Emma had only nodded to Mathias' response. She was ready to go.

For a good week, Emma and the gang had been traveling. It was actually pretty good time to the village, considering that serpentine fiends were usually more aggressive. It had been pretty decent weather for the most part, just a light shower earlier on. They were getting close, Emma was sure.

"Gene, how ya' feelin'?" Emma asked, wondering if he was ready. For the most part, he was the only other who truly mattered. Though, depending on the looks of the fiend, Emma wanted to let the other two go at it for a while.

Train sighed again. "Makes it pretty damn hard to kill something if we don't know about it." Train mentioned to the village people. Glaring only for a moment more, one of the people finally spoke up.

"We're sorry, it's just that it is very difficult for us," said a woman from one of the huts. She had been waiting, and Train had been observing her aura moments before. He had known she would come forth eventually. "We don't have an actually leader, we're obviously a really small community. We enforce ourselves, make our own rules, live as a giant family. Anyway, the fiend lives in a cave nearby. Due south, we've lost several men trying to verify it's location. It's a humanoid type, very large, very hairy. You'll know it when you see it."

Train raised a brow. "Was that so hard?" This woman was actually quite knowledgeable, but she was well out of her fighting days, and no one else in the village seemed like a capable fighter. Train turned to Tyrone and Enyo, "Wait a day, or get started now?" Train would have preferred to get it done now.

Isaac glared at Kiro, "Sounds do-able? I have a tough time cutting through steel, I don't know how you manage it, but I take a little while as far as that goes. Gotta spiky thing, but that'll only go so far." Isaac commented, though it probably wasn't good that their 'employer' was right there.

"Oh, I have a question too. Is it alone? Just one of these damn things, right?" Isaac was leaning on his halberd, losing a little color in his face.

"At the moment, the fiend is unaware of our existence. Attacking now would give us a huge surprise advantage." Enyo stated, though probably obvious. Enyo stopped and thought for a moment while waiting for a reply of what Train and Tyrone thought of this. It's located in a cave? This gives us the advantage of cornering it with three people. Another likely possibility: the cave is a trap and can be used against us.

"You're right, cutting through steel easily isn't something a human can do unless they've been through serious swordsmanship training and have a powerful wrist and forearm." Kiro admitted to Issac.

Though I've been doing that since I was eight. I guess I can thank Axis for that much. Kiro reminisced to himself.

((Sorry it's taken me so long to get around to this guys. I winged it with Team 4, but I actually had to think when it came to Teams 1 and 3.))

"Impatient. We should be well on our way by now." Gene said monotonously and kicked his horse into a slightly quicker pace, with every intention of going on ahead by himself, unless his team caught up to him.

((Alright, members of Team 1, sorry if I interrupt anything but this is long overdue. Team 1 is timeskipped.))

Team 1 came into sight of the small town in the late morning, just before noon. It was a double row of wood and brick buildings built side to side, with only narrow alleys in between, if any at all. There was a single wide dirt road running through the center of the town. Outside of the town, on all sides, including where they had passed through to arrive there, was all grassland, sections of it fenced off and containing herd animals. There were sparse copses of trees spread around the area.
Gene was unimpressed and unsurprised. He had seen the like before, having traveled into these sorts of environs on various missions in the past. He simply rode in silence, heading for the main street that ran through the town.

"Yes, I agree. We should put an end to this fiend as soon as we possibly can. I say we find it, kill it, seal it, and go home." Tyrone said. He was actually looking forward to fighting the fiend at this point. It had been a good long while since he'd had a serious fight. He wouldn't let that get in the way of doing what was right, though. He knew that he had to destroy the fiend as soon as he could, for the sake of the people who lived in the area. "Train, you're doing a decent job so far, lead on."

"Well, then I suppose we'll just have to continue looking until we find it. Or until we find someone that knows more." Matt said.
No sooner had the words left his mouth than two figures stepped out from behind some brush near the treeline. Matt had just enough time to realize that it was an elderly man and a younger woman before the girl ran up to him and threw her arms about him.
"Woah, hey! I know I'm pretty but I usually like to get to know a girl-" He started saying before he could understand what she was saying.
"Thank you, oh gods! Thank you, you've made it!" She sobbed into his armored chest.
Matt took her by the shoulders and held her out at arms length. "What's going on here?"
"They're all dead! It killed them all!" She continued to sob hysterically.
At that time the older man had walked up to her and took her into his arms, where she turned and continued crying.
"The fiend. It has killed everyone else. We survived by running and hiding." The older man said. He too had tears in his eyes. "You must avenge them all, and destroy this monster!"

"Yes," Giraldi said. "There is only the one. So far as we know anyways. We've never seen more than one. Now, we've been tormented by this fiend long enough. We would appreciate it if you would do your job immediately, and kill it."
"Not a problem." William said. "I take it that it is somewhere in the vicinity of that swath that was cut through the trees?"
"That's where it always comes from." Vargas said.
"Alright, Kiro, Isaac, Aretha, let's go." William said. With that he turned and walked out of the room, intent on finding his way back out and seeking the fiend.

"Right." Kiro replied to William, following him out. It had been awhile since Kiro used his abilities, he was looking forward to the battle to come.

