Remaining up at the helm with Myere, Syn glanced up when she heard the Captain's orders and saluted with a laugh, watching as he descended below. She spun on her heels and took the hourglass in her hand, turning it over and watching with a strangely amused face as the sand started running through again.

"It just keeps running out."

She moved over to the bell and struck it four times, listening to the echo the sound made as it went out over the water and in the ship, smiling to herself as she rejoined Myere at the helm. Tuslo preened himself with a bored look on his face, if parrots could even show emotion in that manner. Syn winced and adjusted her eyepatch, wiping at something that had dribbled just the tiniest bit below the patch.

*After much distortion and after much aimless wondering Aeoess spotted a woman with a bleeding right hand (JadenKale)*

"May I assist you?"

*Aeoess pulls out some cloth and some alcohol, on Jaden's word she would be ready to help heal the wound further.*

"Thank you, Miss Aeoess, but as you can see, the Doctor has bandaged me up quite fine..." she said as she turned to her.

"I simply wasn't thinking before I did something... that is all" still flushed in the face, she walked back over to the Doctor and the rest of the crew.

*Aeoess looked at him and laughed a little*

"Well, I have no idea of why you would be the one to give me orders at this time, I should see if the captain wishes for me to be at the 'nest, if not you may consider you bell to be spotless when I return"

*She smiles and walks off in a hurried pace*

Listening to Myere speak in his odd accent (and understanding every word), Syn tilted her head backward and shrieked with laughter, finding what he said very amusing indeed. Tuslo jumped, startled, flapping his wings before gaining a new perch and settling down with a glance of dismay toward his mistress. She was acting crazy again.

Gray eye gleaming like a polished gem, tears of mirth brimming on the lid, she leaned on the helm for a moment then straightened up, still giggling almost hysterically. It seemed the new Purser was easily amused. Then again, that was probably to be expected if your brain was just a little messed up.

"Ahhhhh, ye don't say? Well, I ain't thinkin' that the Cap'n is gonna be doin' the foolish act so I'm takin' ye at yer word, chum." She chuckled as she remembered what he said to Aeoess. "Ah, yes, the stupid questions. I'm willin' to bet yer goin' to be hearin' a few from me 'bout this ship. Though we can leave the swabbin' and shinin' to Miss Aeo."

Grinning broadly, she never though about how maybe the reason no man had ever shown a romantic interest in her was because of her boisterous nature...

Destiny came onto the gun deck, with her sketch pad tucked under one arm. Gazing about the crowded deck, she foundherself a place to sit, where she would be out of the way, and sat down.

Looking about the deck, she decided to first sketch out one of the cannon, and its piles of ropes, hot, fuse box, and other different odds and ends on the gundeck.

(Continued from the captain's bunk)

*Aeoess felt good about not stealing, but weird about forgetting her duties, and for not remembering who her superiors were. (Aside from the captain)

She commanded Eittik to fetch her her rag. After she found a bucket and some rope she got some water. Once Eittik returned she began cleaning the bell, mixing some soap she had with her with the water. She attempted to make it shine, after all..She felt kind of stupid for disobeying the man with the accent, but she thought it was time to make it up to him.

It took her about an hour but the bell shined as though it was brand new.*

"...And now for the deck.."

*She looked upon the deck, seeing areas where rum bottles, and many other fithy things were left. She sighed and continued on.*

* She stood silently in the Doctor's shadow as he talked with the rest of the crew above deck. Jaden wanted to thank him and for some reason felt compelled to try to hug him, but instead she withdrew herself from doing such a thing.

"How improper of me..." she thought to herself as she stood in the wake of jovial conversation.

She was there, but she wasn't part of the group. It had always been that way for her. She knew too much for her own good. And as such, it caused her to pull away from others. She wanted to show the Doctor that she apprieciated all that he did for her, but she was afraid that it would fall on deaf ears. The Doctor was obviously a forgetful sort, as she still was not able to have her silk ribbon returned to her, so maybe, perhaps, her feelings towards him were only one sided.

Jaden crossed back to the hatch to the lower levels where she decided to sit and think things out in a logical manner. She decided that it was all in her head after thinking a long time about her arrival on the boat. She was stealing from him when first they met and that hardly put her best foot forward in his eyes. She sighed heavily and pulled her legs up to her chest as she looked out to the night skies. The stars winked at her over and over as the simple sounds of the water gently breaking upon the bow, the soft flutter of the sails, and the murmur of voices just over a ways from the crew retelling tales of old as well as those of the more recent experiences from the storm buzzed quietly in her ears. She was starting to feel alone in this huge world even with the crew accepting her aboard the ship, but she quite didn't know why. Fortuneately, the smell of the sweet salty air and that of something succulent from the galley below caused her stomach to grumble loudly, causing her to somewhat forget about the loneliness she was feeling.

