"Cerise Amour.. what a nice name. If you have forgotten, I'm Kiran. Kiran Chandrakant.. though, Chandrakant really isn't my last name." The gorgon rubbed his chin in though with his index finger and thumb, his eyes fixed onto the ceiling. "Well, I'm really not the type of person for cleaning but.. I could probably be a waiter at one of the restaurants here, or a bouncer for the soon-to-be-opening club. Hm, I thought I had to talk to the manager of this place for a job. Are you the manager?" Kiran thought it was a pretty dumb question to ask, seeing this girl was still too young to own an amusement park. But heck, the true owner of this place was 15!

Cerise smiled by way of introduction. "I know we've met before, but still, nice to meet you! Kiran is a great name!"

The sugary girl giggled at the thought of running a club. "Sorry, but no luck there. I can hardly keep track of my shoes, much less a whole club. Besides, I'm only 14!"

Of course, Cerise didn't want discourage a new arrival from staying so she added, "I'm sure you can find someone that'll help you though, eventually! I can help a bit with a room, if you'd like." She frowned slightly, asking, "Did you really sleep on that couch all night? Doesn't sound so fun!"

Before one of the snakes can poke its head out from under the hood, Kiran smacked it gently so it would stay inside. The gorgon cleared his throat a bit. "Hah hah, I kind of figured. Yeah, I'll try looking for the manager later on today." Kiran glanced over to the couch and nodded a bit. "Yeah, I did. It wasn't so bad, actually.. Better than sleeping out on the street or in a large cardboard box." He rubbed the back of his neck, grinning slightly. Money is what he really needed, so that he can buy himself some new clothes or something.

"You've slept on the street? And in boxes? Oh my gosh!" Cerise's eyes filled with sympathy. "You poor, poor thing!" Suddenly, concern overran fear, and she was able to look him full in the face. But the sight of the snakes caused her to lower her gaze again, with a sigh.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound like I'm pitying you. I know how awful that is, pity, I mean. Why, though? Where are you from?"

{Eek! Short, short post!}

No one has ever had sympathy, except for Coral, the one who had raised him, before. It made Kiran feel a little better. The gorgon simply smiled with a hint of sadness to it. "Well, yes. I came from some circus and was part of their Freak Show, obviously. I had to put up with their crap for two years ever since my foster mother died during a performance.. so I decided to run away, and try to support myself somehow. I found a flyer advertising this place, so I was hoping that I could get a job around here." His hands stuck themselves into the pockets of his jeans.

Ikue looked up at Bertram as he pulled out the presents and she stood up, making her way over to him. She smiled and took them into her arms. The kimono, black and white in color with nice flower designs at the base of it, was beautiful, the tengu was neat, and she can't wait to read the mangas. Ikue placed the tengu and manga books onto the table beside her and hold the kimono up in front of her.

"Oh Bertram.. You shouldn't have. Heh heh, now I can star in a Japanese horror movie."

Ikue must have looked quite hideous to Bertram, with all those stitches and the pale green skin. Her appearance didn't change that dramatically. Thinking about it, Ikue grew sad, and tried to keep that happy look on her face. The girl hugged the kimono to herself and lowered her head, her body trembling slightly as she fought back those tears.

"Thank you for the gifts.."

Bertram reached an arm around her, and, slowly, kissed her cheek. "You're welcome..." He said.

((EEK! TINY LITTLE POST!))

(( xd ! ))

Ikue's urge to cry finally came to an end once Bertram had kissed her on the cheek. The girl let out a small sigh and smiled a bit, planting a small kiss upon the wraith's cheek. "How was it? Your trip to Japan, that is.." Ikue kind of figured Bertram had gone to Japan, seeing the kinds of gifts that he had given her.

The words broke Cerise's heart. If she'd been able to look up without fainting, she would have hugged him, but instead was forced to stare at the desk. "I'm so sorry... I know you can't change the past, but now, your future will be brighter, huh? C'mon, let's get you a room!"

A smile graced her lips, despite the fact that her eyes were glued to the wooden desk. "Oh, and I promise I'll help you, ok? Get a job, I mean. As long as you have hope, life is bright, right?"

"Hrm? Oh... Japan was nice. The Master had to meet with some big-shot at Zoni enterprises, I saw Tokyo Tower... got some steamed rice and sushi, ate an entire fugu, was bullied by some evil witch at a bath-house we stayed at... The Master nearly got char-grilled by a dragon. Lots of fun..." he was clearly distracted, though.

Bertram wrapped his arms around her tightly. "I missed you... I'm so sorry I wasn't here..." he wished that he could cry.

"C'est la vive! ...Or however you say it," the gorgon said with a small chuckle. Yeah, I know my future will be brighter.. I feel so relieved right now." Kiran was glad that the girl wasn't too uncomfortable with him, and that he had someone to talk to. "Ah yes. A room sounds nice.. Maybe a room on the 1st floor or something."

"Wow, you sure had a lot of fun." Ikue said with a smile, whose smile grew even brighter when the wraith embraced her. "I missed you, too... and, um, it's... alright. I mean, I went through the experience of what it's like being, uh, dead. I guess it's a nice thing to add to my medium-in-training thing." The girl felt different though, and it wasn't the fact that her body was cut up into pieces, and put back together again. Ikue wasn't sure why, though..

Cerise nodded, searching through the drawers until she found a set of keys. "First floor? Ok, sounds great!"

Her eyes glowed brightly at his attempt at French, seeing as it was her favorite language. "Vie," she murmured, with a characteristic smile. "Now, come on, there should be a room right up the hall, according to the paper thingie."

Cerise moved from behind the desk, motioning for Kiran to follow as she headed out of the lobby and into one of the adjoining corridors.

"C'est la vie. I was close." The gorgon followed Cherry, exiting the lobby after her. Kiran observed his new surroundings as they walked, and he thought the place was pretty nice-looking. He then looked back at Cherry, now walking beside her. "How long have you been here?"

Cerise paused a moment, cheeks turning slightly pink. "Only about a week or so, a little less, I think. But I'm not lost, if that's what your thinking. Well, at least not yet..." Her soft giggling echoed against the walls.

"Ok, ok! I know where this is! Ok, so the room must be..." She turned left, and then checked the number on the door with a number on the key ring. "Yup, this one! Got it! Here you go!" Cerise proudly extended her hand and held out the key for him.

The room number read 1H. With that smile glued to his face, the gorgon took the key in his hand and unlocked the door. A satisfied look formed upon the boy's face as he scanned the room slowly. There was a television set, a bathroom, a nice comfortable bed, etc. "I think I'm going to like it here.. Heh, thank you for your help, Cherry." Kiran wasn't in the mood to get some rest, though. The boy wanted to do a bit of exploring. "Is it alright if you can show me around as well? You don't have to if you do not want to, but I haven't explored the place yet."

A smile played across her features as she answered, "If you want me to, I'd be glad to show you around, but I'm not the best guide. Consider yourself warned."

Cerise's look grew thoughtful. "What would you like to see? You've already seen the lobby and the bar... The amusement park, maybe? Of course, Mimi was saying we shouldn't go out after dark... But it's still light out!"
