Rather than hit the ground, however, the Marill landed in the lake with a splash. His eyes lit up in delight when he looked around, seeing the expanse of water to play in. Violet shrugged in her jog. "Maybe. I did say 'faster', after all," she drawled back, "Most pokemon tend to level up at some rate even if they don't do much. It just happens more quickly if you put effort into it. Especially if you battle." She frowned, bowing her head and knocking up the speed a bit. Unfortunately, battling wasn't really an option here. She planned to make as much use of what she did have, though, as she could. Hopefully once her trainer fetched her, she would be able to sink her claws into some real combat.

"Makes sense!" Brooke chirped, and it did! It was plausible too. There were pokemon being born every day and in every corner of the world, there was no way any pokemon, even a legendary, could defeat every single last one of them. "Starting with just one type seems smart, I suggest going for one that you have an advantage against.. or.. no," she stopped, suddenly a bit indecisive. "Maybe a type that you have a disadvantage against, that way once you power through every type after will be easier in comparison."
She didn't dwell on this long, however, and jumped back to her feet. "C'mon! While we still have time let's head back to the lake I saw, we'll start your lesson there." This was... exhilarating! Who knew being a teacher could be this great? She got to pass her knowledge onto another pokemon, a pokemon who seemed committed to learning at this. "Tally-ho!"

Ace gave a grin, a wide, toothy, sheepish grin that stretched across his face. "Don't they?" The talk of his evolution certainly loosened him up, quite a bit in fact. "My big brother is already a Charmeleon, and my parents are full grown Charizards!" The idea of having wings, although frightening, was extremely exciting. Sure, there were about a million other diseases he could contract once he got into the air buuut he wouldn't think about that, not now at least. With his tail still wagging Ace tried to imagine an even larger PJ. "Oh, a stone? ...I hope you wash it before you use it." The last part he added as an afterthought, with a small frown appearing. He stood up with PJ and gave a nod, contemplating their next direction, before he started North. "I bet you'll get a lot stronger here! I don't know how long I'll be here, so I'll try and stay with you as long as I can. You know.. if you want."

Titan swiveled his head from side to side, to his left was the human's attempt to recreate a desert: a wide span of sand and even a few cacti, and to his right was... a grassland, lush and green. Two very different ecosystems, and yet they were in relative proximity of each other. This human establishment really did try to accommodate for the different pokemon that came into their care, it was remarkable. But the expenses to keep such a large area flourishing, not to mention basic necessities, surveillance, and protection.. either they footed their clients with a hefty bill or they were being funded.
A soft, easy sigh distracted Titan from his inner thoughts and he turned to look at the little Ralts who rested on his shoulder. Her small stature left her transportable, and when the young pokemon had grown tired and requested to be carried he had obliged, he had been tasked with her wellbeing and would complete it without fail. "Charge has been sleeping for forty-five minutes and one second of a requested hour hibernation, fourteen minutes and fifty-nine seconds remain before designated awakening," he spoke to himself, voice settings on low. Until Hinata awoke he would continue at the same, slow pace he had kept for the past forty-five minutes, sixteen seconds, and afterwards they'd continue their training.

Keep that attitude, and something may end up killing you before you get strong enough to really burn anything. Or strong enough to burn anything impressive," she scoffed. She slowed the speed, closing her eyes as she fell down to a long-legged walk, working to get her breathing a bit more regulated. She opened her eyes, gazing at him out of the corner of her eye, watching him stand on his hands. "What about when your trainer wants you to battle? Will you put effort into that?" she asked coolly.

Annie seemed to be seriously considering Brooke's advice. He nodded, tapping his 'chin' thoughtfully with one claw. "Hmm... Yeeaaaahhh, that makes sense! I'll prolly have to get pretty strong to be able to beat them, though...." he mused. He paused and looked down at himself. Or, well... as much of himself as he could see, twisting and turning a bit to try and grab glimpses of the rest of him. "... I wonder what I am weak against..." he remarked. He... Well, actually, he didn't tally know what he was. His first memories were in that lab. Then he was absorbed into a ball, and then... he was in front of his new trainer, getting named, and introduced, and finding out his trainer was blind.
And then he was here!

Speaking of fast! Brooke was already off! Annie had to scurry to try and catch up with her, speeding through the grass towards the lake. "Woo!" he added, figuring excited calls were a part of this new training lesson. He couldn't wait to learn how to swim! Funny how he even knew what swimming was...

PJ grinned, giving a nod of his head. "They do!" he confirmed. His tail wagged as Ace continued to explain about his family. "You have family? Evolved family? That's so cool!" he commented excitedly. All he remembered were some other growlithes, his siblings probably, and all of them bounding around in a box, before his trainer's parents picked him up.
He quirked his head to the side when Ace mentioned washing the stone. "Huh? Why'd you wash a fire stone?" he asked curiously. He seemed to still be musing over the idea as he bent down to scoop up his bag, following along after Ace. "'At 'oold be ate!" He paused to set the bag down, beaming. "That would be great!" he tried again, moving to pick it up to continue walking, "The getting stronger, and you staying part, that is." He was enjoying Ace's company so far, after all. And it was fun to have someone to talk to.

Violet frowned. Boy, this monkey was messed up. This was not what 'friends' were, not even under normal definitions, let alone her definitional standards. "Then go make friends with someone else." Not that she was going to stay that. She was learning, sort of. If he hadn't heard her before, and caught onto it now, saying they "weren't friends" likely wouldn't change things. "It's good to stretch your horizons and increase your options a bit..." she added, unable to keep all of the sarcastic bitterness from her voice. But hey, could anyone blame her? She didn't want to be friends and the feeling certainly wasn't mutual, and yet he wouldn't leave her alone. The least she could hope for would be that he might take an interest in someone else... or maybe he'd get bored and leave.

