The pain was overwhelming. The kite twisted, and Leopar's Eye's hands felt as though white-hot irons had suddenly been laid across them. No matter what he did, it was not enough. No matter how hard he fought, how much he pushed, it was still just... never enough.

Could anything kill this woman? Hell, could anything even hurt her?

The blade had cut through skin and muscle, and he could feel it grinding against the bones of his hand. Bones that were stronger from the power he was able to absorb from his homeland. He knew, though, that he didn't have much time. It wouldn't be long before she was able to cut him down, and he hadn't made so much as a dent in her defenses. Even when he focused the heat of his powers to cauterize the wounds, the kite simply cut through all over again.

“Get...”

He needed to do something drastic. Something stupid.

“Out..”

He knew just the thing.

“Of...”

Kite still in his grip, pain knotting his stomach and beading his forehead with sweat, Suki pulled with all of his strength in an attempt to actually leap over Laurelite's sharp defensive line. He pulled in every bit of strength he could muster, every bit of energy he could grab, until his body looked like a human torch, his eyes blazing the brightest of it all. He pushed forward, and he thought of Helios.

Of the home he had rediscovered. The family he had been missing for centuries.

He thought of the loneliness he had felt all of his life, even when Perry Westerman had opened his home to Itsuki Hara. Of the Christmas morning he had spent listening to Allie open her presents, the kind exchange between father and daughter the likes of which he had never known even with his own blood relatives.

Itsuki Hara had everything to lose now, and he spared no ounce of his strength for that one final, desperate push.

ELYSION!

"Nn..." He grunted, wincing as her knee nailed his inner thigh, a bit too close to parts that he considered far too important to lose in an encounter with a senshi. His first... No, second now. The voice had been right. They did need to take this place back from them. They were all <******** crazy.

"Why... Do you?" He growled back as their roll came to a stop right in the middle of something, eyes quickly assessing the situation before acting on impulse. Two senshi. One nega... Unfair fight? Check. Action needed? Double check. Action taken?

A brief pause was made in his struggle against the Senshi now atop him, strength gathering in his arms as he shifted before lifting her in order to give her a tossing shove into the raven-haired senshi whose name he did not know.

Check.

For his part, Sailor Neso used the distraction of the cat to get to his feet and chase after the spinning ball that contained Princess Chronos. He cared about the other senshi, but his princess came first. When she rolled to a stop, Neso flattened his arms on the ball, giving it a hug. "Princess, I'm sorry if you feel sick. It was the only way I could think of to get you away from them."

He stepped back from the ball, turning outward with arms outstretched as if to protect her. "What should I do?" he asked. "Where is the Pink Princess? Where is the girl in white robes?" Neso was not an answer guy. He was someone who did whatever he was told.

Now he just needed an order.

Rip her in half? Scylla eyed her superior, keeping her voice low. "Teleportation, Ares?" The weaker ones had shown talent at it, though rarely, and Linarite had seemed fairly adept when they had fought that night. Still... it was test time. "If you can get to Birhan, Ares," she told the other woman, "I may be needing her services soon." If only they knew for sure.

Scylla had never pushed herself as an Eternal. She had never tested just how much strength her still-new power had given her. Then again, she'd never fought a General, or fought a General-Queen, and there had never been this messy kind of combat before. This was war. This was what the Senshi of the Kraken had been born for. It pulsed in her ears, singing to her, frightening her.

And she obeyed it, stretching out her arms and calling up her power. Depending, once again, on the senshi of smoke to watch her back. "Scylla's hunger!" she snarled, and around General-Queen Laurelite and the Leopard, the Kraken stretched his hungry, seeking limbs, the ground shaking around the arms as they stretched into the sky, and then reached for Laurelite, itching to rend their prey.

"I'd probably be more of a burden on you." He shook his head at her offer to take him with her. "I mean i'm not sure i can do more than hobble at the moment." He laughed darkly as he wiggled his leg, regretting it as he winced in pain.

"Just ... if you go come back okay?" He didn't want her getting mixed in something and never coming back. It wasn't long after saying that when she darted off to save some chibi-senshi from ...

"s**t." Pulling himself to his feet he scooped up the little quail and tucked him carefully into the fabric around his waist (ignoring the squeaks of protest of course) and ran as best he could toward his partner.

His leg blazed in pain for a bit before his mind finally gave up on it. He could feel the wet slick of what he expected was blood soaking into his sandals and a stumble over a hunk of grass jarred him to a stop. <******** ...." Digging out a tinder stick he lit it from the once again bright lantern. "Dancing Lights!" He couldn't control the orbs this time and sent them flying in the direction of Denebola, Raite and anyone in the general area

((It's a little late but anyone fighting near the two can get hit/ignore/see the orbs if they wish. They'll sting more than burn if only one hits you))

Alkaid had not hit in a good place. Definitely not a good place. Alkaid would have felt Euterpe's weight disappearing from her body but some sort of.. manly crying noise in the background.

