Kaya and Bonsai grew ever closer to the edge of the desert. Kaya knew that Mauville lay beyond the horizon and he waited patiently until he reached that horizon. He knew by now that his Poke'mon would do anything that they could to protect him and help him so he didn't worry too much about Bonsai. He was worried though that Tolkis might have been hurt when they had been blown away in the wind. He decided to have her looked at once he reached the Poke'center.

Kaya and Bonsai reached the desert's edge eventually and after Kaya got off of the Grotle's back, he returned him to his poke'ball. He attempted to walk, but the twitching feeling in his chest kept making him worry. He finally gave up on walking and called out Tolkis once more."Come on Kiss, can you give me a lift to the Poke'center?" he asked her. She nodded in agreement and landed softly so Kaya could crawl onto her back."Alright Kiss, let's get going." he told her, and she took off, carrying her trainer toward Mauville.

Kaya was currently sitting on a Hospital bed with a nurse and her Chansey working on placing a cast across his chest. He was beginning to get dizzy from trying to keep up with exactly where the guaze wrapping was at while the nurse pulled it tight. "Ugh. How long did you say I'll need to be in this thing?" he asked her."Well...since you only really fractured two bones and broke one....then you should be in this thing for about two or three months kid. I'm surprised you didn't do any more damage to yourself from the bruises on your back though." she told him. She snipped the guaze wrapping and started to wrap the casting agent around him, making sure to give his arms plenty of room to move around since, being a trainer, he would of course refuse to follow orders and take it easy."You'll be good to go in a few minutes, once the cast has dried and hardened." the nurse explained.

Kaya walked out of the Hospital and a few blocks down the street to the poke'mon center. He wanted to store his Duskull in his Box for a while and train Dendei, who hadn't been out in a long time. He made it and walked inside. He looked around for a moment, making sure he saw anything that could make his chest hurt but with the bottle of pain pills he'd been given in his pocket, he didn't worry too much about getting hurt. He wouldn't use those pain pills unless he absolutely needed them though. He walked over to the P.C. and booted it up."Alright Fatale, I'll you later, Dendei needs training for a bit ok." he told the Poke'mon in it's Poke'ball then made the transfer for the Nincada.

He reached a place where the tall grasses thinned out and called out the Poke'mon."Come on out Dendei. You're the star of the Show." he said as he tossed the ball into the air. "Nin ca da nin?" (What do you want?) the Nincada asked Kaya.

The ball bounced off of Dendei's hardened body once again, but this time he didn't move. He still winced as the ball struck but he didn't go anywhere this time. "Nincada nin ca da"(That one didn't hurt alot.) Dendei told Kaya."Just a few more tries then, and we'll let you rest, ok." Kaya told him. Dendei nodded and prepared for another try.

Kay and Dendei had finished training with his Harden and Dendei was resting by the water. Kaya meanwhile was looking for a few suitable objects to practice scratch on. He was also looking for a few objects that Dendei could fine tune his Sand Attack with. Leech life would have to wait, it was easier to practice that on other Poke'mon than on inanimate objects. As Kaya gathered up a small handfull of sticks he thoght out loud."I wonder how Chloe and Bray are doing in the Desert?" not really caring if he got an answer to the question or not.

"Alright, Dendei. Are you ready now?" Kaya asked his Nincada."Nin ca da nin ca."(You bet I am.) Dendei replied."Alright then pal. You see that stump over there?" he asked, indicating a dead tree stump on the ground, off to one side of them."I want you to practice your Sand Attack until you can blast a perfect Poke'ball symbol into the bark, ok." he told his poke'mon."While you do that, I'm going to have Kiss help me gather some things to train scratch with, ok". Dendei replied with a scattered blast of sand at the tree stump. It took him a few tries but he eventually figured out how much power to put behind the attack in order to peel away the bark.

"Come on out Tolkis." Kaya said as he tossed his Togekiss' Poke'ball into the air. As the red light faded away, the Poke'mon flew around his head a few times, then landed softly in his hair."Hello Kiss. I want you to use you Air Cutter on the tree branches. We'll be able to gather the fallen sticks for Dendei to practice on, ok." he told her. She flew up over him and looked into the trees and she drifted for a moment. A sharp breeze started to blow and gather into a ball infront of Tolkis. After a few seconds, the ball started to blast out blades of air into the trees, each blade slashing a half dozen sticks loose at least. Kaya ran about collecting the fallen sticks while Dendei continued to practice his Sand Attack on the tree stump.

Kiss landed next to Kaya as he began to stand the gathered sticks up. He was planting one end into the grond and letting them all stand up in small clusters, setting up rows off those clusters. After a few rows, he made the clusters of sticks thicker, eventually running out and moving back over to check on his Poke'mons progress. He was startled to find Dendei resting by the water again and the tree stump littered with Poke'ball markings as well as the shapes of all four of the badges he'd collected so far. "Well, let's go eat, then we'll come back and finish training for the day, ok." he told his Poke'mon, who began to follow him back towards town.
