Rex was again on the charge, racing up the stairway, though his steps were considerably slower than they had been before. WHY WERE THERE SO MANY STEPS TO CLIMB?!
He reared back, snapping at the air as the voice echoed in his mind again. He lashed out, as if he thought he could catch some invisible being only a short distance from his jaws. His jaws finding air, only served to fuel his anger and fury. Kingdoms, fragments? He did not know what it meant, nor did he care.

He was right. The Voice was desperate, and it offered all wealth and possibilities to stop him, but he kept moving. What did a figment care for all of this when everything was so easily destroyed? None of it was real. He wasn't real. Could it promise him that he could be whole and exist?
He doubted it.
And pressed on.

Lan was getting pretty s**t tired of stairs. Mostly as she was by herself and her friends had gone ahead.
She needed to learn to climb faster.

Rep laughed in absolute silence at this attempt. He had everything he wanted outside. His dream world was a world where Harrison was awake, he didn't want to be a king, he wanted Jordan and his ******** Harrison and that was it.
He didn't need subjects, he didn't need anything else, he was king enough in his guy's minds to last him a lifetime.
He didn't reflect on his choices, they'd all been terrible apart from the ones that had given him his guys.

She stopped, listening to the voice again. It was threatening her this time, trying to make her feel guilty. But she was no longer a Red. She was a Silver--and he'd already destroyed the silver kingdom. Even Red had to have fallen--their King was dead.
She had no kingdom to remember. The threat was empty. She kept moving forward.

The the voice returned, so did Lan's soundless laughter. She wasn't a fragment. She was herself. Brought here to save her friend. Her kingdom? Her kingdom was rotting under insanity, her homeland gone and replaced by a mockery of what they had once had.
She had no king. She had hope, but that would be resting on another, the only one she'd bow too.

As he moved, he looked past those climbing, and paused in step when he saw someone.
His red eyes flashed to look down at the step and at the red-head who had killed him. Who had betrayed him.
The rabbit was different now. His clothes were white, whole, plain and simple, with silver lining. His hair black, his eyes red.
Parting his lips, he mouthed something to him, eyes narrowing, before he turned and marched on.
He'd meet him at the top.

At least he can feel. Sinclair's hands made him feel better. And even his eyes.. Those.. beautiful eyes. His mouth quirks up into a small but worried smile. What is going to happen next? They've been walking so far... Why is it so long?
His body feels very heavy too. Something was making him tired.. maybe it was the lack of himself.. or maybe it was just that his body was beginning to give up on him.
He lets out a small sigh.. squeezing Sinclair's hand back. His hand is bigger in comparison.. and it's also holding very very tightly.

The echo of nothing, the chime of silence, the voice had vanished once more. Good riddance really. Lan glared up, as if daring the voice to strike if it had such great power. Yet nothing happened. The voice was just a voice, nothing more.

Grunting, Nuk hauled G up again, shaking his head, straining with the effort. But there couldn't be more than 25, 30 steps max. The door was in sight, and so was their family, Sera and Jing and Sammy, and Taima was right there, still holding G's hand.

The Voice spoke again, tired and worn but otherwise upset that he kept persisting. He was nothing but a gnat to it, to be swatted, and he saw no reason for him to continue. Why? Because he wasn't real?
What purpose was there to continue when he knew he wasn't real and had no future?
The only real reason was to continue only to go against the force that brought him here and to at least test his own will to see what he could do as a figment. Pushing was all he could do.

Sinclair stood on the step beside Zephyros and pulled him down for another kiss -- brief, but hopefully enough to get the frown off of his face. It was easier to smile, after that. This was going to be a long, painful climb, and he might as well do whatever he could to make it more bearable for the both of them.

He summoned his claws and dropped into a half lope, it was comfortable to his Rep, throwing his entire body strength into clearing the steps.
He caught sight of Melvin, and in his dark furious spiral of despair, where murdering EVERYTHING in this world was all that mattered.
He smiled.
He'd kill him again, he'd kill them all a ******** million times. After Harrison, nothing mattered.

Candace didn't want to be in a world with no Harrison. He understood her, he didn't judge her, he cared about her. They didn't get much time together these days but she knew, she knew when they finally could hang out with just the two of them again it would be like there'd never been any time apart. ...If he didn't remember and hate her for what had happened here.
