Lutz winced slightly as a shift in his stance brought a slight response of pain from his leg; the fox weaved his sword around in the air as he watched the last wolf pup flee; hearing footsteps behind him he turned to see Sheena aproaching him "I've had far worse...Lemon Gel? he tilted his head to the side curiously; a moment later his eyebrows raised in suprise as Sheena sent out what seemed to by a collection of Wind Mana Rather impressive; strange incantation though he was about to anwser the question that followed but was interupted by the apperance of Likaia and Repede; the grey watched quietly as they left the town before turning to Sheena "I'll check too; if it comes to the worst we can still flee via the other bridge"

As she made her descent down the mountain, Rose stopped in her tracks when she heard a cry for help. It didn't sound like Dart or any of the others she recognized. Part of her wanted to keep going, yet the thought that perhaps the person in distress could give her a clue as to the whereabouts of the other dragoons, and mainly as to where she was. Having lived in Endiness for so long, much longer than any human would ever live, she knew what was there. She knew for certain that the area before her was a place was one she was definitely unfamiliar with. Mentally sighing to herself, the dark dragoon began heading for the source of the cry.
As she arrived on the scene, what she had found that one that was in distress was none other than a dragon. A dragon that apparently could speak the human language, unlike the dragons back in Endiness. Though it would seem that she wasn't the only one who heard his cry as a man wearing a blue uniform had also arrived on the scene. The uniform wasn't one she recognized so there was no way of telling if he was an ally or an enemy. She could tell that the man was a bit uneasy towards the dragon. Of course for Rose, she had worked with dragons in the past yet she had fought against some of them as well.
She frowned as she slowly approached the dragon. In his condition, it didn't seem like he was going to attack. "What happened?" She asked. She couldn't use her dragoon form to aid him since she wasn't in battle.

Hiei raised an eyebrow as he noticed that the red-haired male was able notice him from such a distance. Not only that, he had given him the suggestion to head for Sybak to find out what he needed to know. "Hmph." Getting help from a human was the last thing he wanted. However, he was actually intrigued that this redhead had such great vision. After watching Zelos leave, the three-eyed demon's gaze shifted over to the remaining group. So it would seem they're intending to head over to Sybak as well. Perhaps he could use their help along the way. Jumping down from the tree limb, he began his approach towards them. "Your red-haired friend has impressive vision for a human." He said.

Mikhail looked up when a man in blue clothes appeared from around the corner. He looked nervous, but that was okay. Mikhail was a dragon after all. But....This wasn't the person he had smelled a few moments ago. Why hadn't he caught this scent, too?"Hurt?...I don't think so. I mean, yeah, my body hurts because of the rock, but....I don't feel anything permanent."He and the man were quickly joined by a woman. This was who he caught a scent of! It was a weird mix of human blood and magic of some kind. Humans couldn't use magic, so that was why he found it so interesting. Well, Zero could, but she was an Intoner. There was a difference. The black-haired woman approached him and asked what happened, which made Mikhail's eyes half-close in irritation."A wyvern attacked me. If I see that dumb dragon wannabe again, I'm going to tear it apart."His voice was suddenly very venomous, clearly giving away his dislike for wyverns. It wasn't his fault....It was a blood thing. A hate passed down from dragon to dragon.
That didn't mean he didn't hate them personally. They had been nothing but trouble when he and Zero were hunting the Intoners."...Can you help me move this thing? It's really uncomfortable underneath it."At least it wasn't cutting into him like the ivy at Three's shrine had, and he wasn't on his back. That meant he wouldn't flail like a turtle. But....He didn't know how these two would be able to help him. They were smaller than him, and even smaller compared to the rock was pinning him down. Why was he always in weird situations like this?