She cradled her right hand once more and looked at the crew joking and carrying on. She smiled at little at them and made a last fleeting thought about the Doctor before shaking it out of her mind and closing her eyes, waiting for Miss Destiny to call for food soon.*

The Doctor finally mustered the will to stand up from the steps of the quarterdeck where he had been sitting. He just stared out at sea for a few minutes, and he put his hands in his pocket.

He was surprised to find something in his pocket and when he checked he found it was a ribbon, dyed black. He thought for a moment then remembered Miss Kale's letter. He surveyed the deck and located her sitting on the hatchway. He walked over to her, kneeled down and placed the ribbon in her hand.

"I believe this belongs to you. I should return it now for I do not know how much longer I will be among you and the other crewmembers of the Lady."

With that said, he stood up and proceeded to walk to the mainmast. He leaned himself there and stared out into the open ocean.

*Startled by him coming over, she was at a loss for words as the Doctor knelt down beside her. She looked up towards him as he took her hand and laid her silk ribbon across her palm and began to speak to her.*

"I believe this belongs to you. I should return it now for I do not know how much longer I will be among you and the other crewmembers of the Lady."

*Her eyes filled with a combination of confusion and sorrow as she tried to understand what he meant. Thoughts as to why he would leave the Lady and the crew only confused her further. She began to think it was her fault for trying to steal from him and that she made him feel uncomfortable.

Jaden got up from the deck and quietly walked over to Reginald beside the mainmast. Without trying to startle him, she gently laid a hand on his shoulder before sliding over to lean her back against the mast. She spoke softly as she too stared out across the darkend sea.*

"Are... are you planning to leave us, Reg-" she stopped quickly and corrected herself, "Doctor?" She continued to look out at the ocean as the breeze blew her auburn locks about her face.
"Because... I... would hate to see you leave... the Lady and the crew..." and although the sentance was choppy, what she wanted to say was there, despite her trying to cover it up.

*She didn't say anything else after that. Her face had become flushed and crimson from what she had said and she desperately hoped that her hair floating around her face masked that on a night like this. She gingerly held her bandanged right hand up to her chest, holding the silk ribbon close to her heart. She cradled her right with her left and closed her eyes as she listened again to the sounds of the water and the crew.*

Not too far away from the Lady Washington, leaning uncomfortably against a tree and fighting the powerful winds, the huddled form of Dr. Morgan stood vigil atop the Rock of Gibralter. Last night had been difficult. He'd been nearly spotted by a British patrol and some monkeys had made off with most of his food stores. If the Lady didn't come past in the next week, he would be forced to hunt the ridiculous creatures or somehow get back off the rock and into town.

He wasn't entirely sure what his reception would be like in the town- his ship had been forced to leave in a hurry upon word of the pending arrival of the British fleet, and somehow forgotten their skipper in the process. No matter, the ship was fine without him and would eventually make its way back to Provoka. In the meantime, however, he would need passage home and the only friendly ship he knew of in these waters was the Lady. She would be past eventually, there was no other way out of the Mediterranean, but he did not know when. He eyed a passing monkey critically.

"Bugg'r off. Ook ooky."

The monkey paid no heed, and the tall man wrapped himself still tighter in his coat to fend off the cold, his wild green hair flapping around with the winds. He stared bitterly out to sea, still dealing with the most difficult part of his plan- how to reach the ship without compromising it or killing himself in the process. If they made port there would not be an issue, but otherwise he was out of ideas, save stealing a boat or making a raft. Or trying that "gliding" nonsense the broken-faced man in the pub had told him about while he was buying provisions for this ridiculous stay on the rock.

Blasted monkeys.

Humming an odd, mismatched tune to herself, Syn held onto the helm and looked up at the sails flapping in the wind. She couldn't help but wonder what the rest of the crew was doing, but she just kept her position, running her fingers over the wood with a fond smile. She loved the way the whole thing felt and smelled... But Myere had the ship under control by now so she gave him a quick nod, backing away.

"I'm headin' down below to see if there's anything else the Cap'n would like me to do. Odds are he'll send me right back to watch ye turn the wheel s'more. Here's hopin' I don't fall overboard!"

She hurried down onto the deck, Tuslo perched on her shoulder. Sadly enough she had no use back at the helm by now, so hopefully the Captain would reappear and perhaps give her a job that she could actually do.
