It was dark inside the tunnel, well anyone with a brain would have been able to anticipate that, but Carter found the silence almost disconcerting. It probably had something to do with the fact that Team Rocket was so close…Man, he really needed to sort his issues with this darn organization out. All in good time though, all in good time. And now really wasn’t the time to dwell on it. Especially not when he had some oddly glowing crystal in his hands, traveling down some potentially dangerous tunnel.
Nope, best to keep his mind on his current surroundings. And this philosophy would come in handy as the first noises of a stranger pokemon met his ears. From the growling he immediately ruled out anything pink and fluffy, which was a bit of a shame, but what could he do. The hand that had been resting on Yero’s fur released, moving up clench in a fist by his side. ”Care buddy.” He muttered as they rounded a bend.
And that was when they came face to face with one snarling, one very unhappy Ramparados. The sight of the snarling yellow beast was intimidating enough, but to make manners worse it would seem that the pokemon was not alone as two smaller Cranidos stood snarling next to him. So much for it being Carter’s lucky day eh?
A small stream of curses flew from Carter’s mouth as he stumbled backwards, tripping over Yero’s tail. At the sudden movement the impressive figure of the Ramparados charged forward, teeth bared with an obvious malicious intent. ”YERO!” He snapped trying to scramble upwards just narrowly avoiding a powerful charge. The Ramparados hurdled past him disappearing into the darkness. Well that was one down…
”Defensive maneuver C7.” Just in time too as one of the Cranidos followed the larger figures lead charging at the hapless fire-pokemon. ”Protect!” As if Yero needed clarification on his orders geez.
Yero moved into action curling himself into a tight ball, giving off a soft glow as the Cranidos bounced harmlessly off. It seemed stunned, and Carter took the advantage to shift from his position on the floor to press himself against the cavern wall. ”Fire isn’t going to be too helpful here! Let’s see if we can confuse them, Agility!”
Yero took off bounding from one wall of the cavern to another, streaking through the legs of the Cranidos, literally running circles around them. The one with a more natural pattern, blue and gray attempted to charge at Yero, only to find itself tripped by a well played dodge. However, the other Cranidos had wised up to Yero’s ploy and had begun to disregard the growlithe, heading straight for Carter. Gulping, the ex-officer shot forward attempting to mimic his pokemon, scrambling towards the only thing that could defend himself at the moment. The crystal he had dropped only moments ago. Fingers clutched around the cold surface of the rock as he rolled into an upright position, staving off his opponents teeth with his ‘torch’.
”Yero, that’s good enough Take down!” The pokemon complied using the wall of the cave to rebound towards the Cranidos at lightning speed, hitting the pokemon square in the side. It gave out a loud cry and toppled forward onto the ground. ”Seal the deal.” He managed to gasp out, still struggling to keep the oddly colored pokemon away from him with the torch, ”Iron Tail.” Yero skidded forward from his take down attack once again twisting in mid movement so that he was charging towards the Cranidos once again. Leaping as high into the air as he could with out bumping into the sealing, his tail began to glow. Flipping forward into a rather graceful summersault, Yero brought his tail down hard on the Cranidos’ back, sending the pokemon tumbling against the wall out of commission.
”Good boy, gimme a hand.!” But again luck would not be on the officer’s side as an enraged shreak echoed off the walls signaling the return of the Ramparados. ”Aim to confuse, DOUBLE TEAM!” Carter had managed to push the Cranidos off of him, sliding under the pokemon’s legs and rolling to safety just as five copies of his beloved partner appeared.
”There ya go, agility once more.” The copies of Yero took off at top speed hurtling around both the Ramparados and the Cranidos. Stunned the pokemon attempted to attack the copies, managing to take out eighty percent of them before Carter could react, but he already had a move up his sleeve. ”Dig now!” The original Yero tunneled its way underground while the Cranidos and Ramparados were occupied with his copy.
Frustrated the Ramparados charged forward taking out the last of the copies and fixing its glare on Carter. ”NOW!” Before the pokemon could react Yero shot from the ground right beneath him, excecuting his attack with perfect aim and sending the pokemon flying. ”Take them both out, FLAME WHEEL!” Still in mid jump Yero let out his flame attack, the whole cavern becoming alight with the flames as the engulfed the two pokemon infront of him.
Yero was out of breath, and staggering as he attempted to move out of the way of his own attack. He had taken a rather nasty bite off of the Ramparados when he had been wiping out Yero’s copies. ”Buddy!” Darting forward he scooped the pokemon up with one hand, ”This fire isn’t going to last long.”
Really, there was only one way to make sure that they wouldn’t be attacked again. Freeing one hand he grasped at the pokeball on his belt and without aiming threw it into the flames as the began to recede, he could only hope that it would hit his target, and they would only have one more of the enraged pokemon to deal with. Because frankly, Yero had reached his limit, and he doubted that they'd be able to withstand another onslaught from both of the pokemon, even if they had sustained a fair bit of damage from Yero's attack.
"Come on please. Now would be a good time to strut your stuff lady luck." POKEBALL GO!

