Hmm... On that thought, do necromancer's minions continue to rot after being bound?

I've honestly been having second thoughts about that skill since I wrote it, but i still feel as if it's needed.

But to answer the question, it only marks them, making it possible to summon them, without being revived already. So most likely Stasis would be used along with it, as it doesn't work as it's own summoning technique.

Minion summoning is a C ranked skill in the necromancer list, this just marks the corpse as a minion to be summoned by the skill.

~

Think I should redo the corpse burial to allow summoning? It's wonderful for hiding minions underground after all, but could be a pain to go back for them. Then again it's mainly for hiding corpses you can't use yet, like Mikhail. *Innocent whistling*

No, from what I understand once you have bound the Minion into your service and can use it, the undead will never rot away. And yeah, sure, go edit that.

flaming: All of your red skills I can't accept, because they are skills that only go with one specific custom weapon. To get those techniques properly judged you have to resubmit your weapon with all of the techniques included in what you want it to have.

Kirigakure- Accepted

Kiri Shikaku- Denied, this skill cannot be passive. My suggestion would be to make it last for however long Kirigakure stays in effect.

@hinote and ronnel: Stop. How are these techniques any different than the skills we already have? Because this sounds like hinote trying to use the same revival skills we already have but with a lesser cost and without limitations.

Is it a Free Skill: Yes
Type of Skill: Dim Mak
Skill Name: Confusion Strike
Rank: D
Limit: Stage One
Skill Description: Utalizing chi as a weapon, the dim mak practitioner strikes the target's head with their hand or fingers on the side. This will release a small amount of chi, and will cause the victim's vision to go blurry and unable to tell friend from foe. These effects last three posts

Is it a free skill: yes
Type of Skill: Dim Mak
Skill Name: Delaying Sight
Rank: C
Limit: Third Stage
Skill Description: A technique that is deadly as it affects the brain of the opponent. Imbueding negative chi into their finger tips, the user strikes the temple of the opponent. The chi is released and attacks the brain. For the next two posts, all attacks to the opponent appears to be five seconds slower then they really are, making it deadly if extreme caution isn't used.

Need someone who isn't Ronnel to have a look please.

Username: Pad Chief
RPC name: Arturia Irongut
Is it a Free skill?: Yes
Type of skill: Paladin
Skill name: March of the Crusader
Rank: E
If it uses ammo how much: None
Limits: Cannot be used twice in a row. 5 minute (post) cooldown. The Paladin must not show cowardice during a fight where they plan to use this skill. They may not attempt a retreat or use underhanded tactics.
Skill description: As a Paladin marches forward his every step becomes imbued with holy energy. Their footsteps literally glow where they walk. Walking over the ground where a Paladin has used this skill causes extreme nausea to evil beings and while it doesn't damage them it does debilitate them. It means that most evil creatures will find it incredibly difficult to gain ground on a Paladin.

Those of a higher rank than the Paladin will find it easier however

Username: Pad Chief
RPC name: Arturia Irongut
Is it a Free skill?: Yes
Type of skill: Paladin
Skill name: Aura of Hope
Rank: E
If it uses ammo how much: None
Limits: The Paladin must have experience in battle. Killing one monster ,NPC or RCP in RP is required for this skill.
Skill description: The Paladin's anti-thesis to the Aura of Despair. An uplifting feeling comes from the very core of those around the Paladin and gives them courage. Paladins usually activate this skill before going into battle with allies or when consoling allies for their losses. It does not affect the Paladin or affect the Shadowknight's Aura of Despair in any way the two ususally just exist separately.
It costs E ranked energy to activate and E ranked energy to deactivate but remains passive once activated.

Username: Pad Chief
RPC name: Arturia Irongut
Is it a Free skill?: Yes
Type of skill: Paladin
Skill name: Divine Pulse
Rank: C
If it uses ammo how much: None
Limits: Know 'Sense Evil'
Skill description: By taking the idea by sense evil and adapting it for more combat oriented purposes a Holy Pulse can be achieved. Instead of mustering a holy aura the Paladin should muster holy energy more suited for attacking and form it in the same way as the aura.

The holy energy is then pushed away from the body in a wave in the same way as in Sense Evil except due to its added power it stings unholy beings instead. The string is so minor that it won't ever outright kill unless the being is incredibly evil or incredibly malicious. Like an evil mosquito.

Unlike Sense Evil its purpose is usually to call unholy beings to the Paladin as a form of challenge or just to slow their movements for a small moment through jolts of sudden pain.

It expands outwards as a force field initially in the shape of the Paladin's body until distorting into a 3d shape alike to the Paladin's body although much bigger.

The pulse ends about 30 meters from the Paladin's body and mixes with the atmosphere.

This ability takes three minutes (three posts) to cool down.

