User ImageThe building crumbled; Avalanche fell; and Aren retained a less than satisfied look on his face when the command for the injured to go to the infirmary. Their little group had been one of the lucky ones apparently, and he silently wondered how many others had been subjected to battle scars during the riots. It marveled him that so many people had stayed to watch, when it was obviously a dangerous place to be standing. Avalanche could have turned onto the civilians at any time, and they'd not have had the defenses necessary to stay alive.

Kerri nodded to the command, and the corner of the native's lips curved upwards. “She can't see you do that, you know.” He teased, ever trying to lighten the mood – it was needed right now. But Kerri was adept at leading, instructing them despite his slight taunting... and led them through the debris and back alleyways to their destination. With every step back to the courthouse, Aren's muscles tensed, ready to begin another fight should the need arise.

But it went surprisingly well, no more incidents thrown their way as they trekked back. Magneto was hovering in the air when they got there, and Aren held in a sigh of exasperation. While he'd never come face to face with the black heart, he'd been at the academy long enough to know that crossing his path wasn't fortuitous in the least.

Ki'somma.” Aren greeted, eyes still light with the humor he always found himself to be in company with. “What's the plan?” He whispered, his gaze not on the blond, or even the fiery redhead he'd been fighting alongside, but fixated on the man who had a seemingly terse line for a mouth suspended in the air.

-----In the Dorm-----

Varis entered his Dorm after the mission shaking his head at how he had fallen behind everyone and ended up being left behind and had to find his own way back to the school. He changed out of his torn and soaked clothes as he looked around his room he changed into a fresh set of dry pants and a Staind concert T-shirt. "This should work." He said to himself and shrugged. "If not to bad." He began walking out of his room his boots making the distinct thump as his heels hit the tile.

He walked through the school remembering where he saw the different areas on the map he saw a few days earlier. He began popping his head to To Them These Streets Belong by Rise Against. He wasn't sure why the song popped into his head but he wasn't complaining as he walked and smiled as he trained the speed he could collect water from the surrounding air into his palm and creating a small sphere and releasing it and catching it before it hit the floor.

-----In the War Room-----

Varis entered the War Room as he allowed the sphere to dissipate and looked in as he heard his name from Tsukino and he chuckled his distinct Irish accent making him well known to any in the room. "Oi little lass I be here got left behind is all." He shook his head and looked around the room. "So can someone fill me in?" He said rubbing his head and not looking at anyone in particular but the floor and his boots.

User ImageThe Greek root for blood is hemo.  How many times had she gone over this? Even now, in the dark room of what felt like an abyss, a place of nothingness.. the word was hard to place, like her brain was purposefully being obstinate. Slowly the darkness transformed into a crimson hue – and while her body was soundly knocked out – the deeper part of her was aware what this meant... the idea of the color so far away...

She'd shattered her shields from within, and the result of it had caused her brain to begin to bleed within her skull, where the pressure would continue to build, squishing the soft tissue there. Almost immediately after she felt them break, her conscience was cut off from the world – the telekinetic had no way of knowing that her teammates had carried her dead weight out of the rubble, or even if they'd succeeded in stopping the explosion. What she did know, was the nothingness felt warm, sticky.. and faintly tasted like a shiny penny.

Easily, this condition could kill her... but even her sub-conscience couldn't place that fear. It was nothing, with the silence echoing, resounding through the endless realm of her mind.

Her body was marred with streaks of dirt, small superficial wounds in various places that had taken a beating in the mall... spots of varying color – from yellow to a deep purple – painted her flesh, and it was easy to see that she'd be tender when she awakened from her coma-induced slumber.

Warren's mouth formed a terse line as he hurriedly hooked her up to several tubes and machines; they'd nearly gotten there too late. She'd been lucky in some ways – the vein that had burst had bee n a centimeter above her brain stem... not much, but enough that she was able to continue breathing on her own without an apparatus to aid her. Though, she was plugged into one just in case the pressure increased n that area. It was always better to be safe than sorry.

“You knew better.” Warren whispered, filling one tube with Mannitol, and another with his own blood. Certainly, Elixir's healing skills would be by far more beneficial when it came to easing the worry that threaded itself through him; Aurelie needed fast care... but so did several others on the junior teams. His blood would have to be enough, in congruency to actual medical care. “You had to have known...”

But like most X-men, the blond had done what she'd felt was necessary to keep people safe. To keep those who had mocked her and bullied others safe from harm. For now... they'd just have to wait.

And hope that Aurelie hadn't sustained so much brain damage that she wouldn't wake.

Isabella woke up to sterile smells and the scent of freshly laundered sheets. It wasn’t an overly perfumed scent… Soft, like the kind of detergent that mothers used for their newborn babies. At first things were blurry… But gradually they seemed to clear. A nurse was taking an IV out of her arm, softly padding at the tiny pinprick with a cotton ball before applying pressure and placing a band-aide with hearts on it to secure it.

“Oh you’re awake Miss Stone…How are you feeling?”

The songstress tried to speak, but at first it was a mere whisper as she tried to fight through the drugged haze of her tired mind…Clearing the frog out of her throat, the salt and pepper haired woman gave her a kind, patient smile. For some reason, that smile absolutely infuriated her… It felt patronizing. She was willing to bet her new skirt and belt that she looked like death warmed over. How did the nurse think she felt? “I’ve been better.”

Feeling a sharp pain in her shoulder, she glanced over to see her arm covered in gauze…That was odd. Usually by the time she came to, Elixir was already laughing at her for her injury in the first place…It was usually completely healed.

“Ah…You weren’t the only one who needed treatment upon arrival. Joshua and Warren have been doing what they can to fix the worst of it… But the rest is up to regular medicine for now. Joshua healed your nerve damage after the bullet was removed… But fixing up Mr. Spencer took a lot out of him. So you’ll have stitches…”, the woman babbled on, not noticing that her patient was getting paler and paler. Isabella had a healthy tan… For her to be pale, was unusual.

What had happened after she’d lost consciousness? Everything was a blur. She remembered Christian and Daylia coming in to back them up…Remembered escaping Mystique…Remembered someone trying to patch her up. Leo coming towards her… Someone else carrying her… And then nothing.

Just blank, empty nothing.

