Cassidy heard footsteps, a few good miles away and knew instantly it was Shadow. She was running again, sprinting at the speed of light until she was at his side.
"Hey," she whispered sadly as she leaned against the tree he sat under.

"Hello there Cassidy. She is gone now with my daughter. I don't think I will see either of them again." he said with sadness dominating his voice. He pulled out his grandfathers ring and slid it onto one of his fingers.

Cassidy continued to stand as she remained uninvited to sit. "Shadow, I'm so sorry, this is all my fault," she whispered to him guilt dominating her voice. She noted the ring and asked, "What's that do, or for?"

"Sit down Cassidy." he said as he patted a spot next to him. "Don't blame yourself for this. You have done nothing wrong. Itis me who has messed everything up." he said with a sigh before moving on to the ring. "This ring belonged to my grandfather who was the founder of our line. It shas high magical properties you see. Some say it can even bring you back from true death but it is not something I have witness nor do I want to try and test the theory."

Cassidy sat down and cuddled up next to him. "Shadow, how can I not? It's my fault they left." Her voice was guilt stricken. "Oh," cassidy whispered a little bit suprised. "Shadow," she whispered softly, "I'm so sorry."

Cassidy cracked a small smile and said, "It does." She snuggled closer to him getting comfy and yawned. "If it makes you feel any better, I love you." Cassidy toyed with a strand of her and said, "When do you think Daddy and Trixie will be here Shadow? I still have to warn Abel you know...not to mention find a way to keep safe." She shuddered at the thought of him. "I'm scared Shadow," she whispered in a voice like that of a child. "Pitter Patter, the children will scatter, and Trixie will clean their bones. Tick Tack, Daddy's back, and he's no longer alone..." Cassidy gasped as a hand flew to her mouth. "Shadow...I...I didn't mean to say that." Cassidy's eyes widened in fright, he was in her mind, again...

"That means alot to me Cassidy." he said and kissed the top of her head. "I have no idea when you Dad will get here, I don't even know when my own enemies will get here but I do sense something in the winds. Either My enemies are close or your father is. You don't have to worry about being safe, I'll protect you and keep you safe. Nothing is going to harm you as long as I live." he was about to say don't be scared until he hear her speak after it. "What is that little b*****d in your mind again?" he asked concerned for Cassidy.

The kiss helped calm her shaking a bit, but it didn't stop it. "He feels close Shadow, and not just with Trixie, others." She nuzzled him against his neck softly and said, "I know you will Shadow." She felt so much better having Shadow at her side, if she didn't she knew she wouldn't be able to survive. When he inquired as to her Father being inside her mind yet again she slowly nodded her head. "Yes, he won't go away. I'm trying not to let him come out, but somtimes he wins. He's scaring me Shadow, he....he's not even here and he's already winning."

Kave arose very slowly, when he stretched his back popped and cracked. 'Today was going to be a long day" he groaned as he got dressed. He glanced at his bed, seeing a lump he made no second thoughts. He left his room quietly, watching lovingly over the bed as he shut the door, only the clank of the lock to be heard.
Kave went outside to get some fresh air. He leaned over a rail and stared at the ground.

"Others... how many others do you think?" he asked wondering if they where on they way to either take advantage of the impending attack from Marquis or was working with him. Shadow put the bottle down and then placed his other arm around Cassidy. "You just have to fight it Cassidy, you are alot stronger than you where in the past. Don't ever forget that I am here for you... maybe you should take this instead of me." he said as he removed the ring from his hand and placed it into Cassidy's hand. "Take it, please."

Cassidy shuddered and said, "Lots and Daddy and Trixie are coming with some very powerful people, Vampires. Undead. Lots." She huddled in his arms, thankfull for their protection. "I'm trying Shadow, I'm really trying. And I'll never forget that Shadow, never."
Cassidy closed her around the ring and held it for a moment before sliding it onto her thumb, the only finger that was big enough for it to fit onto. "Thank you Shadow, but, I want you to know, I'm only wearing it because it's yours. My little piece of you, that I'll have even when you arn't at my side." she smiled weakly and said. "I wonder who else is around. The few people I know, either like me or hate me."
She sighed and said, "There's so little love here, sometimes that is."

Nadea had picked herself up and was beginning the painfully long trip back to the mansion. She hadn't a clue what time it was or where she was, she just knew by instinct that she was heading in the right direction. She turned around and glanced back to where she was laying and shivered, she hated cemeteries and mausoleums. She grumbled all the way through the woods, she was pissed off, frustrated at herself and the world around her, specifically her creator. The trees parted and revealed the mansion a few miles ahead of her, "Oh thank...someone!" she exclaimed as she quickened her walking.

At that point Shadow was very uncomfortable. "So he is comming with them then. That just gives me something else to prepair for." he said to himself as he though of what was comming here. Shadow would need to raise his own undead but with so few corpses around it would be difficult. "No one here hates you Cassidy, the only person that did is now gone." he said before kissing her.
