Hmm.. yeah I have no answer for that... I can only assume that Taijutsu is made of a set number, like gouken increases taijutsu damage to x-y damage, right? There are techniques that "double and triple" taijutsu damage.
while ninjutsu only has like, 10-20 damage, say, built into the skill, and that's the limit. The multiplier on taijutsu will therefore reach a higher number than a ninjutsu on certain techniques, and for that reason ninjutsu and genjutsu must be increased to balance it out.
...that's the only explanation I can think of lol.

I want Nintaijutsu.
But then again, there is yet any techniques to do with it.
I could just make it so the damage is 1-6 per skill point in [ninjutsu + taijutsu] / 2.
Also, for those who read the manga, you would see that the eight gates pwn all ninjutsu.

I don't think you have any characters ready to use nintaijutsu :< I say if we implement it at all, make it an A or S-class fighting style that is unique to each person, like each person incorporates their own style/element into it. that and I don't think your post was relevant to cheerios o_o

Cheer is complaining about Taijutsu not having enough power, right? You already pointed out that a lot of taijutsu would have greater power and I pointed out that techniques such as eight gates, can pwn any ninjutsu.

I suggest a modification to the Hit Points section, with regards to how people play and, encourage characters to act more realistically.
Hit Points, are a simple way of determining a character's health, derived from early war games, where 'Hit Points' were literally how many 'hits' a battalion could take before all of its men were exterminated. These early war games based their damage on Hit Points so this worked out quite well. Later RPG's however didn't take this along for the ride and I don't think we should take it here.
Players see Hit Points and see they see Risks involved. For instance say that they wanted to reach a scroll at the end of a tunnel and say that they had six hundred Hit Points. In between them and the scroll was a wall of fire that did say...1d100 points of damage for every second they were in there. Except there was a switch at the other side of the tunnel which would turn the flames off. They only therefore have to spend 5 seconds in the fire.
You as a human being would not just walk through this flaming wall of fire, simply because your body could withstand the damage. At least...unless to have something that prevents you from feeling any kind of pain for a very long time. Nor would a character do this. There are other risks associated with walking through a tunnel of fire and thereby having a reduction of abilities.
In a few games I have played, the rules are made so that hit points do not exist and your character simply takes penalties in their abilities until such time they are restored. I recommend something similar here, but on a lesser scale.
I propose we implement a grade system, which is quite common in RPG's on the scale of health. We should have green health: 75% to 100% of health resulting in no penalties. Orange health: 25% to 75% resulting in a reduction of say: -20% to the nearest whole number, penalty to the abilities. Red health: -10hp to 25% results in a 50% reduction to abilities to the nearest whole number.
I'd also recommend something similar for Chakra. It is commonly known in Naruto that if you run out of Chakra, you are hereby decreed. Dead. And it is not uncommon to be extremely weakened across the spectrum by a loss of Chakra. Attacks are no longer as powerful, the speed of the character is no longer so great as when they first started.
I admit my numbers could do with some tweaking and I'm sure it'd only take a minimum amount to implement. A sort of compromise between the simple effectiveness of Hit Points and the general health of a player.

3nodding I'm liking the rudimentary idea of it, but I'm too tired to think about it in depth. * will partake in the ensuing debate later*

Complicated.
Simply, 50% health = /0.25 penalty on all rolls. 10% health = /0.5 penalty on all rolls. That works either for Health or Chakra and gives the player and game master less to think about.

Hey I just thought of something. If we are giving bonuses for literate post, why don't we give negative bonuses for illiterate post.
What I mean is this.
1 line or less = 0 exp 1 1/2 - 2 lines = 50% 2 1/2 - 4 lines = Normal 4 1/2 - 6 lines = +25% exp 6 1/2 - 8 lines = +50% exp 8 1/2 - 10 lines = +75% exp 10 1/2 - 12 lines = +100% exp
We are talking per post though. The average here seems to be 1/2 - 2 lines per post, and if we are having people pass a literacy test in order to join we should at least have a standard.

Mastur Sage ... 8 1/2 - 10 lines = +75% exp 10 1/2 - 12 lines = +100% exp .... I most definitely second this! Although I'd still like to be able to opt out... T.T

Yamanoue_Utemaro I most definitely second this! Although I'd still like to be able to opt out... T.T Freak. Personally I disagree with the term: Lines. My monitor has a high resolution compared to most others therefore most people who write a lot to their story have only two lines per paragraph. While on my ancient laptop, that number is increased to five. (It has a particularly low resolution). I prefer the term 'Sentences'. Also: Thirded.

Well lets gauge it like this, a five line post, with no enters or formatting is = to one box of typing in the actual reply box. I shall demonstrate. Quote: kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkk*Red K's do not exist in the next post, it is to denote that it is just short of 1 box With Spaces kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk Because if we do sentences it will backfire. Jack runs fast. Jack runs downhill. Go Jack go. Jack won the race. Thats four sentences, and I would MAYBE give that +1 exp .... doubtful though.

I think I'm misunderstanding but...whom is going to take every post and remove every extra space, every indentation, every paragraph in order to measure by a specific column? (That's what will have to be done, otherwise it won't be fair).
I'm going to take the third option and say 'paragraphs'. It's exceptionally easy for a moderator to see what a paragraph is, how many sentences they have and whether they are valid to get experience.
Then it's just a simple case of quickly skim reading, taking note of the number of paragraphs and awarding experience based on that.

Normally its the same person grading these in every village, so they can count w/o editing.
