He sets his jaw, trying not to freak out about the needle. He closes his eyes as he surpresses memories.
``I hate needles,´´ he stiffly says, ``But if it's 'necessary'....´´

"I'm afraid it is," she says. "Doing the procedure without it would be extremely painful. I'll do it as fast as possible, okay?"

``Fine. Just do it. She's going to need me,´´ he says, keeping his face turned away from the medic.

Lael injects the Novocain and pulls the needle out. "You seem very close to this girl. Do you know her?" she asks, as she waits for it to take effect.

The man flinches as she injects the needle into his skin. He also stiffles a groan.
He takes a few breaths before saying, ``Can anyone really know anyone, even their selves?´´
After a few seconds more, he says, ``No. She's just a girl that is trapped. I do not know her.´´

Lael shrugs. "A few years ago I would have said we could with complete certainty. Now, I don't know. Perhaps not. Maybe I'm wiser now than I was then." The Novocain having taken effect, she firmly grips his shoulder and with a pop moves it back into place.
"There. You'll probably be more prone to such injuries now, I'm afraid. And you'll need to be careful for a few weeks. Don't strain this shoulder. Other than that, you're good to go."

Without saying anything, the man in glasses stands up and starts to walk towards where Darian, Nathan and Lily are working on getting the girl out of the room. He knows that his shirt is now battered beyond repair and that he's going to have to buy a new one.
'Dammit. It's not easy to keep a wardrobe, even one as bare as mine.'

"I can't say for sure, but let's just work on getting you out of there for now." Darian's tone was comforting, but still strong enough to show the he would not hessitate to do whatever needed to be done to get the door open. He stepped away, allowing Lily to do her work.
The redhead stepped forward and raised her left hand slightly. It glowed blue, and her brown creased in concentration. Slowly, the frost dissappeared from the door. When it was gone, she reached her right hand forward and grabbed the door knob. Suddenly, she jerked it back. "Mother ********!" she shouted, "******** cold! Damn my right-handedness!" She reached her left hand out and turned the knob, it turned easily, and she pushed open the door.

Westley is able to make it up to the room just as Lily opens up the door. His first instinct is to go directly to the girl, but he holds himself back so that he doesn't appear rude. He braces himself, however, just in case his fear because true - just in case the others do not accept the girl for her cat-like nature.
--- The girl had once again been looking out the window, wondering about her parents. However, when she hears the door creak open, her ears perk up and she turns around. She doesn't know how to react aside being glad that the door is open.
---- A breeze blows in one of the decapitated rooms, far from the main area. Some snow comes in with it. Most of the snow stays in the room, but a good amount of flakes slide under the door into the warmer hallway. Once in the hallway, the flakes melt into a small pile of water. The water puddle stretches to the height of a person, filling out to a person's thickness.
After a few seconds, the water is no longer seen - there stands Aurora, the elementalist. She opens her light blue eyes, sadness in her eyes, as she bundles up in her sweater. She walks down the hallway to go to the dining room.
'At least it's not another blizzard or an avalanche,' she thinks.

Lael stands back so as not to get in the way, but close enough that she can see everything outside the room. "Is she okay?" she asks.

"Probably a little scared, but aside from that she seems fine," Darian replied.
"Yeah, she's scared," Nathan said, "But not for herself. She's sure she'll never see her parents again, not alive at least. And if they were out there when the storm hit I wouldn't be surprised if she's right."

Seeing that no one is moving, Westley makes his way through the people to get into the room.
``Sorry I was so long in coming,´´ he says to the girl, kneeling a bit away from her, ``I hurt my shoulder. ...how're you doing?´´
The girl turns her eyes to the man and, knowing that he said he was part feline, she mews, ``My parents are dead.´´
The tawny haired man holds out his arms to her, to comfort her. She crawls over to him, accepting the offer.
--- Aurora looks around the dining room, noticing that no one is in the room. She flips a baby carrot into her mouth so that she can think. 'I wonder who those two were. ...maybe Westley knew them?'
She crunches on the carrot before picking up the other elementalist's signature. She swallows it and starts towards where the signature is emitting from - the elementalist herself.

``Now how can you say that?´´ the tawny haired man asks semi-gently.
The girl says with certainty, ``Because I just know.´´
--- The water elementalist reaches the top of the stairs and finds everyone gathering around the doorway to a room.
She sighs, putting her hands in her pockets, and says, ``Nothing major coming this way, though I did find something...´´

Lael turns, hearing Aurora. "Oh, thank goodness," she says. "You had us scared. What was it that you found?"
