Taima squeezed G's hand to get his attention, to bring him back to the task at hand. They were so close to the others now, she could see them waving and waved back with her free hand. Gargantuan could almost feel Nuk and Taima's despair, and the guilt was enough to cleave holes in his heart. He would not let them down. He wouldn't let their patience and love go to waste.
With a wordless roar that made no sound, that no one could hear, Gargantuan lunged up the rest of the stairs, refusing to stop until he was at the very top.
Only then could he drop his hands to his knees, panting from the effort.

Sammy already quickly rushed past and into the beyond. as far as Jing can tell the woman was on a mission. And he wanted to give her a kiss good luck before she went in. The others were approaching, slowly but surely and from the far reaches of the depth of the steps, something red was too. The voice had gown dim, silent ever since reaching the pinnacle, it seemed to have nothing more to say, as if resigned to its fate. it was empowering.It was a pleasing thought to know that maybe for this one moment, they had it worried for its well being. and to him, Jing felt it was time to give it a wake up call. He breathed harder, feeling as if he would drop and fall down all these stairs or be trampled by others after him, but he continued, Saliva at his side. He wanted to ask why she was with him, how she came to know he'd come here, and what she wanted in this life? She had to know, didn't she? Was she real, or were they just fragments sharing their time together?

More stairs, more people he passed, half running now, his heart hammering in his chest. He could pretend it was a battle, he was running towards a fight, somewhere he could make a difference, where he could translate the pain and anger into something real, something tangible.

So now they were 'bargaining'? Lan shook her head as she kept walking and the voice kept talking. Empty promises. This reality was meaningless. Happiness fabricated. She would take the true reality, even if it was harsh.

Now the Voice was trying to bargain. Terra couldn't speak, she couldn't hear, but she realized with a hint of amusement--the voice might have created her, but it didn't understand her.

Shut up.
Pleading would not save the voice, no matter how it begged, Rex would not stop, he would find the voice, and he would show it why it was wise to fear him.

Atropos couldn't hear it but she could feel the wetness of Candace's tears against the back of her neck. The woman was mouthing something, what was being said she wasn't sure but she hoped it made Candace feel better. Candace was praying, taking advantage of this quiet time to do the crying she wanted to do. There was no one around to hear her pain. The look on his face haunted her, it tore at her heart and made her feel like utter s**t. See only disappointment? Lan was used to that. In herself mostly but hey if it was with another? ******** yeah. The voice asked what she would gain and Lan gave no answer, her lips didn't move.
She'd gain her freedom, and that would be enough.