“How…How long have I been out?”

“Not too long. A few hours at most, from the time that you arrived.”

“Only a few hours?”, Isabella repeated, her brow furrowing…That seemed wrong. It felt like forever. The songstress remained silent as the nurse prattled on and moved the tray over the bed so she could eat. Apparently, food was good for her considering the amount of blood she’d lost.

It was a little while later when the Colombian insisted that she be allowed to get up. She was exhausted… But all she had was stitches… Her enhanced hearing was picking up snippets of conversations from all over the Infirmary that told her not everyone had been so lucky.

Some team leader she was…A horde of new Alpha’s—And half of them were probably dead… Or would request an immediate transfer because her poor leadership had gotten them killed.

Dressed in a clean white tank and a pair of grey drawstring sweatpants that someone else had put on for her—Considering her own clothing had been torn and bloody… They’d likely just tossed it. She passed by one ICU area, recognizing the name of one of her newest Alpha’s… Aurelie… She was terribly injured, or else Warren wouldn’t look so…Mature. Adult.

There were doctors and nurses that worked in the clinic beneath the school running around like crazy.

Not wanting to interrupt her treatment or anyone elses, Bella continued down the hall looking for the rest of her team members. Her auburn hair was pulled up into a high ponytail on her head, honeyed waves curling about her shoulders. There were so many she didn’t see… Where was Leo, Reggie? She hadn’t gotten the message from Emma that those that were awake were to meet in the War Room.

She paused at Christian’s door, emerald eyes quiet as she opened it... Using her ability to silence the noise. He didn’t look like he was at deaths door now… But if he’d drained Elixir nearly in one go… He must have been shaking hands with the Reaper, and about to sign his contract.

She sighed softly…Unsure of what to say. He’d saved her life, and she just wasn't sure what to say… How to begin... And as she listened for a moment, she realized his breathing was even and deep. He seemed to be sleeping, so she held her tongue—Wrapping a bubble of quietness around herself as she wandered into the room. She took a seat by the bed and simply sat…Watching the boy rest.

She wanted to ask a million questions to the sleeping Omega…But it was all too much, too soon. And he seemed out like a light…She tried to organize her shifting memories again… But it just gave her a headache. Isabella decided to start remembering small things and work her way up…

Her emerald eyes seemed to shake, almost as if they were close to breaking…

Nothing was ever as simple as it seemed. Mystique brought back a sore spot for her…Bringing to her a rage that she’d otherwise not known. The blue woman was always trying to take things from her.

Even now… When Bella had been trying to do something good… Something to help a couple team members… The consequences were intense. How could she fix things, if she everything she did made them worse? No good deed went unpunished…For every good foot she put forward… The world shoved her back three paces… Why was it, that ever decision she made brought her team to this?

To being broken, disjointed.

Looking towards Christian her head bowed…Her poison was even spreading to the Omega’s now.

Narcissa would be sure to rub that in.

Catching the cross she wore around her neck habitually, she held it between closed hands…Eyes closing as she prayed for all of the injured. She didn’t do it often enough…Not nearly. She was a terrible example of a good Catholic… But she hoped, that if anyone was listening…They would take pity on the suffering around her.

The pain, she felt responsible for.

Perhaps the X-Men were wrong. If this was the result of standing up for their beliefs… What was the point?

Name: Emma Frost
Location: Xavier Mansion - War Room

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

One by one, the students made their way into the war room, her glacier gaze sweeping over each of them in turn as they made their way to their seats. Some acknowledged her by name or title, others were just completely silent - her gaze remained the same. Cold. All business. She could tell they were tired, beaten, and that much would have to be learned from this meeting. It wasn't often that the blonde psychic didn't know exactly what was happening to one of her student teams, that she didn't already have the plan of their opponents figured out and her mind already working to create some grand counter-strategy that would save the day. But, before her genius in strategy could even step in, she needed to know exactly what had happened at the mall, especially after the explosion that left one of the Alpha's newest team members in a nearly comatose state down in the infirmary. When Emma Frost wanted answers, she got them.

"Alright, let's get this started - I need to know what happened after the bomb was detonated," she said with a cool look across the room. It wasn't so much a question as a demand that someone speak up to tell her the truth. There was a small group that had been responsible for preventing the full-scale disaster this could have been if the bomb hadn't been contained, definitely a load off of her already over-stretched mind. However, there was more at work here than even she should see from her monitoring the situation. So, when there was momentary silence, her eyes narrowed ever so slightly, pristinely glossed lips pursing together.

"
There was a….a second explosion or something. We got the bomb, but there was a…rumbling, underneath the ground, and as we were trying to get Allegra out of there, it was like the floor was caving in behind us." Her attention rounded on the brown-haired form of Raine, the girl's gaze on the floor as she relayed the events following the bomb. Emma's own mind started to race, attempting to draw the pieces together - what did all this mean?

"
Headmistress, there is something here you need to see." An annoyed growl left the back of her throat as she rounded on Hank McCoy as he entered the room, extending a folder towards the blonde with one of his monstrous hands. Her glacier eyes moved from his face, noting a look of concern, down to the folder extended towards her. Her patience seemed to be wearing thin and she snatched the folder from him, flipping it open. Riffling through the papers, she glanced back at the Beast, her eyes slightly widened.

"Are we sure this is correct?"

"
I know, it's the most astounding thing. But those radiation levels are rising as we speak - they don't appear to be anything associated with the type of explosive we believe was detonated within Allegra's telekinetic shields. This was something else," he said with a tone laced with concern, the blonde Headmistress' eyes moving up from the papers before her to the group of student faces looking towards her. This was the missing link - there was more than just the one bomb - that was what the students had heard when there was a second explosion. Snapping the folder closed, her expression steeled over, gaze sweeping across the students.

"You will all report back to the infirmary immediately for mandatory radiation exposure tests. When your finished you may return to the upper levels if you're given a clean bill of health. No exceptions - go, now." Already, she was sending a psychic message down to the doctors in the infirmary, informing them of the situation so they could get things ready for the students. Her tone was never more than a standing order, not betraying the severity of the situation - until she knew more, there was no need to cause a panic. Whatever Magneto was up to - it was far greater than she had imagined.

