So if I clicks the BAN link next to a guild member's name, can they rejoin later? I was under the impression that they could rejoin if I sent them an invite or if they waited two weeks.
I'm pretty sure the source of that information was the Captain's guild, but since that's gone... There goes a major reference for me.

Well, I didn't HAVE to ban him. I was cleaning out my guild of people who weren't in the RP anymore. He was an active user, just not in my guild. I knew he had a bunch of RPs going already, so I figured he didn't need to be a member of the guild if he had 0 posts after a month.
Shows how much I know.

When banned, the user can rejoin the guild later (though there might or might not be a minimum 2 weeks waiting period before they can send another application to join). As for sending them an invite afterward, I'm honestly not sure.

If a member is kicked from a guild, as far as I know they can join the guild again by having someone invite them back. Apprently you can only submit one request join a guild through the guild front page.
