Through the bug's defenses were something amazing ...as the tail would connect, but once more ...it was the explosion of the earth that sent her up. That kept her from harm even as her attack had missed. She had no clue how to end this match, what to do about anything as she was sent into the air before the tail once more ...her eyes locking on that single limb that stood out of the ground.

Her claws would crisscross each other as gravity brought her back down. Though she couldn't use X-sisscor ....she got as close as she could possible come as she used a double scratch in a manner that seemed to imitate that move. Her cut that would literally strike deep into the stone if she for once managed to be successful.

((You know I half considered an event roll which would have the Pokeball violently explode...but then for some reason I decided to be nice.))

Victoria would find her throw had been off considering the height and speed of the Nidorino. The ball would catch the Poison-Types ear, and even as he was being pulled inside he let loose an enraged roar. He knew quite well what was happening and he didn't like it.

The ball would hit the ground shaking violently back and forth. At times it would hope and skip, bouncing into nearby rocks as the Pokemon inside fought desperately to escape. For a moment the smallest crack began to form in the side of the ball, violent red-black sparks flying out and dancing about the sphere as it continued to shake. This creature fought to free himself with more vigor then perhaps any Pokemon before him...yet to no avail.

Back and forth the ball would violently shake for some time, the crack spreading without getting any wider. At least, the ball came to a halt, giving off a soft chime. He was caught, though likely only due to exhaustion. As soon as he was free, it was certain he'd lung at the girl even if faced with another opponent.

((Someones been skimming again. The tail was nowhere near her, he dove face first. sweatdrop ))

((Oh, and if you'd like I can handle Riku and Lucien, I am the one that sent them back here.))

Genn snorted slightly. Was this bug such a lightweight even the pressure wave from his heavy handed attacks was too much? Fine, then if he couldn't harm her during a defense, he'd just have to take her when she was coming right at him!

Without a second thought the Onix lunged toward the airborne Nincada. It was time to crush this insect with a rock, and he was that rock! Though the Nincada watched the tail, her biggest danger was from the head coming right at her!

((Then I will thank you in advance for being nice))

Victoria watches as the pokeball seemed to be on the move. Bouncing, spinning, and the pokemon inside fighting so hard as to actually crack it. Though it would hold, the pokeball would hold and the Nidorino would become hers ...as she watches the button go white. Glee showed on her face, this was afterall her first capture as she walks over and pick it up. The pokeball wouldn't need to be marked, the Nidorino had marked it himself. The scuffle across the rock floors have given it dents, scratches, and one more remarkable than the others were the deep cracks that showed how close she had come to lose it.

She love this pokemon already.

"Animus, that will be your name."

"Hostility is what it means in it's male form, and I believe you will be very hostile towards me." "Though, you will be quite useful too ....a perfect match to Aella, whom uses Sp. attacks only ...while you use regular attacks. Better yet, you don't have her same weakness, which makes your match even better." "Too bad, I had to capture you already weaken ....though we tried our best not to harm you, or I would let you out now for introductions."

She was talking to the pokeball as she said those words.

"Humph, that means you aren't dependable for battle."

Aella whom was walking back towards her on the ground rolled her eyes. Her tail wagging from one side to another ...as she thought that the girl had no idea how much hostility and what would happen the first time she tries to battle with that pokemon.

Though it sounded like they wouldn't be in a life and death situation the first time that ....Animus was called out. Yet again, one never knows for sure ...in such a situations. That was the only relief she felt as Victoria started to snuggle the pokeball to her cheek. It was a good thing for once that humans couldn't understand them.

"Well,"

She would say after a full minute.

"we are done here, let's get moving."

Her word came out harshly as she walks towards the tunnel's entrance. The pain sparkling suddenly from her wound as she took one step and shivered all over dropping to one leg. Yes, she can ignore it, the pain for only so long as she pulls the clothe away to inspect the wound. IT was gross looking, and she simply rewrapped with the same bloody cloth. She didn't have another, nor the equipment to do more.....she hated to admit it, but she hadn't thought that far ahead. Signing, she rubbed the sides of her leg trying to get rid of the pain. Aella leap back upon her shoulder then ...as she turns to peer down at the girl in concern. But there was nothing that she could do, nothing that either one of them could do at this moment.