Even in the downpour, Scott's visor glimmered with a red light as a grim, but almost smug smirk touched his lips. No matter how the Headmaster looked at the situation – it wasn't ideal. But it would have to do.“We have, what you might call leverage, Magneto.” He stated simply in his commanding voice, expecting that the magnetic field manipulator was paying attention.

After all, he had every reason to. “Your offspring for Senator Kelly and those you’ve taken prisoner with him.”

The senator in question, curled his lip into a sneer as he glowered at the X-men. For now, he said nothing, but watched as they tried to bargain like he was chip in a poker game. The building anger in his chest caused his nostrils to flare in a hot snort though, his coal eyes blazing with how much he detested the company he was keeping. Really, they all needed to be...exterminated.

Scott Summers ignored the man's expression, his gaze too focused on Magneto to take too much of the minor details about the Senator's happiness into consideration. The boy scout in him wouldn't allow him to say that it was exactly an even trade – the X-men would take the loss. But keeping the human safe was paramount. No matter what…They would have to relinquish the two fugitives for the safety of the public official.

Magneto floated several feet from the ground, arms crossed over his armored chest. His expression was none too kind, eyes dark and shadowed beneath the helmet that protected him from telepathic intrusion…”Yes, that is indeed what I offered. My children for this bigoted waste of space and his conspirators.”

“Though…If you simply tried to see my side of things…This would be much easier. I can protect you… All of you, like the X-Men cannot. The Brotherhood will defend you, to the death. This is a War, children…Don’t you want to be on the winning side?”
, If the Master of Magnetism wanted… He was quite sure he could kill those that opposed him, including the X-Men. But they were Charles’ Children…His favored ones. And for that, he wished to spare them…Unless they kept getting in his way. He’d offered them a place by his side when the War spilled into their deliciously unprotected school. They were strong… And he had many uses for strong, viable warriors. Charles Xavier always claimed he wasn’t creating an army… But looking at the youth before him… He knew differently.

Rolling his eyes heavenward in disgust with the boy scout attitude of Cyclops, he raised his hand and the round cage rose from the ground—Floating over to the X-men. He let it drop none to gently, and some of the men in the cage cried out in pain. They were a tangle of limbs… Bodies broken from being treated like the rats they were. Magneto scornfully left them in the cage. The deal was to relinquish them to the X-Men…Not to make it easy for them. “Now… Return what belongs to me.”

“I could just take them from you. It would be…So easy. Like taking a sweet from a babe. But I give you this opportunity… Join me. Join my Brotherhood…Join my family, and know what it’s like not to fear the humans. The next time we meet… You can inform me of your decisions. And we will meet again.”

“But as entertaining as it is to play diplomat with you X-Men… I’ve an appointment to keep.”
,
His hand raised again, and metal from signs and street poles reshaped themselves into long oval disks. They floated to the X-Men…Makeshift stretchers. They bowed inward slightly to be able to hold their cargo.

The terse line of his mouth thinned in correlation to his eyebrow climbing his forehead when Magneto started to speak…He’d always had a smooth tongue, and a way of saying things that made others want to follow him. It certainly didn’t help that he was powerful enough to try and ensure most of what he promised…Still, he was unsettled with relinquishing the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver… Making deals with criminals wasn't at all something he agreed to, but with no other viable option, he sighed, resolved to carry out the agreement. Scott nodded just once as they started. “We’ve heard enough. So be it then.”

He nodded his head at the Omega’s holding onto Pietro and Wanda, gesturing towards the metal makeshift stretchers.

Senator Kelly' evinced his displeasure by the tight line of his mouth as he listened less than avidly to them making their bargains, and snorted when the hovering man spoke of him. "I'll have you burned! Hanged! Decimated in whatever means possible!" He cried out with pure, unadulterated hatred that he felt for the mutant-kind. The loathing he felt dripped from his voice like water out of a faucet, unchanging with the direction it'd go.

His fists clenched in anger as he was handed over to the X-men; almost immediately, he began to shake... the tremors of which didn't reach his words. “You're no better than they are! Monsters! All of you!” He preached, his fury ripping through the air. “Unnatural freaks! Look what mayhem you've caused! Nothing but trouble!” And so his ranting went. Somehow, he was braver about speaking his mind when in the hands of the X-men, even if they were still the same sort of the other.

Had anyone been able to note the exasperated eye roll that Scott did, they might have realized that his patience was wearing thin for the man they'd just saved. The leader of the X-Men normally might have been able to contain himself, but injured and exhausted was another story. “You'd think, one day you would learn to respect those that risk their necks to help get you out of a bind.” He muttered, knowing well that things wouldn't change.

“Hanged!” The Senator repeated through gritted teeth. “Burned at the stake!” An archaic ritual to be sure, but most assuredly appropriate.

Magneto laughed as he withdrew—Floating backwards, towards the sky with only his children in tow. If the X-Men checked the wreckage for Avalanche later… They would find him missing. "Be sure to watch the news X-Men...You might find it interesting. Oh...And I would...Avoid the shopping center, for the next decade or two."

“Coward!” Scott hollered over the belligerent man...Not a hundred percent what he was talking about. But the cryptic statement annoyed the X-Men leader further. “This isn't over, Magneto.”

No... he knew well... that this was only the beginning.

Waiting until Magneto was out of sight, he gaze turned to Solaris and then Storm respectively. Cissa could burn through the bars. "Get them out of the cage... Storm, call for evac."

"We're going home."

Felix inclined his head to Roland as the man introduced himself. "I try." Watching as the large man advanced on the unconscious Scarlet Witch and held a blade to her throat Felix raised his eyebrow. He felt it was a little overkill considering the woman was out cold but then again she was quite the powerful one. There was also the fact that the man was holding a metal weapon when they were about to have a talk with Magneto. Clearly he wasn't thinking very clearly. That or he was simply moronic. Felix wasn't sure which it was yet. Cissa was quick to call the man out on bringing out metal weapons with Magneto around and the machete was abandoned. Then Narcissa tossed two straps of leather to both Roland and Felix. Felix caught them and looked down at the unconscious man below him before he quickly tied the man's hands and feet up before returning to his previous spot with his foot firmly on Quicksilver's back. "Done Solaris." Watching in silence as the senior x-men arrived Felix looked off in the distance where Magneto was.