Username: Pad Chief

Is it a Free skill?: Yes
Type of skill: Paladin
Skill name: Blessing : Holy Water
Rank: C
If it uses ammo how much: Ordinary Water
Limits: May only carry one litre bottle of Holy Water at any time.
Skill description: Blesses water with Holy Power. This water can be drank to remove poison from the body or to help soothe wounds of their severity if poured on them. Large amounts of holy water cannot be carried on a single person due to their extreme weight. The holy energy mixed in with the water makes it weigh ten times its usual weight and that's pretty heavy.

Username: Pad Chief
RPC name: Arturia Irongut
Is it a Free skill?: Yes
Type of skill: Paladin
Skill name: Hand of Blinding Light
Rank: C
If it uses ammo how much:
Limits: Must know skill 'Hand of Illumination'
Skill description: The Paladin extends their hand and gives off from it a beam of illuminating light that both blinds enemies and lights their way. It is impractical to try and look through the beam of light as its intensity is only slightly weaker than that of the Sun seen from a terrestrial viewpoint. ie: Really annoying.
Due to its relatively high energy useage it should ususally only be applied in combat situations or lighting up especially dark caverns.

Obviously it only blinds people if the light hits them in the eyes and by closing your eyes it will not burn them. Is is bright enough though that it still can't be ignored.

@Fenrir: What, the hell, are you talking about? The only one of these that even resembles an existing skill is the corpse burial, and it's the same rank as the one it resembles. There is no skill in the list allowing the revival of regular creatures, and I've designed it so it costs the same as the creature's rank. I can learn it at E rank, but if I went to revive an A rank, it would cost A rank energy. As for the contract one, it's only a marking. There is no skill in the list to mark a minion for summoning, meaning that's limited to only the RPC resurrection normally. And as with the revival technique, it costs the same as the monster's rank. You can dig through the list all you want, but none of these already exist, and they are most definitely not cheaper.

~

Username: Hinote Tosatsu

RPC name: Singultus

Is it a Free skill?: Mine

Type of skill: Necromancer
Skill name: Contract of Binding
Rank: E
Limits: Necromancer

Skill description: The necromancer is able to make a contract with a corpse. Or so it’s said, but the corpse truly has no choice in the matter. Finding a corpse, the necromancer spills his own blood on it, along with some of his energy. This does not revive the corpse, but rather binds it to his will, allowing it to be summoned by the Minion Summoning technique. Energy cost is equal to the rank of the corpse.

Sample: Singultus smiled, looking down at his recent find. A dead dragon, freshly killed if he guessed right. Unfortunately, he had no need of a dragon at the moment, and it would be rather cumbersome to have following him around. So, the man took his dagger, and cut a slit across his palm, laying the bleeding hand on the dragon's head as he began to mutter in an unholy tongue, a massive portion of his energy pouring through the blood and into the dragon, though no change seemed to occur. Suddenly, the man stopped, standing up once more and wrapping his would with some bandage he kept with him at all times. "I'll call you when I need you." He promised the dragon as he began to walk away.

Is it a Free skill?: No
Type of skill: Necromancer

Skill name: Corpse Burial
Rank: D
Limits: Necromancer
Skill description: Sometimes, simply placing a corpse in stasis is not enough, and it needs to be hidden away for later use. This technique sinks the corpse underground, inflicting a similar state to the Stasis skill, while also getting it hidden out of sight. While hidden by this skill, the body does not decay, nor give off any odor or other signs of it being there, making it impossible to locate and steal. To retrieve the body, the user must either return to the same location, and use the skill again to pull it out of the ground, or have it marked by the contract of binding, and use the minion summoning technique.

Sample: Singultus sighed, looking down at the body at his feet. "You're useless to me without your soul, and I'm not quite ready to get that." The man muttered, sighing once more. Holding his hands out over the corpse, he began to mutter a chant under his breath, his energy seeping out of his hands and into the corpse, wrapping around it as it began to sink into the earth. Several seconds later, when the corpse was completely out of sight, the man stopped, kneeling down and lying his hand on the ground where the body had just been. "I'll be back for you when I'm ready to bring you back." With that, he stood and walked away, muttering under his breath about finding a certain tome.

~

You never said whether the contract was approved with my explanation Ronnel. And burial is edited.

RPC name: For what I'm doing I don't think this matters.

Is it a Free skill?: Yes. I want it in the skill forum.

Type of skill: Curse Souls bloodline skill.

Skill name: Kuro Zantresma

Rank: A-rank

If it uses ammo how much: No ammo.

Limits: Must be Cursed soul bloodline. Must be swordmaster.

