Random thought while creeping Facebook:
I have become really good at distinguishing genuinely happy smiles from ones that are only there because it's par for the course when there's a camera pointed at you.
Consequent random thought:
Up until the past few months, mine have been the latter.

So I found out today that my grocery store does, in fact, sell whole wheat buns.
This means I never have to go to Subway again and get vegetable subs when I want chicken ones because I mistakenly believe I can only get white rolls where I shop and refuse to pay $4 more for two ******** chicken patties.
:"""""""""""""D
brb making the best sandwich ever
EDIT: Okay, the second best sandwich ever. The best will be that without the cheese.

I want to go and get another bun for another incredible sandwich.
But I am tired. I should be napping so I can go swimming later.
But I don't think I'll go at this point. I hate being woken up from naps so I'll fall back asleep in all likelihood. And this dog bite hasn't completely healed yet and I don't have any bandaids. And I don't really want to shave.
These are all pretty shitty excuses, but eh, there's a free swim tomorrow too. Way over on the other side of town, but I could take the bus or convince my sister and her boyfriend and their car to come along, since she'll actually be awake for this one. And it'll be an hour longer than this one. And I think it's an outdoor pool. :"D Also, four. Don't forget.Yep, that's what I'm gonna do. Sleep.

Let me preface this by saying I've grown up in the country; so I'm very much a small town guy.
Do any of you have tattoos? I'll be perfectly honest that I don't see any reason to get one, because whatever thing you're putting on yourself is going to lose it's significance eventually. Let's counter the immediate argument by saying that even if it is something that will remain important to you, i.e. the name of a deceased family member, or something you find very symbolic, you would eventually find better ways to express your dedication to that important thing; perhaps wearing a pendant they left you, or in the other case, carrying a similarly symbolic trinket.
To me, and my admittedly close-minded view of the subject matter, tattoos are "a good idea at the time" type of thing. But I also understand i grew up in a culture that grouped tattoos and gang violence together xd , so my thoughts are very biased.
So, If you have a tattoo, can I ask if you still like it now, and why you choose to express your appreciation of whatever it is in that way?

I don't do tattoos.
The scars I get from my enemies (and the demonic weasel in my backyard) are enough for me.

So, If you have a tattoo, can I ask if you still like it now, and why you choose to express your appreciation of whatever it is in that way? I see tattoos as a way to take ownership of your body and personalize it. Then again, my dad was absolutely covered in them so I've always seen them as a normal thing. Haven't gotten any yet because I didn't want them to be warped by the fluctuations of my weight, but I've picked out a zillion I'll want forever for when I hit my ideal shape and size.
My sister got addicted to tattoos though, and has quite a few that she regrets getting 'just for the sake of getting one'. But at the same time, she has a lot that she loves and wouldn't ever go back and not get.
I think that while they have to be carefully chosen, it is possible to find ones you'll consider worthwhile forever. And if not, in all probability you could get hit by a bus tomorrow, so if you like it today, who cares how you'll feel about it years from now?
