Lisa laughed. "You're so silly Dan! The little geishas are little girls, elementary school children who dance before a great bunch of people! Oh Dan, they're so cute. It is totally adorable!" She said and squealed excitedly. Her voice soon faded away as she looked out at all of the people joining them as they got closer to the convention center. There were so many amazing and beautiful costumes. She wanted permission to take pictures of them all!

"That does sound cute. I can imagine they might do something different this year but then again sometimes if something works well why not go with a good thing." Dan said with a nod as Lisa and he had almost made it back to the place that the convention was to held in. Dan stayed close to Lisa as more people tried to get a good spot. His body was being pressed into Lisa's by the con goers offering some excitement as Dan found himself embracing Lisa once more. Partially to make sure they were not pulled apart and because space was limited as it was. It was understandable everyone was excited but Dan was intent on protecting his angel as best he could.

"Yes, they always do have something new, just every year that I have come they have danced." Lisa said warmly. "After all this is a reflection on Japanese culture, so why would they not have a geisha dance?"
Lisa looked up at Dan over her shoulder as the hoard of people pushed them on up the levels of escalators. This was about the time where she found his arms wrapped, almost protectively, around her. She smiled, as as they made their way slowly up the crowded escalators she leaned back against him slightly. The feeling of attending a convention with a friend or family member was great, the feeling of attending a convention with a boyfriend was indescribable. Lisa wanted to share everything with Dan too. Most excitedly she began to vaguely point out the different costumes she saw to Dan. "Isn't this fun?" She asked, snuggling a little closer to him.

(finally gettin this up and posted... sorry if its a bit long but i did edit it down some to shorten if from its longer verson on word...lol...)
Jay finally stopped and took a break to go change into the costume. Not truly feeling like changing she knew the committee for the convention preferred vendors to dress up when they could, not only that but it would attract attention to the tables her and Mindy had gotten up at 3 in the morning to set up. Having quietly drug the rest of the boxes out of the hotel room while Lisa slept the two of them drove the van to the center and met up with the rest of the staff who was attending to set up. A process that took just about three hours to set the tables up and another couple hours to get the rest of the decorations in place that the staff had to wait for her to bring the last of the blades in order to finish.
The set up included five tables, three which held more of the replica and cosplay weapons while the other two held those that were under lock and key. Even the wood backdrop behind where the staff could have a few chairs to relax when the day slowed down was set up to hold long blades and various staffs and naginatas. The tables were decorated with lissome green vines that had artificial cherry blossoms and different shades of green leaves. Dark pink Camilla blossom petals were scattered amongst the tables to add additional ambiance of the feudal/medieval feel to the tables. Even the wooden wall carried the vines that seemed to cause the weapons to stand out even more against the greens of the vines. The extra step into that ambience of the past was a carefully constructed arbor style entrance and support roof which was entwined with the same vines and had artificial willow branches attached given the display a natural welcoming feel to all who passed.
Jay yawned and finished changing into day ones costume, glad that it was a simple one verses the one for day two which would take a couple hours to get into. This one only was a change of clothes and simple hair style. Looking into the mirror she laughed, “Contacts, I forgot to put the contacts in.” She put the contact lenses in and then grabbed the rest of her stuff and folded it into her back pack and once again looked into the mirror. “much better” she said and laughed again. “now to get back there and get this show going.” After saying that she headed back to the booth and check in on what was going on with Mindy and the others and make sure everything was still going as it was needed to this early.

The morning had been anything but calm and peaceful. Mindy hated being in a rush. They were not the only people setting up however. There were many other vendors setting their things up in different stalls around the room. She kept stopping to watch them as they hung shirts, bags, hats, as they set up piles of manga, anime, and figures. Jay kept snapping at her, and telling her to get back to work. Each time she would jump, sending goosebumps up all over her body, and then she would start to squeal and whine and beg for forgiveness before she began to work on another job.
Mindy enjoyed working here. It let her see lots of people who were into lots of different things. She also got the pride of helping her best friend sell her swords and other various merchandise. Once Jay left to change into her costume Mindy finally stepped back to look at their stand. It had an elegant, wooded look to it, which went good with their theme. She liked how the vines played around the shiny blade of the swords. She admired their work, thankful that it was all done. She clocked her watch, it was nearly ten.
When Jay returned she glanced over at her friend. "Hey, you look good." She said looking her up and down. "Do you like the costume?" She asked with a smile. She was already wearing her costume. All she had needed was the clothes, which she had dressed in that morning. She already looked the part. "Hey, Jay, are we going to the opening Ceremonies?" She asked in a tone of interest. They were something that she always loved to see.

