Ben's face grew considerably irked when he heard his brother's statement. He had no right to talk about Synge like that! Looking rather angry, Ben got into Jeff's face and spoke rather angrily.
Don't you EVER say that about her AGAIN! Do YOU UNDERSTAND ME! Synge is my everything! She loves me more than anyone else can understand. Her eye is the result of another thing...it has nothing to do with why she chose me! ******** you if you ever say something bad about her again!

Jeff's eyes widened when he saw how angry Ben became. He held his hands in the air as if surrendering, his tone was a lot softer than it had been before.
Woah! Easy there man...I am just picking on you..no he said she was really beautiful and that you were so happy with her...ease up man...I didn't mean to insult her. Geez...don't be so on edge...K? Smoke that damn cig of yours.

Ben's face softened at his brother's response and he instantly regretted getting so worked up. He noddedd an took a drag off his smoke, he slowly let the smoke out as he felt his blood pressue going down. Once he blew out the drag, he took a breath of normal air and shook his head.
Sorry..I...I just love her...a lot. She gets all kinds of looks...why are people so damned superficial? Anyway...heh..I am glad Mort liked her, he is pretty close to dad...
Ben looked around at the place as he took a deep breath in and then another drag. His dad wanting to check on him seemed almost like a lie but he knew when his brother was lying and this wasn't one of those times.
Oh yea....I know. It's...um...getting worse.
Ben's voice sounded so defeated. He really didn't know how to feel better and not even Cap's medicine was helping him like he hoped.

Jeff watches and listens as his brother talked, he really could tell how much his brother cared about Synge and decided he shouldn't approach the topic any further. But when he heard Ben was getting worse, his face grew very concerned.
Bro...that's not good....you know what Doctor Miller said about it getting worse....how long do you normally make it now?

Ben shakes his head as he tries to think about it. He didn't like talking about this. Of course he knew what Doctor Miller had said but he didn't trust him like Dad did. He knew that there was more.
I...I don't know...I would say...maybe 5 hours or 6....

*Keira wakes up and yawns. She looks around the room and feeling lik eher whole body's gravity is out a whack. She immidiatly gets out of bed and heads downstairs to make some coffee*

The look of shock in Jeff's eyes was very surprising, he normally was nowhere near this expressive but this shook him very deeply. The thought of how much of the living day his brother lost worried him, he almost wanted to demand he go in for treatment but this was not the best idea.
Damn...when we were hanging out last time you could last 8 to 10 hours and only use minimal stimulus drinks. That can't be good...what do you want to do...I mean..I obviously know what I think you should do...but that never worked for you...did it?

(( Cliff's notes - Ben's brother is a rocker dude who randomly showed up here checking on him and is now worried about Ben's sickness. ))
Ben looks around nervously as he sees Keira come downstairs. This was not something he felt prepared to talk about to her. Or perhaps he should let someone know besides Synge and his family. He was too confused to make any choices right now.
Look..I know...I know...my body is getting weaker. But I am working on a new breakthrough..I just need more time...
He looks up to see Keira and smiles nervously.

Zac slowly wakes up and stretches the kinks out of her body, for a moment she just lays in bed, and stairs at the ceiling, much like she did last night before finally falling asleep. Then sighing softly she hops out of bed and picks up her shoes to head downstairs, and then places them on her feet as she reaches the main tavern, where Keira seems to be.
Good morning.
Zac also see's to people sitting at the main bar and recognizes one to be Ben, and waves to him and the other man as well.

((Uhh...you guys would see us here...we are sitting at the table in the main tavern. ))
Jeff looks up at the new arrival and then he hears another person come downstairs, clearly this was starting to get crowded. He nodded as he listened to Ben. He knew he had never really given up the trade he started.
Ok...but you really ought to finish that degree before you start making plans man....you are almost there...you need to keep it up...uhh...maybe I should...go?

Ben felt himself almost sink into panic mode, he hoped that no one had heard him talking about the situation. When Keira spoke to him he almost seemed to jump as if starteld.
Oh! uh..this is my brother Jeff. Jeff, this is Keira Lane, she cooks for us here and kind of tends the place if I am not around.
Were Keira to look long enough at Jeff, she could certainly tell the similarities. Jeff has the same facial strcuture as Ben's even though he looked older. However, his mannerisms and his clothes looked very different than Ben.