Fayn sighed lightly as she stood in the sunshine. She was a graduate.Shouldn't she be assigned to a team or a Hunter,at least?
"There's nothing much to do here..except train my seal creation rate and battle techniques....boring.."
The girl grumbled, shaking her head as she stepped back into the room to grab her sword. She strapped the blade onto her belt and walked out of the room, heading towards the cafeteria for some breakfast.

((Btw,how are seals made?))

Malkin finally found the damn barracks. Opening the door, he took a step out and threw up. Inside, torn bodies and blood was everywhere. Stumbling back, he hurried to the others.
"s**t. Don't bother looking for people. Found them garroted in the barracks. And the weapons are all shat-oh. People. Guess you guys know." Malkin said, scratching his head through the hood. Looking at the two people, he sighed. Reaching in his satchel, he tugged out a bottle. Handing it over to the girl, he stood in the shadows of the other two quietly.
"That'll help you two get to sleep. Also help the nightmares. Has a nice strawberry taste. Only thing I can do for now." he said sheepishly.

((Seals are ancient runes. The seal is created by drawing, or making in some way, the correct runes and then placing them in contact with the fiend spirit in order to draw it into the seal and entrap it inside.))

Mathias rode along slightly behind Gene, and looked this way and that," I hope the fiend hasn't wreaked too much havoc before we got here..." he said mostly to himself, as he loosened his sword in it's scabbard unconciously.

Sven had walked up closer when the two survivors emerged from the tree, and as Malkin's bottle traded hands he said what needed to be said for thier mission;
"Before you use any of it though, I request that you tell us exactly what happened here. Any information you can give us on the fiend can prove useful, but most important is what it looks like and what way it went." It might prove to be hard to pursuade any information from them judging from how traumatized they seemed, but he would press from them what he could. He trusted Matt would play the role of comforter, he seemed like that sort of person to Sven. He hoped he was right, some encouraging words always made it much easier to get what was needed, and Sven wasn't the best at giving them.

((I'm back! After the play, I came down with something. 102.9 fever, chills, protuding lymph note, coughing, dizzy, tired and a headache. They put me on anti-boctics for a 'unknown infection'. I basically sleep for a week. I'm feeling better though. And ready to torture Aretha more. Not giving any hints about what I'm planning, but just remember...she's a rookie. xd ))

Aretha walked into the building. She leaned against the wall. Her body just felt so heavy. It was all she could do just to stand.

And then she caught the description of the fiend. "A gaint bug? They have giant bug fiends?" An involuntary disgusted shudder ran down her spine, having nothing to do with her fever and chills.

The meeting was very brief. Aretha was grateful to get moving, because it was so much hard to simply stand there than to walk, but she was nervous too. This would be her first real fight with a fiend. Technically, she had already defeated one by herself, but she didn't know how she did it, what the effects would be on herself or even if it was a permant solution.

Aretha did follow orders though, and walked out of the warm building. She walked back over to her horse, the one she was calling in her head Chestnut, and opened the saddlebag. She withdrew a large pouch of treated, waterproof leather. She then took out an inkwell and a brush. The Calivert Group had taught her the most simple runes, and given her a basic rune making kit. They said that over time, she will learn other runes, and how to create her own ink mixture that works for her best. Ultimately though, they want her to be able to harness the power she has already shown.

Aretha gripped her items close to her body, holding on to them for dear life. She walked back over to the others. "So, what exactly is the p-p-plan again?"

"It looked like a big turtle." The woman sobbed.
"Can you tell us anything more specific about it?" Matt asked, trying not to blurt out that they already knew that.
"It was two men tall and had sharp claws and a beak, like a birds, almost. It spat water at us, too." The man said and gestured to one building which was little more than scattered boards in broken pieces. "It went west, towards the river."
"Thank you," Matt said and placed his hand on the mans shoulder for a moment. "You two should go back to your hiding place. Wait for us. Don't come back out until we come back or until a full day's gone by. If a day goes by and we still haven't come back, then run to the Corps. They'll take care of you. Otherwise you'll go back there with us. Now, go, hide, and wait. We'll be back."
The two homeless villagers fled back the direction they had come and soon disappeared from sight. They made a good job of it too. Matt, who had been watching them the whole time, suddenly lost sight of them, as though they weren't there at all.
"Well, guys, what do ya think?" Matt asked.

"The plan is, Kiro and I will flank the thing and harass it from both sides. Isaac, your job is to protect Aretha, if you think you can jump in without leaving in harms way then join us. Aretha, all you have to worry about is having that seal ready when we kill it. And we will kill it. This is what we do. We're Hunter Guardians, we slay and seal fiends. And we're good at it." William said as he led the way down one street directly towards the swath that had been cut into the forest.

Malkin thought a bit about what they knew.
"Turtles are known for insanely tough shells. Add spitting water to them and we have a pretty good fiend. I have a nagging suspicion we could be in trouble if we corner it or fight in in a river." Malkin could only see a turtle in a cave shooting blasts of death at them.
"My opinion, we should have someone distract it that can do something about the blasts of water while the rest of us get close and attempt to flip it."

((Crappy plan, but hey, Malkin is used to being on his own, lol.))
