Ben continued to study Akito but his face was never once mean or pushy, mostly it was very collected and slightly stern but in a polite way. When he heard Akito's side of the story, he hope in his heart that this was true. He wanted to believe the boy since he had no reason to lie but his body language threw that out...there was something more but he wouldn't say it.
Okay then...good luck getting Hikaru home, I think he tends to like it here. But I know about what happened in the village....
He let his composue harden slightly as he took a drag in from his smoke and blew it out. He spoke back in a quieter voice but his eyes showed he was serious.
Understand this...if you intend to harm Synge in any way...you will regret it. That woman means more to me than my own life. If someone tries to hurt someone who I hold so dear...I will make them regret it....do we understand each other?
His eyes were attentive and unwavering. He wasn't trying to come of as threatening but if people would rip out her eye, what else would the people there do to her?

*Keira sat on the couch quietly wondering what she should do. She felt a little out of place sitting there all by herself*

Jeff nodded and then looked over at Ben, he was acting weird...weird in a way that he couldn't understand. He had never really known his brother to talk to people like he seemed to be with this young man so hopefully he wouldn't lose his cool.
Taking a deep breath, Jeff got out of his chair and waited for Zac to return.
Yeah...talk to him and see what he thinks...I'll do it if he's game. And you're pretty cool for wanting to hook us up! Thanks for that. I might be back...we'll see..
He then approached Ben and patted him on the shoulder and whispered so quietly no one but he could hear it.
Don't lose your cool...if it gets crazy...I won't be here to back you up...
With a knowing glance, he nodded at Ben and headed outside and back to his boat dock. Soon, he was back on the sea again.

*Akito nodded when Ben said that Hikaru was probably going to stay here, he was perfectly aware of this.*
Yeah...I know.
*He was starting to feel a little more at ease, but then Ben continued to speak. Akito's eyes widened and his heart sped up. He felt like he was frozen there. He hated this kind of confrontation. However, once he thought about it for a moment he realized this guy was kind of pissing him off. He looked at Ben's eyes, as his own flashed white for an instant.*
I understand you...but don't assume you understand me...I don't plan on hurting Synge so just calm down.
*He looked away now, feeling irritated and still a little nervous. He looked up to the stairs, thinking that he should go talk to Hikaru soon. There was a lot on his mind, Ben was the least of his concerns.*

As Keira sat on the couch, the sound of the ashes sparking and popping in the fire were audible. She might happen to think of Ash's words yesterday.

*Hikaru up feeling strange instantly. He looked around the room, confused that he was alone. Had he slept a whole day? He stretched, wondering what he might have missed in a day. He stood up, showered, changed, and headed downstairs. He slipped on his shoes as he looked to see who was around. He saw Ben, which was a bit odd. He never knew how to act around him now. He saw Akito, and got a little nervous. Ben wouldn't like him much. He saw Zac and Keira too. Busy day! He stood up, went over to Akito and put his arm around him, smiling at everyone in the room.*

Hey, you two stop it! Ben, quit being all machol and showing him who's boss. You said it yourself that if he intends to harm her or anyone, he would be thrown from this tavern. Freaking relax would ya?
*Keira turns away a little pissed at the situation and notices the fire popping. Her mind flew to Ash and she smiled but was still a little frustrated*

Hearing Akito openly say he didn't intend to harm Synge was all he needed to hear to cease his edge. Again, he wasn't sure if Akito could be trusted but he always believed to let one work on their honor until they gave him a reason otherwise.
Don't worry...I only understand what your actions tell me. So long as you aren't here to hurt Synge then I have no fights with you. I give everyone their word as a mark of honor until they show me I can't trust them. Sorry if I come across harsh...but my love's safety is the most important thing to me. I think we can see eye to eye. Do you?
Ben didn't even really hear Keira's statement and even if he had, he wouldn't have any response. When Hikaru showed up, Ben smirked as he put his arm around Akito.

*Hikaru tugged on Akito playfully and smiled at Keira.*
Nah, I've got Akito here, what else could I need?!
*He looked at Keira a moment, wondering how she was feeling today. He would try and ask later if they could get some time alone. He looked at Ben and tried not to feel too weird. When he heard the way he was talking to Akito he got a little annoyed, but he knew that this was just how Ben was about Synge. He held his tongue and smiled, tugging Akito again to comfort him.*
Not bad, where have you been lately Ben? Hiding? Heh.

*Akito heard Keira and he felt a little better. It was nice to have someone being nice to him. He didn't say anything about what she said, but he looked at her kindly, as if to say thank you. It helped his confidence a little. Just then, Hikaru came downstairs and put his arm around Akito. His eyes widened, feeling incredibly awkward because of everything with Clever. However, at the moment, it did make him feel a little better. Hikaru helped him calm down a bit, he looked at the ground, breathing deep.*
*When Ben spoke he shrunk a little. He didn't think he could actually talk to Ben, he was too harsh. He looked to the side and saw Keira smiling at Hikaru. Then he looked up at Hikaru, wondering what he was thinking. When he tugged on him he felt better, but blushed. He spoke to Ben, but his voice was small.*

Ben laughed lightly at Hikaru's joke and it was obvious to Akito that he was calming down quite a bit. The air was starting to feel a little lighter too. He nodded and looked up at Hikaru
Well, I am glad he makes you happy, hopefully I don't scare him off like I almost did to you. But where I've been? I am up here almost every morning but you guys never are awake and by the time you guys finally come out of the woodwork, I am already too tired and go to bed. I am looking at some night management candidates to come in though so it might make the place a little smoother.
Even though he sounded a little more resolved, Ben was sure that Akito didn't really see and he was just trying to be polite. However, Ben had already been harsh enough so he didn't say anything more. He just nodded calmly at Akito.

As Keira turned away, Ash, appeared on the couch next to her, close enough to make her feel a little warm. Were she to turn back around, she would see him sitting only a foot or so from her. His arm was on the couch but were she to lean back, he would actually have his arm around her. He couldn't help but smile at how little fabric was covering her legs but he restrained himself.

Scare me off? Heh, you'd have to do a lot to do that. Hmm, I see...well I was up earlier a few times this weekend, I didn't see you anywhere...or Synge for that matter.
*He shrugged and looked at Akito. He seemed a bit off today, more so than usual. He looked at Keira when she spoke, he thought he heard her say something, but he couldn't hear everything. He saw Ash, but didn't saw anything to him.*