Roy quietly reassessed his take on wherever-this-was. Dragons and wyverns. Interesting. He nodded politely at the woman who'd arrived at nearly the same time he did. There would be time for introductions in a moment, he supposed. She seemed unfazed by the dragon — perhaps she was a native? Hard to say, but since she was comfortable, he felt more at ease.
"I think we can give you a hand with that," he said to the dragon. He took a few paces around the rock, studying it to ascertain its composition. "Or at least, I can do a chunk of the work. The rest would be easier with help, if you're willing, miss ... ?"
It would not be hard to transmute the boulder, Roy had determined. But doing so safely was a bit trickier. He couldn't remove the mass of the thing, but he could change how that mass was arranged ... Yes. That would work. Between the three of them, they'd be able to get him? — the dragon's voice sounded like a him — out.
"If you'll allow me?" he inquired, coming to stand near the dragon's shoulder. He'd want to give this particular piece of work a nudge away from the dragon's face.
He placed his palms together, and an arcane circle sprang into place at his feet in a flash of blue light. Something about it didn't seem quite right — it was still an alchemy circle, but the details were different than what he'd expected. Perhaps it was a side effect of wherever-this-was? He'd fiddle around with it later. Right now he had a transmutation to do. A touch of each palm to the boulder, and it shivered in a wave of blue light, and collapsed into an equally large pile of sand, most of it sliding with some momentum towards the dragon's lower body and feet.
Roy mulled for a moment, reconfiguring the transmutation mentally, then placed his hands together again, touching the edge of the sand. It shimmered, and part of the sand coalesced into a pair of roughly-made metal shovels. "Not the hardest of materials," he murmured, flicking one to hear it ring. "But you make do with what you have. At least there was some iron in that. I'm Roy Mustang," he introduced himself, as he offered the better-made of the two shovels to the armored young woman. "Nice to meet you both."
Ahhh, such odd people. All different. Of course, Mamizou was not one to judge at first glance, as she knew appearances could be deceiving. The corrupted areas became the topic of interest once more, this time targeted towards Raine. The flower she had with her was from one of these corrupted areas, how interesting. "Oh yes? Have you yet notice if there are any... abnormalities to it at present?"Mamizou asked her. The woman seemed smart enough, at least from what Mamizou could see.
Looking around at the library again, Mamizou wondered if it was anything like Suzunaan. It did not feel like it, and it was most likely filled with books full of information... Not to say that Suzunaan's weren't, just of a different sort. When Tear explained to Elize and Alvin what they knew of the shadow, Mamizou nodded along. "Yes, it's a very odd thing, no?"She added."I can't quite recall ever hearing of such an event... Or at least one similar."She giggled"Of course, that may just be my old memory failing me."

Things certainly were taking a turn for the exciting. There were two other girls fighting as well, both with different magics as well. "Oh my, how exciting~!"Kokoro cheered. She created two blue fans in her hands and spun in place, her skirt changing to green (joy). She then raised them up in the air and from their tips she sent out little orbs, that let out a firework like explosion."Enraptured Hyottoko Mask!" She cheered as she sent out the explosions. At the moment, Kokoro was focusing more on defeating the monsters than trying to evacuate the people, but Chani had that under control already.
Kratos Aurion, Azura Cantarella, and Chartreuse Verdantine The Traitor to Heaven, the Wolf of Azure Shadow, and the Electric Zombie ═════════════════════════════════════ Location: The World Tree > Open Field | Company: Rhone, Solaire, Seishin
Yuan caught the crystal in one hand then proceeded to stare dryly over it. "Riiiight..." was the last thing he droned out as Rhone and Solaire walked ahead. There was just something about his overall air of pretension and recklessness that greatly unnerved him, and he was glad to be finally rid of it for a while.
Kratos nodded and cracked a faint smile, uttering a simple, succinct "Stay safe, old friend," before turning and walking ahead himself to lead the way.
Azura cocked an eyebrow as she casually strode on beside Kratos, catching Rhone and Yuan's last little exchange by ear. I know that's a sensitive matter, but...man, I can't deny that was kinda cheesy, she thought to herself, What an eccentric fellow. He certainly has a flair for the dramatic.

