About: A bowl that Yoake and Ranger found around the shop and adopted. Nothing is known about her; Ranger suggested they just let her emerge on her own.
Cardi loves bugs of all types, insects, chilopods, arachnids, you name it! She enjoys creeping through the grass and finding them. As a kit she was rather hyper and enjoyed running around when she wasn't looking for bugs; then she was all business and patience.
As she got older, she became more and more of a recluse. She enjoyed hanging out with those of her housemates whom she was friends with, but with such a large community in the House, she preferred not to socialize with anyone else, despite Yoake's best efforts. She's grown up socially awkward, in that very special "What the heck are you doing, and why are you staring at me? Buzz off, I'm not the one being illogical!" way. She understands basic concepts--no one lives in a house with Spartans and their AI for long without understanding love and lust, but she understands such things in an abstract way. She has difficulty understanding her own emotions out of a [rather unscientific] desire to make assumptions as to what she should be feeling at a given time. The result is someone who is brisk with other people without being intentionally unkind and is easily confused by other people's actions.
She has a very large pet giant centipede named Benny.

Relations
Yoake--my adopted father. He tried to socialize me when he raised me, and I know he still loves me very much. He can be fun to hang out with. He taught me how to swim!
Ranger--my other adopted father. He taught me my appreciation for the wilderness and everything wild. He taught me as much of arthropods as he could teach me. Again, I love him very much.
Nanami--my adopted sister. She's Yoake's daughter. We like to play pranks on each other sometimes, and I know she'll always find the best bugs to put in my bed. One time she got me a mated pair of scorpions and put them in my pillow! I had to scold her for that, of course, what if I'd squished them?
Sproutling--Ranger's nephew; I guess that kinda makes him my adopted cousin? He has a garden in the backyard, and it attracts the best in garden "pests." He pays me to remove them. Pays me. He's just that awesome.
Friends
Citrine--she's my age or so and she loves to cook. She's taught me a little bit about cooking, enough to survive on a backpacking trip easily. We still like hanging out, especially when we're barbecuing.
Clio--also my age, she's athletic and likes getting out and being active. I like activity! She taught me how to climb trees.
Katsuo--this funny guy I met one day while tracking Benny after he escaped. He's very nice, but he acts a little weird. He has a tendency to be very polite to me--flowery, even--and hold my paws, or act like he's committed a major faux pau when he hasn't...he's a mystery, but he's very nice. He's younger than me and he's already got three kids. Isn't that weird?
Pan--another of my housemates. Let's see, she's also active, loves to get outside and get dirty, and she doesn't care one bit about her appearance! She's harder to hang out with, though, what with her being either at nursing school, studying, or at work. She asks me to babysit her familiar Scorpio sometimes, though, so that's cool.
Enemies
Not that I really have any enemies. These are just people I prefer to avoid.
Lamia--normally there isn't anything wrong with her. That is, normally there wasn't anything wrong with her. But after Lamia started to experiment on my pets without my permission, I started to drift apart from her, which is sad because she also loves animals, and it's nice to talk with someone about that, even if she is interested in magic instead of science.
Beatrice--she likes to make everyone look pretty and nice. Doesn't like to get dirty, and because she's a vampire, she gets really bad sunburns if she spends much more than half an hour in the sunlight. So generally speaking we don't have much to talk about (again, a pity, since she and Lamia are very good friends with Clio and Citrine).
Epic--Beatrice's dad. He's like Beatrice, but, y'know...male. He's more willing to get dirty, but he still prefers things to be neat and tidy. Did offer to give me an ear piercing once, but I thought better of it.

Well, okay, if you insist...I mean, if you do want assurance that some people lead normal, ordinary lives, than I can give that to you. Let me see, where do I begin...?
Well, at the beginning, of course! I was found at the shop by Yoake. Not everyone's got parents, of course, and the shop is one of the few places in the universe where noodles with no parents show up. It's either an adoption agency or a place where noodles spontaneously occur--which is only ridiculous before you take into account that noodles are one of the few species that reproduce asexually. Anyway, though, I showed up there, either with no parents or no parents that cared enough about me to keep me. Either way makes no difference to me--I don't know about them, and I've already got people to love and care about me. Yoake for one. He found me and took me home, and he asked Ranger to help care for me. Between the two of them, I was given a normal upbringing, so far as I can tell. They both loved me very much, and they both took care of me.
Of course I had friends. Clio and Citrine were my age--we'd all shown up at around the same time, though both of them had parents. Clio lived with Pi and her adopted father Epsilon here at the House and Citrine moved in after she'd all grown up. This place was still full of drama--that only started to slow down in the past, oh, I don't know, year or so. Things were a lot more exciting before you showed up. Let me see, Sher showed up a few months before I did, there was lots of drama in his family. He moved in here just before he grew up, met a girl, slept with her, had Pan and her sister Romlee, and Pan stirred up some drama, all right! Clio had some of her own when she found out that Epsilon wasn't her real father. She and I went on a two-week backpacking trip after that until she'd calmed down. That was the longest either of us had been away from home, but it was fun, and by the time she was back, she'd calmed down a lot.
People say I'm cold or clueless or maybe a little bit of both, but I prefer to think that I'm calm. I learned to avoid all of the shouting and the arm-waving when it occurred and just stay out of the way. I understand some things, but...other things are hard. I'm pretty sure I'm not autistic, I just have trouble identifying why people do things. I'm pretty good at understanding when someone's feeling sullen or abandoned or unloved, because I spent two weeks with Clio, and that was certainly an education. Some things I don't understand entirely. Like I don't understand why Monty rejoined the army when she said it was all pointless and everyone was an idiot. So far as I can tell, though, the answer to your unspoken question is no: it isn't your fault she moved out. You can stop feeling offended now--you are feeling offended, right?
