==== ☠ ==== The Reaver smiled slightly. "Well let's get a little more comfortable while we talk about it," he told her with a mischievous grin. Without another word he easily lifted her up by the hips and walked over to the couch, sitting down and placing her on his lap. He kept his hands lightly on her hips but he wasn't holding her in place. "There we go," he told her still grinning. "Much more comfortable."

Ellise blinked in confusion before Reaver picked her up "Matt! Wha---" Ellise turned a bright shade of red as Reaver sat down with her on his lap. She quickly looked away from Reaver with a frown on her face though she looked like a tomato from how red she was.

Ellise's frown deepened slightly as he asked the question, she seemed like she was about ready to school him. "You compliment a girl. Make them feel special. 'Oh you look really good in that outfit the other day!' Stuff like that. You talk smoothly until the girl practically melts in your arms and then you proceed to sleep with her. That won't work on me," she explained. Her blush was still there but it was fading rather slowly.

"I've been living with the enemy, doing my best to keep you alive, making sure you got away, risking my life by feeding intelligence to Umbra, letting you get hits on me, keeping away from you for your own safety and making dangerous journeys to meet Umbra in secret. All of it to get in your pants. But at the culmination of all my work, at the very final hour before victory, you have figured out my nefarious plans from a single compliment and now it was all for naught."

As Ellise listened to The Reaver, the frown practically fell off her face and she began terribly regretting what she said. She still wasn't used to the real Reaver. She was so used to the one that he pretended to be to keep her safe. She was silent for a while before looking down at the ground, looking pretty regretful "Sorry..." she said finally, her voice was rather quiet now.

Ellise continued staring downwards silently and didn't say anything else for about a minute. What would she say now? Obviously she would just explain she wasn't used to the real him yet? No. That wasn't the truth. It wasn't him rather it was her. "I'm... not good with that sort of stuff..." she said finally. "I mean... getting close to people... Over the years I have had too many people I considered friends die or end up betraying me in some way... by the time Miles died, I... I sort of shut myself away completely. It isn't you necessarily... if it was anyone else, I would be on guard as well. I can't even get close to Umbra or Scarlet, I draw a line and I won't allow myself to get passed that..." she explained. "So now if anyone is ever nice to me, I automatically assume they have some ulterior motive... I go on the defensive without even consciously knowing it... So yeah..." Ellise didn't look at The Reaver. She couldn't bring herself to. Now that she had talked about it, her reasons sounded stupid and rather pathetic of her.

==== ☠ ==== The Reaver listened towards Ellise silently before nodding. "I understand," he replied quietly. "After everything I've done....it feels strange to be talking to someone for real. Someone who won't kill me if they find out whose side I'm really on. And I've honestly never been in a serious relationship myself. I mean, one I intended on keeping past a few nights." He shrugged and looked at her. "A lot of times....I doubted that this would ever happen. That we....well, it was just a dream and not something that would be real. You were a million miles away...even when you were right in front of me." He looked away. "I'm sorry about Miles. I wish I could bring him back. But..." he trailed off. "It's just us now. But I swear, I don't have an ulterior motive. You...you've been my motive Ellise. Protecting you and...." he trailed off again, this time remaining silent.