Scott looked pretty beat up and Felix was suddenly very glad he had been fighting Quicksilver. He didn't want to look like the kind of hell Scott had been put through. His fight looked to be a cakewalk in comparison. Cissa informed Scott of the plan to use the maximoff twins as bait as the man arrived. It wasn't long before Cissa was told to gather the team and she obliged the senior x-man and called the other Omegas over. Eyes took in the approaching form of Magneto and his muscles tensed up as he prepared to move if the situation called for it. Despite having his children held captive Magneto made no moves to harm them. Surely he could take them all out if he was so inclined to do so? The way he spoke x-men made Felix slightly curious. He spoke of the coming war and then decided to offer them a simple deal. Felix removed his foot and bent down grabbing the bound hands of Quicksilver and using them to lift him up and onto Felix's shoulder carrying the man fireman style. It was obvious the deal would be made. They weren't ready for Magneto in their current state.

Personally Felix wasn't sure he would remain on the battlefield if the deal was not taken. Getting killed by the master of magnetism was not on his list of things to do anytime soon. It didn't help that the man actually made sense to Felix. The other Omegas arrived and Felix spared them a glance as he waited for the official order. Scott answered the request and Magneto again began speaking. The words he chose sounded so good. It was clear he was right. A war was coming and quite frankly Felix could see no way to avoid it currently. Public opinion was simply too low. Thinking over the words silently it wasn't long before the cage was brought before them and dropped it in no way gently telling them to return what was his. His next words were of no surprise and part of Felix was tempted to go side with Magneto on things. As he thought it over more eyes inclined to the ground Magneto informed them the decision did not have to be made today. Then making makeshift stretchers and floating them over to the x-men Felix looked to Scott.

He would wait for the official yes before returning Quicksilver. A nod his way all the signal Felix needed to walk over to a stretcher. Looking at Scarlet Witch Felix couldn't help but think It was too bad he had gotten stuck holding onto Quicksilver. Depositing Quicksilver on the makeshift stretcher somewhat gently Felix moved away from it and back to his previous spot. Eyes lingered on the unconscious forms of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch before the good Senator began his annoying yelling. Eyes full of distrust and slight hatred Felix looked at the Senator. Why they had to save him was beyond Felix. The police were understandable as they were just doing their job. The senator was another story. Felix had a mind to toss a large pebble at him. Just to see how fast he could throw it and how much damage would be the result if it hit the good senator in the forehead. Clenching his fist for a second Felix looked away from the eyesore and back to Magneto as the man left leaving behind some advice.

As Scott ordered Cissa and Storm to get the senator out of the cage finishing by saying they were going home Felix walked a little away from the group rolling his eyes as he mumbled to himself. "That went well." Stopping about twenty feet from the others he looked off in the distance thinking over Magneto's proposal and seriously considering it just so he didn't have to such demeaning things as save a mutant hater. Personally he couldn't wait to leave and get away from the revolting creature in the cage.

His eyes stared at the ceiling as the hottest member on the X-men's bum was on the benches in the lounge; his feet hovering over his sandals and a bottle of water occupying his right hand. His other two partners in crime from the mall were right beside him, munching on a club sandwich. In Dimitri's eyes they were likely worn out and hungry when they arrived here and thought that the lounge was a nice place to relax at. Just until he could figure out how he could send them back to their guardian. He assured them that they were safe back at his "mansion", Bianca was ok and that after they were finished they could start the search for their way back home. Plus he was a bit thirsty himself; due to him being out of most of the action, he was one of the few that was still at 100 percent. The Playboy bragged/lied to the kids about what he owned, such as his own swimming pool, art studio, everything to keep them in high spirits and to get their mind away from what just happened. It sucked, but it worked. His bragging came to a close when he heard his future wife in the future maybe told him to head to the war room. Those who were at the mall would be meeting up with him while the others who didn't do so hot would be at the infirmary.

"Bianca, don't be at the infirmary if I check there." he spoke mentally.

He hoped that the infirmary had almost noone checking. It made sense for Bella but otherwise, he wanted nobody to be there. "I'll be right back, me and my employees are going to have a meeting." he told the children before he asked whoever was working the lounge to do him a solid and watch over the kids till he came back. They didn't want him to leave but he told reminded him that they would be in good hands with the person working the lounge; that, and they could eat whatever they wanted. After that came out of his mouth the kids were ok with Dimitri heading to the War Room. Slipping back on his sandals, the Playboy headed over to the W.Room with his water bottle in hand, eyeing the bunch that were here with a smile, especially towards his partner in crime Bianca along with a checklist in his head that werent.

"Yeah...I'm still alive...sorry." he shrugged with a joking smile on his face before standing inside of the War Room, near the entrance, waiting to hear why they were brought here. It turned out that whoever set that bomb in the mall Dimitri was mad about missing on had a fetish and made another one. Or at least that was what it sounded like. In reality it was a rumbling under the ground. "Did Tara get a lil too excited?" he wondered. He knew she wasn't the cause. It was a joke that stayed in his head, since she didn't look like she was in the mood to speak. At least she looked good doing it. Other than that piece of information, things still weren't clear; the hottest member on the X-Men since Apple pie with hot sauce did not have a clue as to why today went down like it did. But the gravity of the situation increased when the word radiation was brought into the mix. Radiation... All because Dimitri's roomate, as marvelous as his background was, couldn't take a stroll in the mall? Even though Dimitri was certain that he was okay with radiation levels they all had to undergo the testing before they were cleared. Dimitri was just glad that he, along with the others were safe.

"Love you too Miss Frost." he shot back with a grin towards her demanding tone. No disrespect of course. "As long as they don't make me turn my head when i cough. Never know what they might be planning down there." he warned, making an attempt to light up the mood.

Omega - Infirmary - Unexpected company

To say the sleep that he had fallen into was a deep one would be a flat out lie. It was nothing of the sort. If Christian could have tossed and turned, he would have. The line that was replenishing the blood and the line administering the opiate did not allow him any such luxury. Nor did the pain that, despite said opiate, seemingly was only growing in intensity and in longer spurts of agony. But, he was still trying to sleep, trying to make the night stuck here in this damnable hospital bed go by that much quicker.