Until she found that amber there was only one choice for her ...to go forward. Maybe, she will get lucky enough to end up in a place this time with things that can be used to help her. A forest would be nice ...for finding herbs to help heal.and since she was looking for ember it would be perfect.

With a limp she would continue forward.

(12 - 7 + 8 - 11 = 2dmg))

It would finally happen as she was caught in the air. The force of gravity slamming her downwards that she would be hit ....her body knocked to the side as she tumbles to the ground. This time she was hurt, but if the Onix was expecting a huge amount of damage he would be greatly disappointed. It had been a weak hit ...in the air the wind had helped to cushion even if she couldn't stop her fall as she turns back to the Onix and dug her claws into the ground. The counter-attack had been well placed, but he wasn't the only one whom could counter as she started at his body that was now exposed thanks to the attack. His length that was still facing heavenward, and his body that was still stuck in the ground left an opening she wasn't going to turn down.

Besides, she was beginning to think that maybe she had been aiming all wrong. She had been aiming for his skin, but it's the cervices inbetween those rocks that would give her the satisfaction of the cut. The satisfaction of finally causing some sort of damage to this pokemon, and she wasn't going to turn away from it as she open her jaws for a bug bite.

Through Jasmine kept her from making a single step forward ...the cat would miscalculate his stuck. His claws would strike shell...hards shell, and as her eyes seemed to glow red with that fact. She wasn't going to simply allow herself to lose ...she wasn't simply going to give up ....as her rage fueled her movements. Even trapped, even contained she wasn't going to give up as she tries to break free of her binding. As she tries to open her wings again and flap ....as she struggle harder and harder agains the noose. She was going to use gust and bust through that noose as she decides that nothing ...not even a counter-attack will stop her.

:::The girl was silent, but that certainly didn't mean she was being quiet, gritted teeth as she clung in and held the line, looking to the birds feet, pulling hard as now she tried to reel in the Vullaby, looking to tangle its feet now as she held back it's attacks!::

::Claudandas lpoked back just in time to see the effort renewed as well, while he admired the bird's spirit, he certainly was agitated how much this was taking to do, as he took another end of the rope, pulling it tighter as well as he'd look to ensure he didn't end up in the firing line... His eyes on the water once more... If this failed to hold her back still, he'd be looking to the water as an option from earlier!::

((Roll 1, Jasmine's 'bind', Roll 2, Claudandas))

It would hold ...the Vullaby was raving mad at this point. She still couldn't break free, she was still being contained. She hated this, she wanted the skies, she wanted freedom, and to have to listen to that damn cat's lecture simply because she couldn't get free. Her entire attention was on the binding now ....as she tries to pull free this time not of the binding themselves, but from the girl ...as she pushes backwards a bit.

If she can make her drop her hold she can avoid the attack ...of the cat as well ...whom has been enjoying this two on one match far to much for her liking.

She would push as hard as she could to get freedom.

((Don't thank me, this event only adds to Victoria's crimes. twisted ))

((Well that and the Nidorino actually has negative EXP.))

The Crater of Desolation

The girl would exit the cavern, the cool breeze kissing her cheek before whipping about her hair. What would greet her eyes was not the forest she had hoped for, but perhaps the most unlikely place of all to find any sort of tree. A crater. More then simply a depression, it was like the burrow of some impossibly huge beast; soon enough, she would find dozens of small ledges spiraled along it's length leading to the bottom, and at the first of those would be...an odd sight to say the least.

What the girl would find herself coming across was an imprint in the ground that looked like a blade had fallen there...two actually, and between them the faint impressions of a body. The ground was burned...charred actually, and covered faintly in ash. There had been a battle here...and if the warmth of the ground was any indication, recently.

Genn's tail thrashed about slightly as the Onix sought to free himself, the limb looking for a place appropriate for the needed leverage. In his haste, the rock-type had actually managed to get himself stuck this time. The earth groaned as the wait of the Pokemon shifted, his body turning about as he attempted to pry himself loose.

At last it would succeed as the Nincada neared...and then Genn would abruptly tip. He hadn't been aware of his angle when pulling out so forcefully, and now it seemed that excess momentum was being put to use. All of the Onix's weight flung in one direction, causing his body to roll...and he was heading straight for his opponent! It wasn't intentional, but the Onix was heading straight for the little Nincada in an obscure Tackle!