"Maybe that's the next thing you could figure out," Brooke suggested before she cocked her head to the side and narrowed her eyes thoughtfully, appraising Annie. "You look like a bug-type to me," she continued on. "Or.. steel? You had that one move earlier..." she allowed herself to trail off, not as up-to-date on her type identification, or pokemon identification for that matter, as she wanted to be. She didn't dwell over that for too long, however, for soon the two were racing back towards the lake, whopping and hollering loudly. Halfway there Brooke turned her head back to regard Annie, though her head couldn't do the exact tilt needed to look down at his low-traveling body. "Out of curiosity, how much experience do you have with swimming?"

"Yup! I grew up wild in a place with a lot of my species," Ace informed, the swinging of his tail dying down to a light switch through the air when he realized how hazardous it was to just fling it about, he wasn't trying to start a forest fire. "What about you? Were you always a wild pokemon?"
Ace gave a sheepish smile before pressing his claws together, "well you know, stones are dirty, you don't know where it's been or who it's been with or near, you don't want to get all those germs all over your body, you could catch the flu or something worse," he explained. The Charmander turned his head at the sound of yelling, and after a moment's consideration changed directions to follow the voices, that sounded like Brooke... He perked up when PJ agreed to allow him to stay and grinned once again, this one far brighter. "Okay, uhm, cool!"

-]Frankly, Striker didn't see the problem with any of it. True, this Hounder wasn't the sort of pokemon he'd normally consider a "friend", but it was the best word he had for what Violet was to him. The best part of interacting with her, though was messing with her, so he needed to do more of that. -]Again the Marill dove beneath the surface of the water, pushing himself hard to try and reach farther than the last time. The water mouse wanted to find out how deep this lake was. More than that, he wanted to know what sort of stuff might be at the bottom. However, he wasn't the best swimmer yet. Better than other pokemon that weren't water types, sure...that was no contest. His swimming abilities, however, still had a long way to go, and that's what he planned to work on.[-
Violet rolled her eyes. "There are at least thirty pokemon over by the water, and several more by the rocks. There are plenty more pokemon," she growled. She really wanted him to leave. She didn't enjoy any of this. And if he tried to mess with her again, she'd either bite him, and this time try to knock him out, or she'd just outrun him. For all his acrobatics, she was fairly positive she was faster than him. She was certainly stronger.

Shaking off the thoughts, he eagerly followed Brooke, coming to a stop as she asked. "None!" he replied rather matter of factly. That was right-- she was training a complete novice.

PJ lifted himself up a bit, looking at Ace with slightly widened eyes. "You... grew up in the wild...?" he asked. He seemed almost... awed by it. Or perhaps simply surprised. He didn't know any charmanders could be in the wild. It made sense, but... they were so often mentioned as being trainers starter pokemons and stuff.... He looked down, thoughtfully, but then raised his head, giving a shake at the other pokemon's question. "No, I was never really a 'wild' pokemon," he answered rather simply.
PJ blinked a few times as he looked at the Charmander, only to grin big at his concern. "I won't get sick! I burn too hot for most germs to even survive! Besides, who knows how stone evolution even works. I may not even have to worry about stuff like that!" he remarked, his tail wagging optimistically behind him. He continued wagging as Ace seemed to rejoice at his response, and followed along behind him, opting out of talking with his bag in his mouth this time. Hopefully they were on their way to finding Ace's friend.

"...Wait, what?" Brooke skidded to a stop and spun around to fully face Annie, her expression giving away her surprise. "You have absolutely no training with swimming? Like.... nadda, zilch?" She brought a flipper to her chin to pat curiously. "Well.. it's a good thing I asked before we got to the water!" she stated finally before she turned back around and made for the lake once more, this time at a much slower pace. This would give her some time to think of a new plan. "We'll have to start in the shallow end," she murmured thoughtfully.

"Uh-huh!" Ace bobbed his head, though ran a claw over his nose in embarrassment when he noticed PJ's impressment. It wasn't really that big of a deal... was it? He knew a lot of his species grew up in laboratories, his mother had originally been a pokemon like that, but the way PJ reacted... well, it was certainly funny. "Oh? Well, if you don't mind me asking, how'd you get to be a wild pokemon?" he asked, curious. "If.. if it's not too personal, I mean."
Ace gave a contemplative huff before nodding slowly. PJ raised two very good points, viruses such at the flu were killed off at 160 degrees-- and most fire-type's body temperature ran hotter than that, so his worry had been misplaced. "Well, uhm, just be careful, alright?" Ace finished lamely before he turned his attention back to the task at hand, he knew that voice was Brooke's, all he had to do now was locate her.

Having told the others that he would be back as he floated high into the air. It was nice not having to worry about being swept so far away from his friends and family. Drifloon's arms looked like strings and though he appeared like a balloon he never liked people pulling on his arms like they were strings. That was why most of his other Drifloon would remain much higher in the air. After being caught he listened to Simon's Pokedex and his entry. It was a myth that they would take children away because he had never met another Drifloon who liked having their arms tugged on. As he moved with the wind he managed to spin itself around in the sky.
With Drifloon gone Hawlucha and Spheal were left alone. Leaving the small house the pair started to walk down a path in no real direction. "Would you rather we walk along the river?" Hawlucha asked. "Thank you for your consideration. I can roll to keep up with you but if you don't mind the water would be best." Hawlucha nodded and flew straight up landing he motioned to the left, "It's just over there." Spheal smiled her thanks and started to roll towards the water with Hawlucha flying to keep up.