Jay grinned and laughed at her best friend, “Thanks, I feel a little different too, it’s the contacts, I haven’t worn any in a couple years. And you don’t look half bad yourself, you really did a great job too.” She made smoothing motions over her sides and answered her friend, “Yea I like this one, simple and quick but fun, perfect for a costume and for set up day.”
She took a few minutes to look back over the displays and those nearby and couldn’t help but grin, this was work but work she enjoyed. The interaction with the people and talking about the different histories of the blade she sold, the different anime and manga her replicas were made from and even the history of the areas where the weapons originated, was something she that fueled her during the events. While with Mindy she thought it was everything about the events and the new things to see and people to meet, they both had turned it into a successful business they both enjoyed and loved.
She looked back over at Mindy and grinned, “You still here???” she asked and laughed, “I thought you were gonna be at the opening???” She knew her friend would be upset if she missed it since it was something she enjoyed. “you go and have fun since things won’t pick up till afterwards. I’m going to hang out towards the back and get a feel for the customers we’ve got this year and keep my ears open to what the big chatter is about too.” Still grinning hse added, “Keep your ears opend too for anything that we might want to get in our future supply.”

Dan gently squeezed Lisa as she snuggled closer to him. He kissed the top of her head and nodded. "The excitement is a little overwhelming but it is understandable being the opening ceremony and all that. Can you see what is going on yet? I am not exactly sure what to look for at this point." Dan said as he looked about for signs of the ceremony so the both of them could see it.

"Oh Jay!" Mindy squealed as she jumped forward and wrapped her friend in a tight, rib breaking hug. She gripped Jay's wrist in an equally tight grasp and tugged Jaylinne energetically along after her. "We can't be late!" She exclaimed, and with this grip of steel she dragged Jay through the crowds of con goers. Something told her she wanted to be one of the first ones Dan and Lisa. Her voice carried over the rest of the chatter around them as she called back to Jay, "So what do you think your sister and her lover are up to?" She asked with a joking sneer in her lip.
"We have to go in that room first." Lisa said, nodding towards a pair of great doors open wide and letting people through. "Once everyone is inside and seated then the opening ceremonies will commence." She said. Her head was tilted to the side slightly, resting between his shoulder and his ear so that when she spoke he could hear what she said. "We're not really looking for anything just yet. You'll know when it's going to start, believe me, you'll know." She assured him. She laughed softly and stood a little taller so she could seal her words with a soft peck to his jaw.

Dan's face brightened as Lisa's lips touched his jaw ever so affectionately. "Well then by all means let us get a seat then. If we can't find two near each other you can sit in my lap even." Dan said bending down and kissing Lisa mere centimeters from the right side of her lips. "I don't even mind if you make my legs fall asleep."
Dan chuckled quietly as they got closer to their destination.

Lisa shivered. "But then that would not be fair to the people sitting behind us, or to you Dan. With me on your lap you probably couldn't see. There will be plenty of seats, so don't you worry." She said and laughed. Her hand slid to his thigh, just above the knee where he had offered up a seat. "It is a tempting thought, but no one likes it when they lose circulation to their legs. Besides, you may never know who is watching." Lisa whispered in his ear, not that she needed to whisper, there were so many chattering people around. She thought for a second she spotted Mindy pulling Jay through the crowd, but she shook the thought away. No, that couldn't be them, could it?
The excitement mounted as they came closer to the great doors, revealing nothing but darkness on the other side. But as they entered the whole world around them changed. Music played loud enough to make your insides rumble. From the stage lights seemed to explode in various locations and colors. "See, isn't this cool?" She asked Dan, hoping he was starting to catch onto the excitement.

"Yep it sure is. Between the energy around us and the unexpected surprise that awaits us how can anyone not get caught up in it all." Dan said gently squeezing Lisa's hand in his. More then anythin the large crowd might have been overpowering without Lisa being here to share this moment with. He looked down into her eyes and smiled lovingly as the heard of fans entered the entrance.