As soon as the group passed the edge of the forest they found a person, a woman, not too far ahead. One familiar to none other than Azura. However, said person seemed to be in a spot of trouble. Big trouble. Her eyes widened as she found her fending off quite a cluster of monsters, certainly too much for one person to handle.
"Oh...oh, ya gotta be sh*ttin' me..." Azura muttered under her breath. Among the monsters, she recognized three Lightning Bugs, two Deathroaches, two Walkers, and worst of all, a deadly Landstrider.
The woman could be heard barking in the distance, "Back! Back, ya filthy bastards!" at the monsters, discharging powerful bolts of lightning from the end of her staff. It was enough to keep them stunned for a few moments, slowing down their advance on her, but she could not keep that up forever.
Kratos readied his shield and drew his sword. "There's no time to waste. Let's get started," he remarked before dashing off to back her up.
"I'm on it!" Azura replied, going on to brush the gems on the backs of her hands with her fingertips. This triggered her primary weapon, her clawed Ice Gauntlets, to materialize down her forearms, stopping just before her elbow. After which, she turned her glance toward Rhone, Solaire, and Seishin. "'Ey, quick word of advice! You don't wanna get too close to the small, squishy buggers. They emit electricity, but the yellow ones will try to cling to you and explode. As for the things that kinda look like fat scorpions, they spit acid that can hurt something fierce! Be careful!"
Not waiting for their response, she charged ahead into the fray and arrived by the victim's side at about the same time as Kratos (she was a fast one), knocking aside a Walker's heavy tail, which was about to be slammed upon her point first. "Oi, Char! We got'cher back!"
Chartreuse took a momentary breather, sticking the bottom end of her staff in the ground and leaning against it. "Oh, thank Gaia. I was about to run outta juice!"
Kratos got in front of the two and swiftly drew a circle around him with the tip of his sword before stabbing it into the ground before him. "Guardian Field!" A white glyph filled the circle and radiated with light-element energy. The same Walker tried to step into it only to find itself feeling like something was burning it as well as forcing it backward.
((Again, so so sorry for the wait. orz Figured I'd try to make up for it by finally throwing us some action. Sorry if it's too sudden, though? ))

Turning his glance to Krystal, Zaul blinked confusedly for a second before responding to her suggestion. "Er...Ah don' think that's th' right way o' puttin' it. If yer qualities can be likened t' th' Shadows', then ya would be poisoned by mana at this very moment. But if ya meant 'foreigner' in th' sense that these could be things leakin' in from another world...well...Ah can't deny that Ah don' fully understand the nature o' these Shadows, so th' poss'bility o' that sounds mighty high t' me fer now."
The Velocidragon that Krystal mounted tilted its head and blinked confusedly, unable to understand the language she tried to speak to it. Making a mental shrug to itself, it pushed the thought from its mind and proceeded forth.
Around the crowd of evacuated civilians, the escorting position circle went thus: the Tamer taking the front left, Zaul at the front right, Krystal at the middle left, Jade at the middle right, Soul at the back left, and Maka at the back right.

The trek to the Tower of Mana took about an hour and a half, including a rest stop made along the way. Thankfully, it was uneventful—the action had back at Hima was pretty much enough. Once they reached their destination, the crowd of civilians took the time to form groups among themselves. The women, children, and elderly were allowed to take refuge behind the walls of what remained of the tower, away from the pit where the rest of the tower collapsed. The adventurers and hunters resolved to set up camp along the outside, acting as a line of defense against monsters that dared to disturb them. A small party of hunters prepared to set out for the nearby forest to capture food for everyone.
Now dismounted, Zaul, Jade, and their company stood before the ruins, surveying the civilians going about their business.
Hands in his pockets, Jade gazed at the ruins with an amused smirk. "Pardon me, but I was under the impression that there was a tower here."
Zaul chuckled and replied, "Well Ah didn' 'xactly get ta say it was still standin' tall, now did I?"
"Might you know how it got destroyed?" he asked as he turned his attention to the gunman.
Zaul put a hand to his chin and furrowed his brow in thought. "Hmm...word from th' Heroes themselves was that it was th' doin o' some freak disaster prior t' th' worlds rejoinin'. Some magic tree grew outta control inta gigantic proportions, spreadin' its roots all sorts o' places at destructive speeds. 'Parently, they wrapped around n' had a crushin' grip on th' tower, then earthquakes got it implodin'. If ya look around hard 'nough inta th' pit, ya can see some o' th' gigantic roots among th' rubble."

