blakat1313 "I guess we had better get moving," Cy says, "who knows what your target has been doing all this time." He leaves the graveyard and waits outside. There are three paths in front of you, one to the right, one to the left, and one straight ahead. "Which one do we take?" Cy asks. Taking some time to think I point to the towards the left. Lets go that way Cy. As for that target of mine knowing his kind he's probalyhiding in a rat hole.

Steven: "Well, this rathole is incredibly well protected." Cy says, "that or this whole search is meaningless, I guess we'll see." As you head off towards the left, you notice that a great deal of things seem to be damaged. Many of them are on fire or seem to have been at one point. Ther are also things burned by acid, frozen and just completely destroyed by unseen force. "I think this is the mages quarters." Cy says, "this seems to be evidence of them practicing their spells."
The street is lined with shops, many specializing in having spells cast on the customer, there's also one selling spell components and one that sells potions, rods, scrolls, and other magic devices.
Lizz: The castle is incredibly well decorated, after seeing the horrible conditions of all the other places, the castle seems to be trying to offend people with it's gaudy design. The main courtyard is filled with plants from many different areas, many of opposing climates. Arctic plants sit next to cacti, and marsh plants are in dry soil, clearly magic was used to keep them alive. At the far end of the couryard you see two human guards by a large door and a catfolk dressed in all black.

yeah, I was thinking about holding you there somehow, but decided to just keep the meeting place the same. Now you're about to just miss Shane.
Have fun with the guards.... The guards look at you with disgust. "And just who do you think you are," one of them asks, "You can't possibly handle this job! You're a pixie! Now why don't you just go and run along with the rest of your little friends and leave the fighting to the big people?"
The other guard says nothing, but clearly regards you with the same distaste.

Well at least we know we're in the right place. I say aking note of the damaged buildings. You'd think that the mages would fix these damaged buildings after all it was them that caused it.

"There are several more spells that cause damage, than those which fix them," Cy points out, "most mages think that their spells will be used in combat and don't worry about repair spells." Cy wanders towards the potion store and goes inside.

I turn to walk away and draw my bow. I aim it at the first guard and chose to use my sleep ability. then I repeat and do the same to the second.

oops, I forgot, you don't know about that rule....from now on, don't do that. These guys will tear you limb from limb. I use the Oblivion system where guards will always be 10 levels higher than you, and elete guards are 15 levels higher.
The guards look at you with mild amusement, and they both burst out laughing. "Just what was that supposed to do?" one asks through fits of laughter, "You trying to put us to sleep? I told you once, pixie, go back to the mages quarters. We don't need or want your kind here."

I look at the pixie in amazement on how some one so small can have so much confidence, I look around for a bench or somewhere to sit down while in the court yard and start to act like i am just looking at the plant life.

I accompany Cy inside the potion store, putting only a few feet between us. Yeah I know what you mean, I can't stand the way some of these arcanist use magic so eracticly as if it were a toy.

Zaku: You don't see anybody else behind you, though you notice that the plants have small plaques under them saying what they are and where they come from.
Steven: "magic goes to people's heads like that," Cy says, "most divine spellcasters don't get like that because they realize that their magic is a privelage and if they fail to earn it, they'll lose it. Arcanists generally just think of magic as something they've earned and use it however they wish."
The potion shop seems to be little more than several shelves filled with potions, they fill the room and are on all the walls. There are even shelves flanking the door you just came through. A halfling peers at you above a set of distilling equipment and says, "What can I get for you?" "We need healing potions," Cy says, "and a lot of them. Let's start with the best you've got and work from there." The halfling runs off and returns with several potions, none of which have labels. These potions all have a faint white light about them, though. It looks similar to when a healing spell is being cast. The halfling uncorks several of the vials and sniffs the contents. "It seems we have two potions of heal critical wounds" he says, "6 potions of heal serious wounds and 8 potions of heal moderate wounds. I'll give you the lot for 8300 gold." Cy hands over the gold and gives the potions to you, "I'm afraid I didn't get a pack when I was sent out and never had this much to carry." he explains, "You'll have to hold onto them until I can get one. That shouldn't take long, we found the mages quarters with relative ease."

Okay then, Cy let me give you some gold for those potions. I say as I put the potions in my bag. I know we could easily find the market, espeacialy in a town like this things seem to be easier to find.

"keep your gold," Cy says, "I have little use for such things, really I don't know why I carried around so much of the stuff to begin with. I guess I just assumed it would be useful someday."
Cy walks out of the potion shop and looks at the roads outside. There are a lot of back alleys, but only one road seems to lead out of the mages quarters. It's the same one that you took to get here, though it continues on.
"I should've known," Cy says, "the houses are getting much nicer up here, clearly the town square. This would be the way then. I'll be back in a bit, you might want to get a few more things, I know that rangers can't cast as many spells as druids and I'm not sure how many you've got left."
He begins down the path.