Skill description: The Kuro Kotogara, gathers onto the blade of the users sword. then the user makes a slashing motion releasing the stored energy in a slash of energy. The slash is able to cut through most metals and travels fairly fast. Though it is not impossible to dodge. The longer the skill is charged. The more powerful.
1-post
At the power of it being charged for one post it is able to cut through flesh and bone with ease
2post- At this point through stone
3post- This is when is it can cut through most metals. Though steel and titanium still hold up to it.
4post- Now it can cut through Titanium.
While the power of this is devastatingly powerful. It can easily be stopped from reaching this point. If the sword leaves the hand of the person using this then the attack will be canceled and will still cost them for using it. Also they can NOT attack with their sword while it is charging otherwise it would result in failure to complete the technique. Same with defending with the sword.
Sample:
Kyo knew he had to finish this fight quickly so he began charging his Kuro into his blade. The black fog like energy formed around the blade and kept charging. The lycan he was fighting lunged forward he side stepped narrowly avoiding the attack. But the lycan Turned quickly slashing out with its claws. Kyo slashed downwards with his blade releasing the Kuro Zantresma attack cutting the lycans forearm off. And the attack traveled on cutting through the lycans muzzle. -No need to continue.
(This is a rather poor sample. I apologize)

Is it a Free skill?:free to anyone with cursed soul bloodline

Type of skill: Cursed seal bloodline
Skill name: Cursed step.

Rank: B-rank

Limits: Must be adept or higher to learn

Skill description: The Kuro Kotugara forms below the users feet acting as a silencer for their steps. This means they can walk perfectly silent. Or even run silently. It also adds 1 to the users speed rank. It lasts for three posts before they have to either use the skill again, or pay C-ranked energy cost for each post using it.

Sample: Kyo moved his Kuro Kotugara to where it covered his feet. This added to his speed and made him silent as he moved. Also now the lycan he had narrowly escaped only a moment ago couldn't hear him running. He sprinted silently across the leaves of the forest and away from the Lycan who was no doubt still looking for him in the woods.

Is it a Free skill?: Free/bloodlineskill

Type of skill: Cursed souls

Skill name: Cursed movements

Rank: A Or S I'll let who ever approves this decide.

Limits: Cannot be used by any cursed souls with a speed of less than 7. Must be adept. And must have learned Cursed step.

Skill description: It is an advanced form of "cursed step" Which allowed the user to move 1 speed rank faster, and perfectly silently while it was in use. This form allows them to walk or run on walls, ceiling, etc or even walk on ice without worry of slipping, while doing so silently, it also adds 2 to their speed ranking. Can NOT, repeat, NOT walk on water or other liquids. It lasts three posts before it needs B-rank energy to supply it. Or if you simply supply it with C-rank energy at this point it reverts to Cursed step.

Sample: Kyo had no where else to go but up. The paladins had him cornered, so he used cursed movements which allowed him to run up the wall, he sprinted up the wall and over the other side running down it and then running on the ground. The paladins had to run around and to the gate. they had no chance of catching up with him.

Sweet God I just checked this thing a few hours ago and now look at it. *sigh* Alright here we go. >.>

shruikan:
Confusion Strike- Accepted
Delaying Sight- Does this skill only affect the opponent's vision, or all of their senses? I ask because you say senses, but the name of the skill is "sight", so I'm a little confused.

pad:
March of the Crusader- Accepted, though retreating and underhanded tactcs are subjective to the reader so it might cause some debate.
Aura of Hope- Accepted
Divine Pulse- I think you need to go through this again for spelling errors. lol Give this a 3 post cooldown and its Accepted
Blessing: Holy Water- Denied. Nothing is particularly wrong with it, I just think that this skill is more for Clerics than a paladin.
Hand of Blinding Light- Accepted

kato:
Kuro Zantresma- Accepted, but realize that it will still cost the user A-rank energy to use this technique, no matter how many posts they try to charge it.
Cursed step- Denied. This is stepping into ninja and assasin territory, and only they can silence their footsteps.
Cursed movements- Denied. Same thing, only this is stepping into trickster territory.

@hinote: Oxy tried saying that her Undead System would include bring back creatures, but most of the guild revoked the idea. Why? Because it isn't really fair when a guy starts hacking away infinite numbers of NPC dragons only to bring them back as his pets so he can have an army of A or S ranked monsters fighting by his side. Its not the rank of your technique thats the problem, its the concept.

Is it a Free skill?: Yes
Type of skill: Earth Element
Skill name: Dust Storm
Rank: B
Limits: Requires Dust Cloud
Skill description: A stronger and more effective version of Dust Cloud. The user sends powerful vibrations through the earth kicking up a large volumn of dust, creating a thick cloud in the area. The cloud is thick to where its difficult to see through it, as the air is making the cloud churn like a storm. Visibility is restrict to 10ft, and if the mouth and nose isn't covered, as well as your eyes dust will get in them and cause problems. (its not too hard to think what it does). The cloud remains airbourne for ten minutes (posts) before it settles back down. Only certain skills and material can render the dust storm harmless.

