Alice stoped, She could feel something... it felt like a powerful vampire. She smiled and walking up to a mansion looked in a window to see Douglas. She walked up to the door and knocked. A moment later the red fadded from her eyes and she stood there looking very helpless. He cruel smile had fadded into a weak smiled that looked like it was forced. She mocked a fein pretending to be the damsal in destress.

Edward smiled down at Demetria when she leaned into him, she hadn't said a word, but he chalked that up to be about her having nothing to say. Though, she usually did, which just made him worry even more. Edward looked back up and around him, spying a warm looking shop of odds and ends. He lead Demetria to it, and in they went, he would know when Alice got back, he had no worries about that. "You'll be warmer in here, look around if you wish dear, I'll be finding us a ride." Edward said, letting go of her but leaving his jacket on her. He didn't need it. "You'll be fine." He told her quietly, squeezing her shoulder lightly before going back out to do what he had meant to do.

Douglas had just finished giving instructions to the servants when he heard a knock. Douglas strode up to the door, looking every bit the king trapped in a boy's body. He had planned to leave, so he had changed into a clean pair of clothes. Douglas answered the door with a slightly tentative, slightly bored expression, like he couldn't decide if he wanted visitors or not. His eyes opened wider when he saw Alice. She had been the one with the servant... the swordsman. His hand strayed slightly towards his sword, but he let it drop. "Would you like to come in? It's a long walk from Chydenhil." He glanced behind him, then back at her.

(( City's name is Cheydinhal, but Edward and Demetria aren't with Alice at the moment. They're still very close to the gates they entered from but are inside town and Ed is getting them a carriage. ))

Demetria wandered aimlessly around the shop as Edward looked for a carriage. It was an interesting shop, none like they had at home. She covered her mouth as a cough escaped. 'Better not let Edward see that...' she muttered to herself.

Nicky sighed as she looked at the room. The room was to clean, stairel, for her taste. She got off the bed and streched. She went over and picked up the papers with the numbers and the promission note for his library. She tucked both away in a pocket she had hiden in the upper part of her dress. She went over to the door out of the room and quietly opened it. She peered out before stepping out of the room. She shut the door gently and then started walking to the right of the door. Walking down the middle of the hallway she aw'd at the items that were placed in the hallway. She stopped to stare at an painting that cought her intrest. She tilted her head as she studied it closily.

Demetria shuffled around the aisles, wondering where everyone was. She hadn't seen a shopkeeper much less a customer. Her eyes scanned the goods that laid on the shelves and in the cases until one caught her eye. A necklace, choker, actually. In the center was a deep red ruby that glistened in the light. It was surrounded by a black lace, perfectly framed. Demetria jumped as she felt breath on her neck. She spun quickly on her toes to face a grissly old man. "Quite the beauty, is it not?" his voice was deep and hoarse. "To bad for you." his breath was of garlic and onions making Demetria cringe in disgust (sp?). As the man walked away Demetria stuck her toungue out in her childish way. "Stupid old man." she muttered. She had been looking, that was all. Was it illegal for her to gaze? Jeez.

'Well that was most certainly easy.' Edward thought, walking back to the small shop that he had left Demetria in for shelter. The search for a carriage went fine, really smoothly too, and now it was waiting just outside the gates for them and would go wherever they wanted. It was still raining, so Edward was soaked when he walked back into the shop, at least he had tried to stay dry. Looking around, Edward found an old man walking around the shop, and away from Demetria's direction. He gave the man an odd look before going to Demetria's side, he caught a whiff of the old man's breath unfortunately. And did it ever smell bad.

Demetria was turning back around, away from the old man, when she caught out of the corner of her eye the dark figure she knew all too well. She spun around to face him and smiled. She walked over to him glad that he was back, she wasn't fond of this place all the sudden. "So how did everything go?" she asked, doing an incredible job of keeping her voice normal instead of the scratchy hell it should have sounded like. Her eyes were lit up because of Edwards return. She didn't like being alone outside the city, much less being near people. She had some issues.

Edward still had his eye on the old man, but looked down at Demetria with a smile, "Smoothly, though Alice is still not yet back." Edward said, looking around him a bit more. Seemed like no one else with in the shop, oh well. "Come now, I'm sure you'd rather wait elsewhere for them." He held a waterlogged arm out for her to take, she was wet herself, so a bit more water shouldn't hurt. "We'll wait in the carriage."

"As long as it smells better." she said happily, her voice cracking a bit. She ignored it, acting like nothing had happened, and gladly took Edward's arm. She averted her eyes temporarily to the apparent shopkeeper and shot him a glare, he happened to see her and glared back. She turned her head back to Edward and hugged his arm. He smelled much better.

Edward chuckled lightly, but didn't miss the cracking. He would be questioning her about the state of her heath once they were away from here. Well, since the shopkeeper want them there, and they didn't want to be around the shopkeeper any longer, Edward lead the way to the carriage. He tried to keep Demetria out of all the rain he could, going the long way around things and such until they finally got out of the gate, past the unconscious guards, and to where the horse drawn carriage stood waiting for them.

Demetria was amused at the fact he was so intent on keeping her out of the rain. She gazed up at the horses, it had been a long time since she had been so close. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of them. She loved horses. They were spectacular animals.

Ah, good. Smiling was good to see on Demetria's face, it always brightened his mood. Edward helped her into the carriage, stepping in after her and closing the door. He sat to the right of the door, making a face at how wet he was and how bad it would look to arrive damp and messed. Murakai would probably laugh at his disheveled appearance, ether from amusment or some other odd thought that would be running through his head at the time.
