Hello everyone. I''ve played the trumpet for 2 years...I used to play the piano, then the alto sax, then the french horn and now the trumpet. Lol...I play classical music and like 2 rock songs. I get alot of musical insperation from the lord of the rings sound tracks, they''re really great musician''s playing there and I like to try and pick out all the diffrent intruments.

Number_09 iOggy Anyway, before we wander TOO far off-topic... anybody have a piece of trumpet music that they REALLY like to play? Whether it's a solo piece or just your part in a concert arrangement, share it with us!
I have a novice-level arrangement of the Star Trek: DS9 theme that I love to play, just because it's Star Trek. Well, I think of it as novice-level. *shrug* There are a fair amount of top-of-staff Gs. Oooh! Could you send me the music for the DS9 theme, please? *is a rabbid Trekkie*
I think I might be able to arrange to have it posted in the Sheet Music Exchange... of course, the quality won't be all that great, as I have no scanner, and my GOOD camera is about 2500 miles away... . Anyway, yeah. Shouldn't be a problem.
Oh, and about the vibrato thing... I also say Lip.

*happy dance of DOOM*
So, I got an email from my new section leader, and guess how many trumpets are in my band this year?
*dramatic pause*
Thirty-two. 17 newbies, including me, and 15 vets.
*repeats the happy dance of DOOM*

And is yours a high school band?
Mine is not. At least, not anymore. My HS band had about six trumpets.

Well, we're a very tiny school. We get by. What we lose in quantity we gain in quality. You should hear our 1st chair play. He's insane. sweatdrop

We had three trumpets in out concert band this past year (our band was about 40). This fall, we hope to have three more trumpet players; two newbies and someone who's coming back to band after quitting for a year.

We shall see. I haven't actually met anybody yet, as band camp doesn't start until Monday, and since the school's in Arizona, and I'm, well, NOT, that makes it kinda hard. I missed the pre-camp sectional/pizza party. crying