While he dozed off slightly, he knew he was dreaming, but he couldn’t quite make out anything. Anything aside from the strewn about bodies of all his comrades at the mall, from the incident not but an hour or so ago. The bodies though, despite Christian knowing who they were, were faceless and lifeless. But the others, the ones who perpetrated the slaughter were not. And Christian was the one left standing out of them all, little to no ammo for his weapons and staring Death right in the eye. It goes without saying that the events still unfolded the same way for Christian, what with Sabretooth pretty much decimating him, but if at all possible the villainous mutant appeared to be even more massive than normal…

“Oh my God!,” Christian exclaimed, his eyes opening wide in fright from the fresh nightmare. He shot up in bed straight… then immediately held his left arm to his side, jarring his injuries further. Moving his arm to his ribs cause him to groan to himself in pain, completely unaware that there was someone in the room with him. The sharp shots of pain began to ebb from him after sitting up the way he did, and he was able to actually open his eyes and look around. Much to his surprise, it seemed he had another unexpected visitor...

He didn’t know why he couldn’t just fall and stay asleep. He surmised it to be the intensifying nightmares, but that couldn’t be the sole reason, could it? Maybe it was the drugs. Or maybe, just maybe… it was the slight trace bits of energy he could feel slowly seeping into his body. Now that he thought of it, he realized Raine was loud enough to jar him back to the world of the living… and she was as quiet as a dormouse. It made perfect sense to him that Isabella could sneak in unawares… and as to how it was he was absorbing a slight bit of energy.

After Christian’s eyes adjusted to the dim lighting again, he turned his head and was able to see Isabella a bit more clearly than before. She had her eyes closed and she was clutching something in her hands, what it was, he could not tell. But, he was glad to see her up and about, the last time he saw the lass she was being carried from the mall with a gunshot wound. Though, he did wonder why it was she chose his room to sit in and not one of her Alphas. He knew he wasn’t part of her team, he was only part of the cavalry so to speak. And he knew that at least a couple of Alphas had taken some heavy damage.

Hey,” Christian said, his voice sounding more normal than before, but fatigue still clutched on the edges fervently. He wasn’t as tired as before, the energy he was slowly eating gave him a very tiny sense of vigor. “Whatever they gave you to get on your feet… they gotta surplus of that?” Even though Christian was relatively scarred, both physically and mentally, it was just his way to try and make jokes, try to bring an air of levity to the situation. Yes, he could dwell on everything and he knew he would do so on his own time, on his own dime. Perhaps him trying to resemble something of his normal self would assure everyone else that he would indeed be alright… as far as anyone would know. And that’s all they would need.

Seriously though,” Christian said to Isabella, “I’m glad you’re ok, that you ain’t hurt too bad.” He wasn’t sure she could hear anything he was saying, but he got a good glimpse at her face and how… troubled she seemed. He could only speculate as to why, and it wasn’t his place to assume anything at all. He was no mind-reader nor empath, but he could read people somewhat decently… or so he thought. Which is why it was what he was about to say would either be a dead on bull’s eye or a gross misassumption.

What’s eatin’ at ya, Isabella?,” Christian said, his voice lowering a bit, “Is it… this?” After he said that, he did his best to point over the bandages that covered his shoulder and torso, but with multiple IVs in his arm, he was essentially a walking paraplegic. As he did that, he tried to offer the woman a small smile, if anything just as a means of hoping to reassure the Alpha’s leader that he would be ok.

The deal is made.

Roland held The Scarlet Witch across his shoulders, ready to snap her like a twig if negotiations went south. Considering these were the children of Magneto, the premiere "Boogeyman" of mutant terrorism, this was very unlikely. Despite this man's reputation, no father would ever truly let his children be captured like this. He hadn't exactly had what could be called a true father, but he knew well enough how one should act. And if this man was any good at being a parent as he was being a human-hating terrorist, he would without question give in to their demands.

Besides, Roland wanted to get rid of her. Having her within his reach to kill became far more tempting with each passing second. Roland was a killer, that went without saying, but at least he had the nerve to look them in the eye. She killed dozens without batting an eyelash. And these were, relatively speaking, decent people. True they were pointing guns at her, but they were reacting to the grand display of destruction Magneto and his lackeys caused. These people were still people, and they didn't deserve to die like that. No one did.

Though to argue that Magneto was wrong, to say that a war wasn't coming was to be living a fantasy. He was right, war was coming. Human's fear of mutants was reaching a boiling point, and it would explode soon enough. This whole situation was a powder keg, and Magneto is waiting for the match to be lit. Though with his words, he didn't agree with his ideals. Sure, he believed in protecting his kind, seeing that mutants were not exterminated but at what cost? How many people would die to serve that purpose? Murder to prevent murder did not make that much sense in his head. What Magneto would eventually become, or perhaps he had already reached that point, was the very same person Senator Kelly was: a genocidal, bigoted fool who would watch the world burn in order to see his ends reached.

Cyclops finally got a deal to go through. His children for the Senator and his other prisoners. He gestured to himself and Dart to release their hostages. He watched as Dart placed Quicksilver in a makeshift stretcher, and Roland followed suit. As he walked over, he gently moved the Scarlet Witch off his shoulders carrying her in his arms. He gingerly lay her within the stretcher, easing her head softly in. Despite his hatred of her for what she'd done, he did not want to give in to his urges. He'd been working too hard with Dr. Grey to mess this up. As he walked away, he heard the cage holding the Senator land with a thud. He kind of had to chuckle a bit, he had hoped but did not expect the level of treatment we gave to his children for these people. And hearing Kelly's ranting and raving didn't do much to stifle his humorous mood. He didn't like this, he didn't like him frankly, but he had to admit listening to him go off like that was hysterical. A man of power like him, throwing a tantrum like a child.

He'd heard the orders to get transport and that they were leaving, Roland simply stood there and waited until a direct order was given to him. He'd be happy to check on the injured in the cage, but that was likely not going to happen. With that man yelling, he'd probably go deaf.

My hearts longs for the ability to get answers!

