Tien gritted his teeth at the sound, leaping high into the air as his wings appeared to get away from it. Out of the three Sulla's Tien's hearing was the best and the most sensitive due to lycan blood in his vains. COmbined with a vmapire's sense of hearing...that sound was beyond his sense of tolerance. In fury he sent a powerful mental attack into Jack's mind, one that Aurora had taught him herself.

The attack smacked into Jack's barriers which held for about thirty seconds before it broke through. Jack fell to one knee, his hands on either side of his head but he didn't stop his assault, his nose began to bleed but he gritted his fangs and bore it, even managing to intensify the sound.

Tien was just as stubborn, altough he couldn't stay in the air for long. Magic was draining and especially the one he was using. It was ancient and was that way even before he was born. His claws dug into the roof he had barely managed to land on, but he continued the assault.
The powerful energy was too much for Tara to just do nothing about. The city was filling with the energy both mental and physical pain washingl over her. She was an Empath and a powerful one at that. The hatred and anger, even the stubborness of the too was beyond her tolerance. The vampiress ran towards the Nocturne, bursting through the doors to look for Melrin. She was the only one she knew who who stood this. Let her call Jack to stop. Tara could deal with Tien herself...she hoped.

Merlin was easy to find, her eyes were hard, irritated, and only slightly amused. She already know what Tara had in mind, or at least a pretty good idea, she grabbed Tara's hand and brought her back outside and looked up. She gritted her fangs, "Stop." She said simply.
To Jack it was like he was being attacked by his own power. The word echoed in his head and he felt himself stop and slump forward as Merlin's will filled his head and held him still. It wasn't an uncomfortable stillness, it was simple inactivity, he found that he was totally relaxed, waiting seemingly for the next command.

The sound in his ears suddenly stopped, making him fall forward. He was pretty sure some damage had been done to his eardrums and if he could hear clearly any time soon it would be a miracle. But he wasn't done with Jack...
That is, he wasn't until Tara finished it for him. Her voice flowed in his head and stayed there, "Let him be." It was more than her voice that stopped him, but something else...her inner power that he didn't even know about. Tara had been keeping this power hidden for years, training on her own with it and even was given a few lessons by Aurora and even Dorien..but he had to be convinced by Moneko to even glance her way.
He stopped and looked down at her, silently and emotionlessly before closing his eyes and grinning, "I see you've kept it hidden well dear sister." he said, strangely as calm as Jack was.
"I'm sorry brother..." Tara said, but her voice was the same, "I just can't let you turn him insane like you did Troden."

Turn me insane? Yeah right.... Jack thought lethargically. He let out a gasp when he was suddenly able to move. He wobbled a bit but stood, "Thanks I guess..." He grinned sheepishly at both women.
Merlin's expression had gone completely flat again, "This is becoming ridiculous." She commented quietly.
Jack sighed, "I think I need a bit of rest....to rebuild..." Jack pointed out muzzily.
Merlin turned her attention to Jack, "Come with me."
Jack followed uncertainly before looking at Tara for a moment. He then looked at Tien and gave a slightly drunk smile, "Nice fight. I think we both would have been worst for wear, though." He then tottered inside.

[This may be slightly confusing...]
Tien slowly walked off the rooftop and landed a few feet infront of Tara. He nodded in acknowlegement of Jack's statement, but waited to speak until Merlin and Jack were inside, "How long?"
"All my life."
"Who taught you?"
"Everyone."
"I see."
"I'm sorry."
"That's a lie."
"You're right."
"I know."
"Goodbye."
"Took you long enough." Tien said, with a smirk before turning around, "You know what will happen when we meet again."
Tara nodded before hugging him gently, "Leave now." Almost immediately Tien was gone leaving nothing but air in Tara's arms. She then leaned against the wall and let the tears of relief and sadness go free.

Merlin had put Jack to bed and turned her attention to Tara, for a moment she wanted to rush out and comfort her but she hesitated and waited a moment, she needed a bit of time to cry. Merlin had always been an advocate of tears though many found it as a weakness, it was simply emotions making themselves manifest, it relieved the pressure inside.
She let her alone for five minutes, that was all she could manage before sending out one of her cats to weave in and out of Tara's legs and purr as loud as any car engine. Large, unblinking, dark red eyes stared up at her for a moment before mewling and rearing up, propping it's front paws on her thigh.

Tara had by then slid to the floor, her legs pulled infront of her. The comforting purr and the dark red eyes brought a weak smile as she watched the cat, bringing it close to her and petting it gently, "It's the Sulla way I guess..." she said, looking into the cat's eyes, "To be enemies of everyone..including our own blood."

At the moment the cat had disconnected from Merlin, Tara was one of his favorites to sit on but Merlin had prevented him from coming up till now so he didn't respond to her only pressed his nose to her cheek before licking it a few times.

It didn't really matter whether anyone replied or not, it was just comforting to have someone there, even if it was a cat. She brought him close, scratching him in his favorite spots as the pain, even though it would take a while, slowly ease. She had lost the closest person to her besides Merlin and the others, even if in the end he had become too power hungry to be a true brother anymore. She had felt that he still cared for her although he didn't know it anymore.
"My family must be cursed.." she murmured.

"Oh there you are!" A voice said off to her left, "I don't think we've ever met, I'm Magnolia!" She grinned broadly and held out a hand. She'd crouched down so they were eye level.

Magnolia blushed, "Yeah well....I've got empathy so I kinda felt you....that's all. So I just got paid and there's this movie I wanna see. You want to come?" She asked finally, "Pirates of the Caribbean, the second one, I've been dying to see it."

Tara couldn't believe what she was hearing. A woman she barely knew was asking to hang out with her! But she had heard worse, "Um...sure" she said, slowly standing up.