Is it a Free skill?: Yesh
Type of skill: Earth Elemental
Skill name: Dust Shield

To break free, the target must have a strength of 9 and above. That or a C rank water skill and/or a powerful explosive (use at your own caution). However, with an additional D rank energy the stone can imprison up to the legs of the target seriously restricting movement. Fenrir Graveheart

Your trust in your crew being able to RP NPCs is astounding.

However, it seems odd to say that bringing back a defeated NPC as your minion, but having to pay a rather large fee to do so is OP as compared to say, creating zombies out of thin air, as is currently the only way to get anything but RPC zombies.

If you wanted, in return for this set of techniques, I'd be fully willing to give up the various zombie creation techniques available in the list, and use only these, the RPC resurrection technique, and the various other techs made for necromancers not involving resurrection.

I can also fix up the technique to better limit it's usability, such as making it take the same number of posts to revive an NPC as it would normally take to learn a technique of the same rank.

Necromancers have no strength and less speed, and absolutely zero defensive capability, so limiting their "zombie powers" to only dead RPCs is basically saying screw you to what is honestly one of the weakest classes already.

Oh, and I don't see how being able to revive the monsters you kill in battle is unfair as compared to a giant metal man who can fire a laser from his mouth, or a lycan who is seemingly a god so long as there is metal, or really anything weak to electricity, around, or even someone having the ability to, you know, turn an SSS rank monster into a blubbering pile of flesh with a single move, despite being a trainee.

~

Also, slightly related but not quite. I find it rather offensive that you would imply that I am trying to cheat by making these techniques. I'm greedy with my special techniques, yes, that's why they are personal. I like to twist my character's abilities around to make them OP yet still within the limits of the rules, yes. But I do not cheat. And the insinuation that I would is an offense to the pride I hold in my skill as a roleplayer.

I said the guild revoked the idea, not me. Don't get the two mixed up.

Now I'm sorry but its not an option. Necromancers have their strengths just like any other class out there.

Lastly, I'm not implying you're intentionally trying to cheat, nor do I think you're trying to do so. I just like to list my reasons for denying something so its clear that I didn't deny your request, or waste the time you spent making it, over nothing. I'm sorry you feel like I'm trying to offend, I assure you I'm really not. I'm just doing my job, which includes denying possibly OP skill requests.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 26, 2011 3:34 pm

Well, I truly hate to say this, but you just murdered my RPC. Those skills were literally the ONLY thing that was going to make RPing a necromancer in this guild worthwhile, as, I shall be honest, the existing skills are utter crap. If I was to use the ones that are there, Until A rank, I'd be able to, let's see... I could make a wimpy zombie crawl out of the ground, ok. Or I could throw green balls at people, that don't really do anything. Then there's the soul reap, which, oh wait, that's so horribly written I can't even begin to comprehend what it actually does. Then I guess I could make a custom undead... Wait, that requires applications, and going around killing the monsters to get parts for them, but I can't kill anything, because all of my skills are crap. Not to mention if I actually managed to gather the parts, the custom zombie would probably be denied for being OP.

There is absolutely nothing in the necromancer skills that isn't utter crap. The only things there that could even possibly be mistaken for useful are the minion summon, the RPC resurrection, and "Undead Hero". Except, minion summon is useless until you hit A rank, and you'd have to kill an RPC to get it anyways. Undead hero could be pretty useful, but it's also of a rank too high to be practical for anyone starting out a necro.

~

Now, the skills I submitted, would make a necromancer something worth RPing for me. Yet somehow they are OP. I honestly don't see how that is. Reviving all the monsters you kill, yeah, that could be pretty bad. Assuming of course you could kill the monsters in the first place. And beyond that, if someone actually used it and managed to be dragging ten dragons around with them, it's not the RPer nor the skill that should be in question. It's whoever RP'd those dragons.

The only possible way those skills could be over powered, is if you allowed a shitty RPer to run high ranking NPCs. And even then it's really not, because I'd still have to dish out the cost of reviving them anyways.

If what you're worried about is that the revival might just be a one time cost, it's pretty easy to make a limitation as to how many zombies the necromancer can have following him around outside of battle, or even in battle if that's your worry. I can even make a new minion summoning technique to go along with the skills, making it so it would cost the full rank of the monster in energy every last time I wanted to bring them into battle. I had actually intended to do that before I noticed the existing skill.

I'll tell you what hinote, since both you and oxy have been trying to make a system where you can have undead NPCs and monsters fight for them, you can talk with her on how you two can make it work.

Personally, I might suggest taking the rank of whatever monster you enslave, and make that a permanent deduction on your energy scale. Necromancers have more energy than normal players anyways, so that would make it pretty fair.

Either way, just take it to pm for me hinote. I don't want our discussion spamming up customs.