❃❂❁❀✿✾✽✼✻✺✹✸✷ ✶✵✴❄❅❆❇❈❉❊❋❖❤❥❦❧ ☀

His answer to her question caused her own nerves to ease slightly. However, the tense anticipation of Mrs. Frost answering the silent question would not allow her to relax completely. Though, her head tilted slightly as he mentioned being a little radiated. “A little radiated? How did you get radiated?” She had no idea how his power worked. Thus, Alex would not piece together the fact his power caused him to get radiated at times due to overuse. “I hope that does not mean the rest of us got radiated like you did.” The French girl didn’t know much about the effects of radiation on the human body. All she knew was that getting exposed to too much of it would cause horrible consequences. I wonder if it could cause our mutations to become funkier or something. While the curious question went through her head, the eighteen year old did not voice it out loud. “But, I am glad you are fine otherwise, and you are welcome.” At times like this, she wondered what it would be like to not speak so properly. However, that lingering curiosity did not stay within her for long. For Eli started mentioning a person by the name of Marcel. Was that the guy with the water powers?

His concern for their fellow teammate was an admirable trait. One that caused the corners of her lips to turn upward into a smile. “I am sure he is alright. I do believe that strange man called Gateway was post to make sure all of the Junior X-men went through the portal. So, I am sure he is around here somewhere.” But where is a good question to ask. Was it possible Alex was wrong and Marcel wasn’t in good shape. That maybe, he was one of the Alphas that were in the infirmary. I hope he is not one of them. It would make me feel bad to get Eli’s hopes up, only for them to crash down. Luckily, his next question allowed her mind to let go of the possible mishap. An eyebrow rose slightly as she tilted her head at him again. Shrapnel? Guess I could have been near that and did not notice it…Eyebrows furrowed then, her arms crossed over her stomach. “I am alright, but I do not know what you mean about this Shrapnel. Guess my mind must have forgotten that detail…” Unless he is talking about Bella getting shot? However, Alex did not ask any more on the subject as she noticed others coming into the room.

She noticed Moonlight coming into the room. The sensory adaptor gave her a nod of acknowledgement as Moonlight went towards Glitter. Her hear turned and listened as Moonlight asked Glitter a question. Who is Varis? Unlike Glitter and Moonlight, Alex had not met the cryokinetic. Thus, to her, it was just the same as when Eli mentioned Marcel. Two people she knew she should know, but unfortunately did not. There seems to be a lot of people on this team I have not met yet. I need to fix that as soon as I can, starting with the team leader. Then, as if fate was giving her a helping hand, Alex could hear a distinctive Irish chuckle. Her blue green orbs looked to see a male that seemed to be addressing Moonlight. I am guessing he is Varis. His question to the group was one Alex wasn’t sure how to answer. She didn’t know the exact moment he had gotten left behind. Thus, the French girl had no idea how much he had missed. However, she knew it was a rude to leave a question unanswered. “Well, when did you fall behind exactly? Because depending on when that was….there could be either a lot you missed…or not that much…” Either way, what happened in the mall was not something easily missed by anyone.

Before Alex could hear an answer though, Mrs. Frost started to speak to them. The sensory adaptor turned to face her as she addressed the purpose of the meeting. It seemed to be one of those informative ones, where people informed the head about important events. In this case, telling Mrs. Frost what had happened after the bomb detonated. Her mind tried to recall any important details other than what had happened to Allegra. Then, Glitter beat her to relaying something strange that had happened after the bomb diffusion. The ground had started to rumble and it looked like the floor had been sinking into the ground. Thus, Alex nodded in agreement, her mouth soon moving of its own accord. “Yes. It was like the ground beneath the concrete had become like a strange form of...quicksand I believe it is called?” She wasn’t sure that was the right way to put it. The floor wasn’t breaking apart per say. It was just sinking at a slow pace. However, the sensory adaptor couldn’t take back what she had said. At that moment though, Alex noticed Dr. McCoy entering the room. Admittedly, when she had first seen him, his appearance had given her a bit of a shock. But now, Alex had grown used to his appearance. I just wish everything else was that easy to get used to.

She watched as the scientist handed Mrs. Frost a folder of some kind. However, Alex was unable to hear the conversation going on between them the two. But, something about Mrs. Frost’s expression did not settle well with the French girl. What is going on? However, Alex would not find out the answer to her question. If anything, when Mrs. Frost finally spoke to them once more, her order caused worry and more confusion to go through her veins. Wait what? Why do we need to get tested for such a thing? She looked over at Eli then, remembering his earlier comment about being radiated. Does him being radiated have something to do with it? Blue green orbs looked back towards the Headmistress as she told them to go to the infirmary. Now. “Understood Headmistress.” That was her only words towards Mrs. Frost before looking towards Eli. “Well, shall you lead the way, or should I?” Since it seemed all the Alphas had to go there for testing, she didn’t see why she should walk alone there. However, she had no idea that Eli was immune to radiation. Thus, he would probably not need the testing unlike herself. “Because either way, we will just end up at same destination.” At this point, Alex did hear a jest from someone(Dimetri) in the room. But, Alex paid them no mind as she waited for an answer from Eli.

ALPHA: Leaving the mall : Really? Radiation poisoning really?.

User ImageThe hydra agent before him really was stuck on the old him. Really did she think the old him would of given her any help? No if he was his old self the moment he even caught the scent of Madame Hydra on her she would of been dead. The old him wouldn't of given her a chance to speak. Nope he would of just killed her and went on his way. Hell she wouldn't of even found him if he was the old him. How could she of he wouldn't of stayed in the same place long. He was trained to leave no trail no trace. The only reason Hydra found him when they did was a run in with a certain villain by the name of Nathanial Essex aka Mr. Sinister. And by the sheer bad luck the man happened to know of Gideon and his connection to Hydra as the lost experiment.

She liked teasing him it could be a defensive thing for her similar to the way he sees Cissa's ill attitude. Cissa could be very different when not around others and she let the walls down.

He didn't say a word as she mentioned not bringing Hydra tech along with not stealing things. That was hard to believe, as on missions if she was sent on any one or more would of had a retrieval aspect to it. And if Hydra wanted something it wasn't something that was theirs in the first place. But bringing that up would be tedious and pointless so he didn't.