((Crimes that she plans to continue, but I just notices the lost of exp. Oh well)

The girl actually moan for a second at the sight of the new area. She had hoped against hope to find trees and found herself instead in a desolated place that made her head drop. Things were never easy for her, and if she thought it would get easier with time ...she was truly a fool ...as she took her first steps forward. To find amber, one needed a tree, so considering she was looking at a crater she had already concluded that this place is a dud.

Though what could she do now ...go back into the cavern? The thought of going back healing her pokemon and then coming back to the island did come to mind as being the thing to do, but she didn't feel like making the trek back just yet. Besides, she needed to see about her leg and she knew there was nothing there, but here there was sun, wind, and rain. The rocks would provide the base for moss to grow, and if she is lucky maybe she could find one that could help her ...and thus with a slight limp she started forwards.

Aella road silently. The sight of rocks and dirt didn't exactly bring her comfort as she went past the burned area. The signs of fire types ...and the pokemon couldn't help wondering if those were what she would be facing instead ...a comfort ....better than the one she might actually have to face.

(7-3 + 8 - 11 = 1dmgx2 = 2dmg)

The attack was meant to squash .....but it was pure luck that she was pushed aside by the counter attack. Her body taking damage from being tumbled once more ...as her defenses, that ninja defense, seemed to be all that kept her alive. It kept her from harm and punishment it would seem as something above would send a rock tumbling down next to her.

Though for the moment she would ignore as she decided to go forwards once more. The pokemon's body heavy against the ground was right on her level now as she tries to go for a bug bite.

This was a fight that the Onix was winning, but it was coming one ....piece at a time.

::Jasmine saw the bird now... not attacking the bindings directly... she was certainly getting a little smarter, maybe smarter than she hoped, finally having stopped fighting the binds and now instead testing the girl's weaker grip...::

::But Jasmine looked at their surroundings, the small stone ring, the bird backing away... if she let go, if she slacked at just the right moment... she looked to Claudandas...:: ...Ready?

::The cat nodded, claws at the ready, timing was imperative, everything here, and now... he leaned forward::

::Jasmine leaned back::

::The Purrloin pounced!::

::The girl let go!:: Pay Day!

::And the cat twirled in mid-air, with one single coin, into the air, then twirling still, hit the coin forward, looking to catch the Vullaby right in the middle of the eyes while it staggered back and jsut as Jasmine would let go!::

::If this worked, they'd let it fall back, they'd send the Vullaby back into the water behind them, even if she was free from Jasmine holding the bindings, she was still tangled in them and their weights!::

::Now was the real moment of truth!::

What would happen next was something of a surprise, something neither of the parties involved would have expected. Previously Victoria had seen signs of battle, but she had no idea just how close to another student she had truly been to another student!

The sounds of battle would echo amidst the crater and reach the girl's ears, shards of rock littering the path before her. What would greet her eyes first was a youth. A little older then her, and clearly taller, the boy had hair like ash and eyes which seemed to burn intensely as he watching something with his arms folded. In front of him, and surprisingly not the first thing the child would notice, was a battlefield littered with debris from the surrounding crater walls.

A massive Onix waged war against a Nincada, and although the heavier Pokemon clearly seemed to be winning, the rocky beasts blows were glancing at best. Again and again the insect managed to avoid complete destruction by a hairs breath.

The Onix didn't appear to be taking orders from the boy, and that in truth was the source of the deep frown upon his face. This was a partner ship, and although the Onix hadn't noticed the flaws in the Nincada's evasive tactics, Raven had...if only the stone behemoth gave him a chance to instruct him on it.

Then he saw it, their chance at victory...he only hoped the blasted Onix would listen. "GENN! COUNTER WITH TACKLE!" Raven shouted, his voice carrying well from his location. It was a risky move to be sure, but one which would be well worth the potential rewards.

Genn halted only briefly at the sound of the boy's voice, he wasn't accustomed to it, nor to taking orders; but he hesitated for only a moment.
As always he made his decisions in haste. The boy wanted him to attack, and in the few seconds he'd given it thought he could find no fault with the idea. Bellowing slightly, the Onix plunged forward head first at the Nincada. Time to see if he could do some REAL damage!

((It was too perfect to resist!))
