Lin followed, that had been a most interesting meeting. Even though she hadn't done anything except debate, observated and commented she felt dusty, but she figured she probably didn't feel as dusty or sticky as Amora was probably feeling.

"Alright."

It was almost an hour before the girls were ready to leave again, and once more it was Sir Gilead who went with them. Amora's hand had been rebandaged and felt much better.

"So where did you want to visit first?" Amora asked Lin warmly as they walked back towards the city. "Since we did only get to see a few places yesterday."

Lin looked up as she tried to recall what was her list from yesterday. There was just so much to see...

"Smith...." which one though?

She knew there were several types, since some preferred one type of metal or type of objec to make over the other.

"I have no clue which one though."

Amora laughed. "Well we've already been to the glass smith and the woodsmith," she giggled, "so choose something else you'd like to see. There are several others ... blacksmith, goldsmith, silversmith, all different metalsmiths ..."

And that was just the smiths. There was also the jeweler, the bakery, butchery, tannery, tailor ... so many choices.

Lin had to think about that, there were just so many places... however it was better than those malls.

"Blacksmith," she finally replied after quite a bit of mulling.

Amora smiled. "As you wish," she said warmly. "We will only be able to see his shop, and likely not him ... unless he is resting today because of the heat."

Indeed, the heat was far more intense than it had been the day before, and heatwaves shimmered before their eyes, making the world seem as though it were appearing through a watery glass.

It was like breathing in thick something, not painful, but it didn't exactly make it easy to take a deep breath Lin noted. At least it wasn't painful like the way breathing in really cold air would be.

Though Lin was also distracted by the way the air looked from the heat waves, she had seen it on roads back home but those roads were black, it was rare to have it like this wherever you went outside.

"I didn't think it was possible for it be this hot naturally until now..."

"Just be glad we're not actually out in the desert," Amora told Lin quietly. "The stones that the city is made from are light, so they reflect a lot of the heat back into the air ... but out in the desert, the sand absorbs and re-releases it, so it's a lot hotter out there."

Sand, as she had said before, was one of her favourite studies, and it was clear that she knew quite a bit about it.

It made Lin thoughtful, that would be very hot. Desert traveling wouldn't be any fun at all, it must be hard for those who do. Lin wondered if dark stone was left out in here if it could cook something.

Like eggs.

"Far too hot," Lin murmured, "Part of your sand studies?"

Amora smiled. "The beginning of it," she corrected. "It was the beginning of all of my studies, actually ... sand was the first study I ever conducted on my own. I was always curious, but ...something about the sand just wouldn't let me go."

She looked thoughtful as they approached the city.

Well Lin had to admit, they were surrounded by it, and it pretty much descrbed the enivorment. She could kind of see why sand would hold such an interest, they were small things but they could make glass and in a wind storm kill people.

"What else do you study?"

Amora's eyes lit up at the topic. "Water, when I can," she said happily. "It's a bit difficult, but it's very interesting. Air. The weather. Different plants, flowers ... fire. Magic. Anything I can think of, really."

She didn't bother to try hiding her enthusiasm. Knowledge to her was riches, more than anything else in the world.

Definely need her to meet Shiro, heck Lin was pretty sure that if Amora met any of her other family members she would interested. Especially seeing as they weren't human (there weren't really many humans in the family).

"Do you plan to travel one day?" Lin couldn't help but ask.

Since then Amora could study and learn all sorts of things to her heart's content.

"I hope to," Amora smiled softly as they entered the city. "Mother and Father both think that it would be a good idea, though I would first have to find a traveling companion. I do not believe that I shall leave the Four Lands, however. I do not want to be too far from my parents, and I am after all first in line for the throne if something happens to them. I dearly hope that nothing ever does."

She had no desire to be a ruler, she simply wanted to live her life. She liked duties and responsibilities, but she saw how her parents were not permitted to spend as much time with their children as she knew they would like. She did not want that for her own future family.

Lin looked thoughtful, she hadn't expected Amora to be first in line, when she had heard Pen was now King, she had assumed that it would be through the male line like the Westland, from the sounds of it, it just depended who was born first.

"A good traveling companion," Lin murmured.

Good luck with that, she heard enough horror stories from Daeron. Lin blinked, where was Daeron at the moment anyhow?

"If someone could track down Daeron one could ask him, he mainly travels alone, but admits it is lonely. All he asks is his companion be capable, and be there because they want to travel. He's your mother's cousin by the way. Except I have no idea where he could be... Daeron out of all your family is the hardest to track down. He stayed in Haven for a while, but I guess his wandering feet got the better of him."