There she was bringing up the old him again. Really she really must not of read his files that well then. "I still send people running. I don't have to be the same emotionless weapon they tried to make me. If I were you wouldn't of gotten any where near me. Especially after saying my old name like you did earlier during the riot." He shook his head. The Contessa really did a number on this one. Granted he wasn't any better and when he went to Xavier's it was mostly to see the one that he was created from. He knew if that man could find a place for himself there was a small chance for himself. "What is freedom to you then? Really I would like to know."

"You can't accept that really?" Gideon didn't get this girl. Here she came looking for him to get answers. Now she was refusing to accept the answers she was given. "It doesn't matter to me if you accept it or not. Things are how they are. And if you think I am just a puppet on a string for them to make dance........You haven't read my file that closely." If she had she wouldn't of thought that. Gideon's mind wasn't an easy one for a telepath to gain access too, especially if he didn't want them to. Which 99.99% of the time he doesn't want them to. To control him it would take a good amount of effort and concentration to be maintained.

That was when she took off. Something Gideon wasn't about to let her do. He watched as she dodged his first volley only to fly into his second. There wasn't anytime wasted as Gideon moved toward the Hydra agent, well as she claimed former agent. As he was reaching down for her to pull her up and just toss her over his shoulder as she wanted, beeping caught his attention.

Gideon didn't need to ask who she meant by they. Nope only one group would be after her. More of Hydra was here. "Great just ******** great." Gideon said as he watched her attempt to get up unsuccessfully. Now it was time for Gideon to give her the benefit of the doubt. He picked her up uncaring of the wounds she had. She was under the Madame Hydra she had to of had worse done to her. Besides just because she was getting the benefit of the doubt didn't mean he had to be overly nice about it.

With her slung over his shoulder it was a simple thing getting to his car. Laying her in the backseat Gideon got in. The engine of the old mustang roared to life with a simple turn of the key. Peeling out of his parking space Gideon raced around the outside of the mall. Given the direction she attempted to flee he figured out where her bike was. Made all the easier by the agents of hydra being around it. Though it was odd none were heading inside they knew something.

No time to think about that he saw one Agent walking with saddle bags over his shoulder that had to be from Kat's bike. It was then he realized he still didn't know her name. Gunning the engine he floored it heading directly for the hydra goons. Opening the door with his left hand holding it just barely open while steering with his right. Caught unaware many dove out of the way including the one with the saddle bags who simply dropped them in his desperate move to get out of the way. Pushing the door open Gideon leaned over reaching out the open door scooping the saddle bags off the ground. Tossing them into the passenger seat he pulled his door closed.

Gideon turned the car sharply putting the remaining vehicles as well as the large Hydra transport between them. Using it all as shielding from the gun fire from the recovered hydra goons. As he guessed all were outside the vehicle. Wasting no more time they were out on the rode. Even if they chased him he had enough of a lead and knowledge of the area to get away. That's when he felt it. Something wasn't right his body was fighting something. It wasn't something he was injected with or anything. It took a second then he remembered the feeling. Magneto used a dirty tactic he released something heavily radio active. It couldn't of been from the bomb that Aurelie and the others dealt with. No he would of noticed sooner. Sure it wasn't something fatal to him and he was there longer then the others. Hydra had dosed him before with high levels of radiation enough to kill one not like him a few times over. It really wasn't pleasant.

When he got back to the mansion he was on his comm before the gate opened. Using an open comm on the senior xmen's frequency. "Someone might want to bring a couple radiation suits out front. It appears something dirty was used at the mall since my body is reacting and fighting it off. Oh and I have guest that might need treatment for injuries as well as for low level radiation sickness. And having a telepath scan her mind and putting a power restraint on her wouldn't be a bad idea either." Gideon said without getting out of his car. It was times like these he wished they set up to drive right to the lower levels so he could of at least been underground further away from the general populace of the school. Given the day they have had one of the senior staff would hear their comm and bring the requested items. He didn't know exactly how much radiation he was dosed with so he didn't want to get any of the others sick because of it by just walking through.

Bianca had been totally unprepared for how to respond to Raine as the brunette explained why she was so angry. She probably should have agreed with Raine considering Bianca did know where she was coming from and agreed with her. It wasn't right that they should be hated for only doing the right thing. That they should be brought so close to death because of it. Still Bianca remained silent keeping her gaze to floor the whole way to the war room. She figured Raine probably needed the piece and quiet.

It also left her time to think over everything that had happened. Plus it allowed her to conserve what little energy she had left. Her whole body ached. Each step just a little harder than the last. Her head turned to look at Raine for just a few seconds before returning to the floor. "Sorry about your friend." After her condolences she fell silent for what little traveling they had left to do to arrive in the war room.

Once inside the cool gaze from Emma told her talking probably wouldn't be a good idea. She didn't want Emma getting mad at her or anything of the sort. Naturally from the gaze she shrunk towards the back to remain out of sight still not taking a seat. She wasn't sure she would be able to get back up without help if she did. Fatigue still ever present. Others piled into room and Bianca watched them exchange some small conversation while waiting for the meeting to begin. Eyes avoiding looking in Emma's direction.

The form of Dimitri arriving was a welcome relief that eased her mind. He looked perfectly fine which meant everything had went according to plan with it came to the kids. She felt a little ashamed and sorry she had left him to guard the kids and sent an apologetic look in his direction but still remained silent. Her eyes beginning to grow heavy and slightly burn. Reaching up with her right hand she rubbed them for a few moments before turning her full attention to Emma as the meeting began.

The question that was asked was something Bianca was more than capable of answering. The words already forming in her mouth however she hesitated for some reason. Perhaps it was her shyness but drawing attention to herself didn't seem like a good idea right now. Just as she was about to force herself to answer Raine took it upon herself to answer the question and Bianca was relieved she didn't have to answer. Another voice rang out and Bianca looked to the side to see Hank McCoy in the room. Watching the exchange between the blue man and Emma Bianca's eyes widening as Emma mentioned getting treated for radiation. Radiation?

Some of the others seemed to be discussing something but considering Bianca was already near the door and with Emma's words was quick to start walking towards the infirmary. Her pace quicker than it had been when heading towards the war room a certain feeling of urgency in her chest. Still she felt like a walking zombie just barely aware of her surroundings.