x_Nata_x In the distance Liam could see a strange figure up ahead, barely illuminated by the small red crystals embedded in the walls. Liam stiffened momentarily. Rockets? He didn't have any pokemon, but that didn't mean he was going to go down without a fight. Shifting so he was slightly hunched over the healer narrowed his eyes, tensing right before he charged, hoping to tackle the 'rocket' and gain the upper hand.
It was right before the impact that he realized it was not, in fact, a rocket, but Arin! Skidding to a halt, the other managed to catch himself on the wall with one hand just before running straight into the poor girl, his breathing erratic.
"Arin!" Seeing the dark shape run at her, Arin had instinctively thrown her arms up into the air, still frozen to the spot as she squeaked a bit in her fear. At the sound of her name, though, she managed to move her arms down just a bit and recognized the red head instantly. Embarrassed of the noise she had made just a moment ago, she was thankful it was too dark to see someone blushing.
"Liam, it's just you.. You scared me!" She said, attempting to wave her arms around but just hitting the walls and wincing. She was happy that it was him, and not some rocket or pokemon.
"I'm lost.." She said, realizing that he probably was too.

Liam winced at the sound she made, resting a bit against the tunnel. "Sorry..." he murmured, not liking the sound of his voice echoing against the walls. Damn. So she was lost too. This wasn't good. Sucking in a breath, he glanced back the way he came, looking back at her and nodding his head in that direction.
"Guess we should keep going..." He murmured under his breath.

Kris started down the path once more; she was getting wearier and wearier with each second that passed. She whirled around with her crystal at every little noise, even going so far as to jump back, crashing into Paix and sending them both tumbling to the hard cave floor with a cry.
She had laughed at herself then; she had Paix! Why oh why then was she so scared? She grinned and hugged her pokemon. "You keep me sane in times like these, buddy." She stiffened and pulled away from Paix as she heard what sounded like a roar coming from the path she was traveling down.
Should she proceed? It seemed a bit risky. She had no idea what was down there, and she could get hurt! But then again, what if someone was in trouble? She wouldn't be able to live with herself if someone got hurt because of her! She had to go. Kris slapped herself and nodded. "I'm going! Paix is here for me, right buddy-" She was about to say more when she was cut off by panicked screams. Kris gasped and started to run. "Okay, buddy! Now we HAVE to go over there!"
Kris skidded to a stop when she reached a large room. Her crystal couldn't light the whole room up, and she sighed wearily. "H-hello?" She turned towards Paix, who was busying himself with stretching his wings out as far as they could go, sighing contentedly. "Paix, do you see anythin EEP!!"
As she turned back towards the middle of the room, her stare was met with that of three large pokemon. "Ohmagod OHHHMAGAD!" She backed up into Paix, looking around. "Ohhh that's...These guys attacked the pokemon? Or was it the other way....Well...Rockets deserve stuff like this!" She slowly walked behind Paix, making sure to keep eye contact with the pokemon.
"Okay, Paix. I want you to use Sunny Day, alright? The light should blind them for a few seconds(They do live in a cave, after all). That's all we need!" Kris murmured.
Paix nodded and let loose a cry, unleashing his attack at the three pokemon before him. The rampardos let out a roar, smashing into the walls as it tried to alleviate the pain. The two cranidos stumbled on their feet, squeezing their eyes shut with moans.
"Paix! Use Gust! Use your strength on the cranidos! Quick, before they recover!" Paix crowed and thrust his wings out, catching the cranidos off guard as a huge gust of wind crashed into them, sending them straight into the cave walls. They sat there, slumped as they tried to regain their bearings.
Just as Paix drew his wings back, he was slammed into the wall by a Takedown. He fell back down with a squawk, glaring at the Rampardos that was staring at him. It lowered its head once again, preparing a Headbutt to smash the Ho-oh into the wall.
"That's NOT going to happen! PAIX! Use Extrasensory!" Paix crowed as the familiar psychic energy surrounded him, pulsing around him in a multi-colored glow. He nodded to the Rampardos and the blast shot out, catching the other pokemon and sending him straight into the wall. "Wait for it, Paix!"
The cranidos were making their way over to the fallen Rampardos, grunting at it. "Okay, Paix! When they stop, use Solarbeam!" Paix nodded and tilted his head back, letting energy gather into his mouth as the two Cranidos stumbled over to meet their leader.
"NOW, PAIX!" The beam shot out, lighting up the whole room as it engulfed the three rock types. The light faded slowly, revealing the two Cranidos laying prone on the ground in front of the Rampardos. The Rampardos growled at Paix, malice in its eyes. It seemed weary on its feet, but it was still standing!
Before Kris could get a command out, the Rampardos had Paix against the wall with another Takedown. He kept slamming into the Ho-oh with roar after roar. Maybe taking out the cranidos first wasn't a good idea, but there was no time to ponder about that! "Paix! Use Gust to get it off you! QUICK!" Kris was panicking slightly, trying to calm herself down. She watched as the Rampardos was thrown off of Paix, but it steeled itself and stood its ground.
"Okay, buddy! I think you can finish it off with Extrasensory! GO!" Paix didn't take the time to let the energy wash over him. He felt it build up quickly and released it with a roar, sending it straight into the Rampardos and slamming it mercilessly into the wall.
It didn't stir. Kris sighed in relief and ran over to Paix, throwing her arms around him. "You did soooo good, buddy! Good job!"
The safari ball fell from her belt and clattered to the floor. Kris stared at it for a few moments before releasing Paix and picking the ball up with a smile. "Well, it couldn't hurt, right?"

