Serenity smiled and followed Gion into the snow cave.
"You shouldn't be traveling in this weather," she told him. "Not with as little preparation as you've had ... not without some way to make a fire or keep warm ..."
She sighed. "Where are you heading?" she asked curiously. "The Borderlands?"

Yes but if the fear is that you are going to be attacked because of her... they are going to come to us.
Daemon pointed out.
And since wanting to kill you is on a high danger propority level, there will be a vision about that before they strike.

He nodded to Serenity ... yes they were headed for the Borderlands.

Serenity nodded. "I thought so," she murmured. "I'll travel with you until you arrive," she told him. "And then I want you to make sure that Ulrich and Ulani give you the proper winter provisions, you hear?"
She looked at him sternly, but the look was softened with love. So many disasters had already befallen the family ... she couldn't bear another.
Which reminded her ... he had said something about Elnara ...

Yes... pity Long isn't here... he would be good at interrogating them... which he has an odd way of doing it....
Daemon remembered the last time Long did and didn't know what to make of it.

Gion was curious to know what Daemon meant by that, but he refrained from asking and instead unsheathed the sword and held it out so that he could talk with his mother.
Do you mind being a conduit again? Gion asked Daemon hesitantly. I don't want to take advantage of you ... but it's just so much simpler ...

Serenity looked down at the proffered sword, then placed one hand on its flat. It was cold to the touch, but she seemed hardly to notice.
She looked up at Gion seriously. "What did you say about Elnara leaving again?" she asked quietly. "Where has she gone? Why?"

Daemon replied back cheerifully.
After all if I don't translate who will? Though... how are you going to explain this?
He was worried about how Gion's mother would react to hearing her daughter being driven away like she had.

Gion lowered his eyes. She has to know the truth, he told Daemon sadly. That's the only way I can see. You understand it all, right? What happened? Can you tell her for me?
Since if Daemon knew all about it, Gion wouldn't need to explain it to Daemon to explain it to Serenity.

Serenity was worried by Gion's actions ... he was upset about something ... whatever had happened, it had to have been big. However she said nothing, but waited patiently to be told.
Though Daemon's comment ... 'how are you going to explain this' ... had worried her just as much as Gion's expression.

Daemon coughed... though it was all mental and really he only did it out of habit when something like this had to be explained.
I'm not sure if you are aware of this Mrs. Serenity, but your daughter has the same ability to change shape as you did... and well..
He paused a bit.
She was attacked on her way back to the castle, what I mean to say is that she went to visit her childhood home and this valley and was attacked on the way back... someone... saw... and then told her family. The other brothers did not take the news so well, so she went back with the people from my world.
He then added.
Not well is an understatement....

Gion's eyes were blazing now with anger. Not well? he signed incredulously, thinking it to Daemon as well. He continued, They flat out refused to have anything to do with her! They were just like everyone else, they were horrible to her! Of course she went back with Kara and Donovan and the others, she wasn't wanted here! Not by them!
He ran his fingers through his hair and tried to calm himself. He didn't have to blow up at Serenity or Daemon, they after all were not the ones who were in the wrong here.

Yes well I suppose I could call your siblings horried little salvages who backwardly think that just because one has a power they are demons, since by my standard that would be the case. However....
Daemon pointed this out to Gion.
As horrible as they were to her, they are still your siblings. Besides... she doesn't need to know all the details, she's been there already than to drag that old thing out again and beat it.

Serenity's face fell, and she sighed. "Somehow I knew something like that might happen," she murmured. What did Gion say? she asked Daemon. I can't understand him at all ... but he looks furious ...

Gion handed Daemon over to his mother and crossed his arms stubbornly. Yes they were still his brothers ... but that didn't change anything. Elnara was still their sister and they needed to remember that, too. Gion had every right to be angry with his brothers ... his brothers had absolutely no right to push Elnara away like that.
