assisting in the positioning of the guns as the guncrews heaved the heavy beasts into place, Jack grabbed the gunners iron and pointed the gun himself. Bringing the gun to bear four points abaft the beam end of the frigate, Jack set her down into her place. Watching as the guncrew poured the powder down her fluke, Jack cocked back the slowmatch and blew on it. The embers glowed with a red fury.*

"ATOP OF THE ROLL OF THE WAVES NOW.
POINT 'EM HIGH & AIM FOR THEIR RIGGING.
A DOUBLE GROG RATION TO THE FIRST MAN WHO CARRIES AWAY HER MIZZEN MAST."

*Jack's gun, being the foremost gun on the larboard quarter of the starboard gun-tier, would be the first to speak out. Having guessed the elevation, Jack made for her Mainmast. With all luck, her masts and yards would be carried away and the Lady Washington would have a higher chance at escape. If all went well, the Boadicea would be disabled and made unable to steer. If they made no way due to loss of sails and spars, her captain would soon find himself drifting onto the rocky leeshore.*

FIRE AS SHE BEARS!"

*Touching the match to the breech, the gun leapt back with a violent jerk. Having stepped aside, Jack's foot had still laid in the guns path. Luckily, only the tip of his boot was crushed as the gun-carriage rolled into her resting position. Wiggling his toes to make sure they were still there, Jack leant down and peered through the small gunport.

Peering down the muzzle, he watched as the gunsmoke cleared. Had he hit his mark? What damage had he done? Only time would tell. As the smoke drifted aft alongside of the ship, Jack peered through squinted, stinging eyes. The powder made his eyes water, but from what he could tell, his shot had struck home, but had little effect. The Mainmast still stood.*

Lord Admiral Nelson

PostPosted: Thu Dec 21, 2006 3:18 pm

"She's shooting to maime..."

"I'm sorry sir?" Mr. Mowett, the Boadicea's Acting First Lieutenant, had been standing next to his rolemodel for the last few minutes. Awaiting orders, he'd been listening intently to whatever words came from Lord Nelson's mouth. But today, something was different. Somethig was obviously distracting him. Troubling him even.

Turning now to his Lieutenant, Horatio smiled.*

"She's looking to take out our sticks, Mr. Mowett.
Let us close on her and make to board. Beat to Divisions, if you would.
Send word for Mr. Woods. He is to issue out boarding axes and sidearms to the men immediatley."

*The response came immediatley.
James Mowett had been long awaiting the moment of action.
Now it was upon him and he was off like lightning.*

"Aye, sir."

*Now standing alone on the quarterdeck, aside from the sailing master and the helmsman at the con, Lord Nelson watched as a cloud of smoke poured from the small brig's broadside. Shot whizzed overhead, striking the mainmast, but not mortally. Holes appeared in the Boadicea's sails. Her cathead and forward bulkhead disappeared entirely.*

"DAMAGE REPORT, MR. HARVEY! MR. HARLAND, MY SWORD IF YOU WOULD..."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 21, 2006 3:50 pm

*Aeoess looked down to the captain and John.*

"Soon we'll end up giving them hell the way you spoke of John but for now let's hope for the "escaping idea"..."

*Aeoess equipped herself with both her kitana and her dagger. And continued to fire at the men at the cannons. She kept killing them, but there always seemed to be more, regardless she had to continue even if she felt the odd were against everybody.*

"Miss Aeoess: Your a damned fool if you think I'm about to engage in yardarm to yardarm battle with the HMS 'Boadicea'. Not only is she larger than our dear 'Lady Washington', but she outguns us: our 24 guns to her 50. If you want to give your life in vain, feel free to take it... but at this moment, I'm thinking it better to run for our lives."

*Turning about, he called up to Mr. Vanstring. His voice was loud over the din of the gunfire and men working laborously to get the guns back into place.*

"Mr. Vanstring, inform Mr. John that he is to take in the flying jib and begin to pump water over the side.
We need to lighten our load so we may gain the weathergauge.
We'll bear-up, lighten our load and fly as fast as ever we can Nor'Nor'West.
Once we've gained a few nautical miles on them, we'll wear ship and bring her up five points.
Due North.

As for now, we'll do our best to take out her rig whilst Mr. John gets us underway.
Do ye' hear that men? We'll run like smoke and oakum."

*Looking out the portlid once more, he realized that had they waisted another moment, they'd of been doomed to the bottom. But now, they were gaining the upper hand. They were faster, smaller and could run inshore towards the shoals if need-be. But the Lady was fast if placed on a bowline... if they gained the weathergauge, they'd escape.*