Seishin followed Kratos and the others from the grotto, giving Yuan a goodbye yip as he did. As they walked along, the group came across a green-skinned woman surrounded by monsters. It seemed Azura knew her, and before she ran off to join Kratos on the frontlines, she gave them all advice. They were dangerous to approach physically. That left Seishin in an awkward position. He didn't attack physically, and without someone to tether to, he couldn't use spells. However, he noticed the black and green monster heading for him and whined as his ears went back. Backing away from the creature, Seishin instinctively tethered with Kratos before casting Photon Burst. It was an immediate cast, and he moved closer to Kratos as he changed forms. This was his first real battle. Not as exciting as he had hoped.

kratos should feel the tether quite obviously at this point, since I imagine it gives him a boost in either stamina or mana.

Lloyd walked further into the square of Iselia, waving to a few of the kids, including Paul, who waved to him excitedly. He noticed the mayor, but the man didn't look happy to see him. Lloyd was used to it by now. The mayor just didn't like him. He suddenly heard the sound of running feet and the two guards let out a shout."Huh--Whoa!!"He turned to see what was going on, only to be tackled to the ground by a familar white and teal-green mass. His face was suddenly attacked by the creature's licks."I'm happy to see you, too, Noishe...! St-Stop already!"Noishe got off of Lloyd, who had been pinned down by the protozoan's front paws, and he stood as he wiped his face. Ugh. Now he needed a shower desperately.

"Hey, now. We could have gotten paid for that," Alvin protested his conscription mildly, though the smile on his face indicated that he was mostly teasing. The smile faded quickly as he assessed what he knew of the situation, which wasn't nearly enough.
"Let me recap to make sure I've got this right. There are shadows out there, made of evil energy, and that energy is poisonous. Being exposed to mana fixes that. And this is a relatively new development?" He looked at Elize thoughtfully. "You're going to be very busy for a while, Princess. Sounds like a lot of people could use your talents."
And I'll have to be careful. To say that mana wasn't Alvin's strong suit was an understatement. He'd worry about it later, though. It didn't matter right this second.
Alvin didn't like walking into a job without having as many of the details in hand as possible. Okay, this wasn't exactly a job, but it wasn't like he'd leave Elize to fend on her own. He glanced over the rest of the group, settling on Tear as she seemed to know the most, or at least was the most willing to talk about it. Maybe the others had some ideas too, though. "Anything else we should know? Poisonous how? Obvious warning signs? How big do these things get?"

The onslaught of monsters didn't discourage Pascal at all; she'd seen worse during her previous adventures into Ephinea's and Fodra's Lastalia cores. She looked to her companion, Serenity looked like she was keeping up on her own but looked rather worn out compared to her. Best to keep close to Serenity. I don't want her to get pooped out. Why's Hu's group taking so long to get back? Another velocidragon fell from her Maelstrom attack, but her eyes caught the glimpse of another girl fighting. It was a girl in a fox mask fighting off monsters with some sort of unrecognizable burst arte. "Huh? When did she pop up?"
OOC: It's good to be back after a long hiatus~<3 Thought I show off some of Pascal's lack of peripheral vision while I'm at it. I'm glad things are picking up once again.
Was Likaia serious? Sheena couldn't just abandon these people, although she knew the dog was right. Maybe she had spent too much time with Lloyd. Before, she was able to leave behind a few people to save others. Sheena clenched her fists, conflicted. The two dogs ran off ahead, and Sheena looked at Lutz. "...Go on ahead. Take them to the ruins we met at. The citizens will be safe there. I'll catch up with any other survivors I find and I'm able to save. I don't know if those two can protect everyone one their own." Sheena ran off then, heading further into town to find any other survivors she could help.

He didn't get a chance to introduce himself. The blue-haired male suddenly spoke up, and then headed for the town exit with the girl and her pets. Daermod looked at the other male and shrugged. "Nice company you have here. Must be lively." Well, he had to get back to Chani and their new friend anyway. So, he took the others' lead and followed them.
Chani was getting tired. Where was Daermod? If he didn't come back soon, she was going to look for him. "Lightning!" A bolt of purple lightning fell and struck one of the monsters. "Damn it....I've never had to fight so many monsters before. Not sure I can hold out much longer."

That was certainly true. It didn't seem Hubert was one for conversation when there was something going on. Which was understandable. Gaius followed the three, Absol staying next to him. Gaius still wanted to know what this thing was. Euphemia seemed to know. He'd ask her later. The group left town, and he was relieved to see Serenity and Pascal were still up. Though, Serenity looked tired. He'd make sure to put her in with the citizens when they moved.