Luna walked through the tunnel curiously, wondering what awaited her at the end. Chirper had stolen the piece of crystal she had been using as a lightsource, the bird pokemon had taken a liking to the shiny crystal instantly and decided that he must have it. The swablu was now happily chewing on the crystal letting out small "Bluubluuu~"s of delight. The crystal, it was all his. HIS. And he refused to share.
The trainer, however, was not so happy. She was busy squinting ahead to make sure she wouldn't run into a wall or anything, that would surely be painful. All she had to see infront of her was whatever was left of the small crystals on the cave wall. She sighed. "Chirpeeeeeeeeer...Can I pleeeeeease have the glowy crystal ba-"
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!"
"s**t! SOMEONE GET OUT THE TRANQUILIZ-"
"ARE YOU OK-"
"CRANI! DOS DOS!"
Both the trainer and her pokemon went on high alert as they heard sounds of screaming ahead of them. "This doesn't sound good." Luna said to Chirper, stating the obvious. She broke out in a run, totally forgetting that she was half blind in this cave. So it was not surprising when Luna tripped over the arm of an unconscious rocket.
Luna flailed at the sudden loss of balance and Chirper left her shoulder to avoid the fall. "Who-owww..." Luna muttered as she fell on her knees, barely able to catch herself in time. She heard her swablu yelp out plenty of "BLUBLUU!"s of warning. This wasn't a good sign. Luna looked up, spotting a large rampardos staring down at her.
"Crap." Luna ran, darting to the left. She needed to get some cover...the rampardos could probably easily spot her and she could barely see them at all. "Chirper, MIST!"
"BLUU!" The swablu's eyes glowed blue as mist started to shroud the mines. The large rampardos and both cranidos started to look around in confusion. Why was there white clouds in the mines? Apparently, they were not experienced with many moves since they spent most of their days in the cave.
Perfect. Well, she had bought herself some time at least. Luna felt Chirper was still on her shoulder. She still had her protection too. Now to think of a plan. A plan.
"DOOOOOOOOOOS!" The rampardos yelled, slamming a tail onto the ground and making the mine shake. Yup, she really had to think of a plan. And fast.
A grin slowly crept on the trainer's face as she remembered her previous experiences during the journey. She had a plan. "Okay, Chirper, wave your crystal and use protect!"
The swablu looked at his trainer doubtfully. Why did he want to show off his crystal and lure the wild pokemon to them? Oh right. That was probably what his trainer wanted. Chirper waved his leg that was holding the crystal into the air. Come heeeeeere wild dinos!
"DOOOOOOS! RAAAAAAAAAAM!"
All three pokemon practically leapt at the red light, only to hit the barrier and be repelled. Luna smirked. Stage one complete! "Now use safeguard!"
Chirper nodded, his eyes glowing as he created a veil of energy around the three pokemon. The rampardos was the first to snap from its dazed state and immediately thrashed on the safeguard barrier again. "RAM! PAR! DOOOOOOS!" It bellowed, ramming constantly. But the attack held.
"And one last attack~Toxic!"
"BLUU!" Chirper opened his mouth, releasing fowl purple toxic on the three pokemon and poisoning them. Luna sighed in relief. The poison would eat the dinosaur pokemons' health away slowly and they were safetly contained in the safeguard.
"Good job Chirper...NOW can I have the crystal back?"
Chirper made a raspberry noise.

Arin nodded, sighing again. So they were both lost. At least they had someone to keep them company, right?
"Yeah, probably. Only enough room for one person in front of the other, so you lead the way!" She said, laughing a little but feeling rather uneasy all the same. There was still a chance that a pokemon or rocket could show up in the dark passage, and she kept herself on high alert.

"Hi," Fin panted, coming to a stop next to the other trainer. She chuckled. "Well, to be fair, you scared me a bit, too. Thought you might be a Rocket." The trainer grinned. "I'm Fin, and this here," she continued, gesturing to the Delibird in her arms, "is Cadeaux, or, rather, Caddie. Nice to meet you, Kayla, Hea." She shook the trainer's outstretched hand and nodded to the Girafarig.
Caddie sat up as much as she could to inspect Hea, and peeped her approval and greeting. "Deli!"
"Well, shall we continue on together?" Fin asked, gesturing down the tunnel. "Safety in numbers, you know."
