Samuel walked through the shattered wall, looking around at the state of the party of Hunters. Drawing the phase sword and hefting it in his hand, he asked Takeshi if the priority was capture or elimination.
((Whee! Finding excuses not to kill people is fun))

Linda turned around. Takeshi grinned at her. "Kill if you want, capture if you can, I guess. 'Specially the lady, for the capturing." He snapped his fingers and several corpses around the group rose to their feet. Gertrude assumed a ready stance.

Samuel smiled. "Neutralization, then. Very good..." He snapped the phase sword to attention and began walking forward, chanting.
((Venom my man, would you give me a target overview? Also, conversation in the OOC seems to indicate we have the same name.))

Paul whipped around and fired a deadly accurate shot at Samuel's stomach. It happened in as much time as it took Devath to read that sentence. ((Which is thoroughly established that Paul can shoot pretty dang well.)) The skeletons all whipped about and opened fire with Fireflak ammo, ideally decimating if not the enemies then their surroundings without a doubt. "Oh s**t. Get me out of here guys," Joe groaned. He raised his gun again and began to fire at the zombies.

((Accuracy and speed are tradeoffs, Bayer... In this case, that kind of speed is silly, especially since you guys should have started reacting to my presence when the wall blew up.))

((Wait wait wait, explain. I mean, if we were reacting already, then it makes sense that he could have taken the shot quickly and accurately. I understand your other point though, and I agree with that.))

((THIS POINT IS ABOUT TO BE AN IRRELEVANT ELEPHANT ANYWAY))
The shot, which would have barely clipped Samuel's side, was annihilated by the field of destructive energy he had summoned.
The zombies continued to rise, seeking weapons from their surroundings. Joshua punched one down, splattering its head against the metal floor.
((Devath is also an Alex?))

((I was referring to the fact that his wording and his previous posts indicated that he was preoccupied with something else, and someone that is facing away from the target and not in combat form would not be able to take a shot like that. That takes superhuman senses, analysis, and muscles. Sufficient training might do it, but I dunno. His description is over the top though. Adding adjectives, I believe, seemed to be Venom's job, or at least the recipient's job.
EDIT: Yep, I am. razz Also, I was arguing on principle. I was well aware the shield would probably work. ))

Samuel finished his chant, sending a wave of greenish bolts in the direction of Paul, Joe, and Sebastian. He blinked as the bullet disintegrated. I didn't think the shield was quite so potent.
Right... Samuel started another chant and started running towards Paul, sword ready to swing.
((Can I chant and conjure elemental stuff at the same time, since I'm a will-caster?))

((Yes, but it'd be enormously difficult - remember, the pronunciation is precise to the point of individual Hz of frequency. If you stumble at all on the pronunciation, the Sage spell fizzles. Feeding mana to both spells, while holding the sigil you need in your mind, while keeping the chant at the necessary precision... you could do it, maybe, but certainly not while doing anything else - even just walking or running.))
((Also, do you mean at Sebastian? The only other Sam was killed off by Abaddon because I didn't want to violate the One Steve Limit.))

((Wow. My bad. I thought that's what I'd wrote...))
((Also, Venom, Sam doesn't use sigils, really... I thought you remembered that. More of a mental imagery will-casting, really. Its been that way since the start... The split mana was the only hurdle I could see, especially with reflexively cast spells like the fireball. Anyways, the question was mostly to see how flexible Sam's combat abilities were at this point.))

((Well, on some level, your magic has to rely on sigils - it's just how the Warlock casting method works. The thing is, since sage magic is externally powered and sigil casting is internally powered, the mana split isn't even as big of a caveat as you'd initially think.))

((Wait, wait, wait.
Now we have to face another destruction shield.
How the ghetto do you even get past that?!
Straight up battering, I suppose...
Also, I'd like to defend that Paul's been shooting people with excellent accuracy up to this point, and that taking a shot while turning is only a matter of squeezing the trigger at the right time, which, with not even an insane amount of training, is by no means impossible.))
Paul backed away, shooting at the zombies instead of Sam.
Fyrin interposed between Paul and Samuel, his shield flaring orange... and his arm becoming translucent. He took up a defensive stance, one arm solid and prepared to bat away the incoming blade.
Darius, meanwhile, seemed disturbingly stand-offish. This could be shortly verified to be an attack charging, however. Which was, of course, trouble.
((It's fair to say that soul-grabbing penetrates shields, yes? Just as a phase sword?))