She bumped into an incoming person on more than one occasion muttering an apology as she finally arrived back at the infirmary. Her eyes traveling for any signs of anybody improving before she was being greeted by a woman to get her through the routine tests. Allowing herself to be led wherever she needed to go she was just looking forward to finally being able to lay down and rest.

(OutOfChocolate: Kudos and much love to Buni for the pics.)

Orchid did not bother giving the metal-coated berserker a response because, frankly, he wasn’t worth the time added attention she’d be giving him. If he did not understand the things that the idea of teamwork entailed, such as being there to assist your partner if they need help in a situation they would otherwise not be able to get through, then he had more problems in the near future. Unlike the cannon fodder’s mutant gift, her power offered no advantages against such opponents as the giant metal constructs the Scarlet Witch had summoned against them. Simply put, she could not do anything but evade, and one wrong move and she would no longer have been here to bicker with those below herself. Her attempting to fight the beast with her own power would have been the equivalent of a normal person whipping their hair into a car door. Her hair was an extra set of (possibly infinite) limbs, but none of them would have any special strength to aid in such a battle; she was many things, but not the Inhuman Medusa.

Upon taking the Witch down, it was not long before her luck so far had caught up with her. Before she could even know what was going on, she suddenly felt the full force of a truck slam against her ribcage not once, but twice. She did not even have a chance to see the unknown assailant fall before she was sent flying backward several feet. In a bout of typical quick thinking, she was able to cushion her fall only very slightly by wrapping herself in what appeared to be a very thing cocoon of her own hair, but it was not much more helpful than had she been completely nude. The strike was strong enough to send her rolling on her side several times as she landed on the ground, stopping face down on the hard wet concrete.

She raised her head with a painful wince, shrinking her hair back to the form it was in before subconsciously. She raised herself up with her arms, the entire time fighting off an immense pain from where she was hit. She did not know the full extent of her injuries, but she surmised from the trouble her body gave her when she so much as breathed that at the very least a few ribs had been cracked or even broken. To add to that she had many scratches and cuts spread throughout her body wherever her skin was exposed, but those were mostly superficial; nothing a mutant healer could not cure in a matter of minutes. Frankly, she was more upset about the many tears her uniform had sustained in her tumble, conveniently not in any areas that would have gotten her in trouble for indecent exposure, not that any cops in the area were breathing to give her such grief.

She mentally shrugged. If anything, this just gave her an excuse to work on a brand new costume, and that was always fun. Still, she rather liked this one, such a shame to have to throw it away so soon. She’d have to revisit the design at some point.

She held onto her sides tightly as she slowly made her way toward where the group seemed to be gathering. She took note of the downed Quicksilver being held down by the resident speedster, suddenly understanding what had happened. The rat b*****d hit her at top speed, likely in retaliation for knocking his sister unconscious. It was a shame to see that Narcissa was simply going to let him live, but for the moment there was nothing she could do about it. Instead she just gave the downed speedster a look of utter disgust, then proceeded to spit near his lying form in contempt. She then proceeded toward the others, standing with the group that seemed to double in size.

Orchid was only half-listening when the Master of Magnetism made himself known, as for the moment she was much too preoccupied with her injuries to care about the conversation between the Brotherhood leader and Cyclops. Frankly, she did not have to hear the mutant terrorist’s speech. She’d chosen long ago what side she was on regarding the human/mutant war that had been brewing for God knows how long. Humans simply were not worth the air they breathed, and needed to get out of the way so the evolved could rule the world in relative peace; the cattle should behave as such. For the moment, she was not with the Brotherhood because the X-Men had something she wanted, something she could not obtain from Magneto or his ilk. But the moment she had that thing, she would have no problem joining the mutant supremacist group or even snapping the necks of any X-Men that got in her way. But for now she’d be the tame little X-woman they expected her to be.

Though at the moment, all she wanted to do was curl up in a bed doped up on near-lethal amounts of morphine. It was getting harder and harder to breath by the minute. Her frustration only grew with the ungrateful p***k of a senator shouting out toward the group of mutants, the one that just saved his worthless pathetic life no less, as Magneto left with his children. ”I think that would be best,” she groaned through gritted teeth in response to Cyclops’ suggestion that they were going home, in a mixture of both agony and annoyance. She nodded her head in Senator Kelly’s direction. ”Otherwise-“ she paused for a moment to catch her breath. ”I’ll end up snapping the worthless piece of s**t’s neck myself.” Her words likely would not be appreciated, but frankly she did not care. She was in bad shape, and looked as if she’d pass out any second now.

Daylia stood there towards the back corner of the room, refusing to sit down. Well, it wasn’t that she was refusing, she just couldn’t. Her body wouldn’t let her. Her arms were still folded over her chest, the frown upon her face. She watched as the Alpha’s poured into the room. Some acknowledged the headmistress, and others were caught up in conversations amongst themselves. Some asked about other team members, though Daylia wasn’t sure what had happened to them, so she remained quiet. It wouldn’t be her place to give false information.

Daylia’s eyes went back to Emma as she began the meeting. It was about what happened at the mall, just as she had expected. Others rattled off the information, recalling what had happened. Soon the meeting was interrupted by the hulking blue furred man, Hank McCoy. She allowed a small sigh to escape her lips, waiting for the blond to finish reading the file McCoy handed her. She did not look happy at all. Daylia couldn’t help but arch her right brow in a questioning fashion.

It was the last thing Daylia had expected the headmistress to tell the group of students before her. They might have radiation poisoning? Her mouth fell open with a small pop as she looked at the blond teacher.
"You’ve got to be freaking kidding me. " She had said it a little louder than she had originally intended, but the statement still stood. Was that the big plain? To poison people with radiation? She drew in a deep breath before letting it rush out of her partly open mouth. She was trying to prevent herself from having any further outburst.

Daylia dropped her arms as she filed out of the room with the rest of the students. It would be just her luck that she would have been touched by the radiation. There was a scowl on her face as she moved, her mind wandering to this and that. What would they do if someone had gotten the radiation poison? Then there was the matter of the Omegas still out there dealing with the Magneto fiasco. As she waled she began to crack her knuckles, missing the rings she had slipped off her fingers before going out to the battlefield.
