"That's a negative, Alison. He's still on duty. My orders." Liz said over the comm system, smiling.
Tex glared at Nadab through her faceplate, then she remembered that she would have detint it. She did so and continued to glare at Nadab. "Don't call me "darlin'" unless you want to be hanging from a body part that experiences the most pain. Got it?" She said, her helmet less than an inch away from his.

Nadab only grinned wider. He loved to tease woman, and had the face that made many a maiden moist. The scar cutting threw his left eyebrow down at an angle to and through his lip only seemed to amplify this effect.
"Ah, what's the matter, lovie? Can stand nicknames? So?"

Alison pulled the Space even further at Lizz's announcement.
"Copy, ma'am. No class-A Space for the young'un."
She smiled and gave Johnson a wink.
"Sorry, mate. I tried. Wouldn't want Nadab popin' you for trippin' on duty.

Shinta’s head throbbed; he had a headache, and could think at all. There was pain, but he barely felt it. His eyes were shut and he couldn’t open them, it was like they were sown together. “Is there anyone there?” he said, with a desperate tone to his voice. He didn’t remember anything that had happened earlier, but he knew one thing, his team needed him, and yet he needed them. He couldn’t help his own team.

"Liz, the surgery is done and Shinta is awake. He's mumbling something. If it's okay, we're gonna give him something to help him relax." A doctor said over the comm system. "Negative, let him wake up." Liz said as she heard a metal-on-metal scraping sound and a dull thunk behind her. She turned around to see Nadab on the floor, propped up against a wall, a full 15 feet from where Tex had punched him. "That was really quite unneccessary." She said to Tex as she walked over to Nadab. "He's almost out cold. That's a first. I've never seen someone, not even a Spartan, who has managed to stay awake from one of your punches."

A woman's tired voice answered Shinta.
"He's awake."
Sets of hands pushed Shinta back to the medbay's bunk.
"Stay down sir, you're hooked up to a lot of wires right now. Do you know your name?"
A man's voice this time, not unkindly spoken.

Nadab only moaned in response, writhing and clutching at the shoulder where Tex had hit him. The armour was caved in, and blood was slowly trickling out of the breach.

“What the hell happened? And I know my damn name, it’s….” he paused. He started searching his mind; he stopped his eyes still wouldn’t open and he was completely confused. “s**t,” he sighed, “okay, I don’t know my name. In truth I barely remember anything. I remember a planet and shooting a bomb, a planet covered with water, and aliens.” He could only see glimpses of things he remembered but didn’t know, he felt like he wasn’t him, if that made any sense.

"Do you know where you are? The name of the ship?"
To the nurse on the other side of Shinta, he said.
"Lower his IV drip to 130/60, please Therese. We need to get the bandages off his head, soon."

"Just as I thought. It's broken." Liz said to Tex when she examined Nadab's shoulder. "You didn't warn him about my short temper? Typical Liz." Tex said in response. "And tell him that my real name is Allison and that he should call me that from now on when he wakes up." She said, then walked over to her team. The Hunter nodded in approval of what she had done, while the rest just backed off just out of her arm's reach.

Nadab squeezed his eyes tighter closed.
"Ugh...I'm gonna...kill...that b***h..."
Alison laughed aloud when she and Johnson walked on this scene.
"The ******** happened t' him?"

"Tex punched him. First time someone hasn't passed out from a punch from her." Liz said, looking at Nadab.

Shinta went back into his mind; he started to hunt for the information. He stopped and started to cough, he felt the blood dripping from his hand; that was one thing he did remember. He clenched the bloody hand and information started to flow, “My name….my name is Shinta, Hinamura Shinta. Our ship is the New York, we were boarded by the covenant, we began fighting them, and I was ambushed.” He didn’t know what brought these things back.

"Good. And the year?"
Faint beeping echoed from Shinta's left as Therese lowered the rate of the IV drip.
"Therese, hand me the sizzuhs, please. Major Shinta, we're going to sit you up, and cut off the bandage on your head. You got injured on the bridge, and was put into a morphine coma. Sergeant Atridies brought you down here, and we had to put you into immediate surgery. You had three ribs cracked, a lunge punctured and severe head trauma, as well as numerous minor cuts, burns and lacerations. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

That only made Alison laugh louder. Nadab weakly flipped her the bird.
"A girl, Nadab? You got buggered by a girl?"

Shinta nodded, “I don’t know what year it is, but you mean I got the crap beaten out of me.” He said as he slowly started to sit up. He felt awful, but he knew this was as bad as earlier. He then remembered being punched, “That b***h!” he shouted, “She punched me!” He lowered his head; he had been put out by a single punch. The only thing he didn’t remember about that was why she punched him.
((I'm have to go for a bit, I have a project to do, but it shouldn't take long))

[Alrighty then! Have fun!]
The doctor didn't even seem fazed by the outburst.
"Hold still please, Major. I wouldn't want to cut you again."
He placed the cold metal of the scissors at the base of the bandages on Shinta's upper half of his head, and began to cut.
"Do you need more pain meds?"
"No thanks, Therese; I've got it here. Go see to Bed Four."

"Well, Tex is a Spartan, so that's no surprise there." Liz said as Tex went down to the weapons bay to get more ammo for her weapons. "She was the strongest Spartan, at least until I got this arm." She said, removing the armor on her right arm, showing a metal reconstruction of a human arm.