Manly crying. He had to emphasize, manly.

Because she hit him where it hurt most. Her closed eyes would have restricted her form the doubled over senshi, his legs bent. Well.. he wasn't as obvious enough as to hold a hand towards her lower groin but he sure wished he could have.

It hurt like a b***h. Probably because it had been a female who kicked him---He laid on the ground looking up at the sky. If he tried really really really hard, he could ignore that pain--- Nope. Nope. He tried. He failed.

'Get her, cat!' Chloe didnt need to be told more than once... she kept grip as tight as her little jaws could, tasting the enemies blood (ew) in her mouth the while.

Attempt as she did, Uphane was stronger when it came to strength. Chloe was successfully flung off the nega, trying to take some flesh with it while she was.

Chloe had the strange urge to yell 'DUCK', why ducks were relivent she had no idea, but she figured orion would not be able to even if he wanted to. So she instead just fired a star bolt at the arm holding Orion.

Scheelite had found himself in and out of consciousness far more than he ever wanted in the span of...god how long had this battle been going?

It was during one very good moment of consciousness that he had figured out he could -still- get around if he really wanted to. His guitar was big and sturdy enough to act as a rather makeshift crutch. It was just hauling himself to his feet in the first place that was difficult. Once up (and up was difficult AND painful to manage), he could hobble around by putting nearly all his weight on his good foot and dragged himself along by the guitar.

BRILLIANT!

Fighting was difficult though, so he had decided to do the next best thing. He was a captain afterall, so why not stand back and give some orders? This made him rather antsy but for the moment it was the best he could manage.

He barely heard what Lyra said to him over the din of the battle raging around them, but the punch knocked him clear off his feet and back into the realm of unconsciousness once more.

~~~~~
The next time Scheelite awoke, the first thing that met him was the face of a fellow Negaverser right in his face. The blonde muttered his best at some encouraging words and nudged the other officer to get to his feet.
He didn't.
Scheelite nudged again. Still no response.
Captain Scheelite sat himself up to bark an order at the other officer, only to suddenly realize with great horror that the one who had fallen beside him had no lower half. Well...he did. It just happened to be several feet away from the upper half of his body. Hands flew up to cover his mouth in horror as he scooted the hell away from the broken soldier. Oh GOD he..he thought he knew this one. A newbie, right? And Scheelite had dragged him out to have a little jumping lesson and some fun in the cool night air.
Oh. god.
He found himself stuck staring at the body, acid eyes staring hard into the dead eyes of a fellow Negaverser. Family. Scheelite felt sick. Scheelite felt scared as hell.
Scheelite also felt the need to kill the next Senshi b*****d that got anywhere near him.
Forcing back bile, the blonde pulled himself to his feet (foot, really) once more and started to pull himself away from the body. He didn't get very far before some brilliant Senshi decided to attack the clearly wounded captain.
Big mistake.
As she flew through the air towards him, Scheelite shifted all his weight towards his good leg and swung his guitar at his nameless Senshi attacker. The heavy instrument caught her mid leap and sent her careening towards the ground.
"How DARE you!"
He was screaming now, hobbling closer and beating the prone body below him at every chance he got.
"I THOUGHT some of you could understand! Could SEE and get that WE will win, WE are the correct side. I THOUGHT some of you had promise, could fix your actions and join who is clearly right!"
Blow after blow from the guitar rained down on the stunned Senshi. She had thought he'd be an easy target, but she had never factored in just what kind of fragile mental state some of the Negaverse officers were in. This was their defining moment. Do or die. The corruption surged through their veins and this was perhaps their ONLY chance to make sure that their side, their power won out.
Scheelite was tired, horribly injured, and feeling very much like he was going to die, but if he was going out then at least one god damn Senshi was going with him.
Eventually the Senshi below him stopped screaming, stopped struggling, stopped moving and the captain relented. He pulled the instrument back, now covered in blood, to be used as a crutch once more. But just to be sure this one was through, he reached down and plucked out her starseed, before throwing it on the ground and crushing it under a heel.
Soaked in blood, some his own and more still that of the now dead defender of the moon, Captain Scheelite dragged himself off to offer all the assistance he could to the Dark Kingdom. He was shaking, body threatening to give out any moment both from pain and the absolute horror of what he was both witnessing AND doing, but he was still determined.
Quail's Eye had left the side of Arsinoe once more. In fact, the tiny quail had seemingly completely left the battlefield.
There was, however, a small boy in an elaborate outfit in similar colors to take it's place.
"Get out of here, you do not belong and only death awaits you."
He did not know if he could actually kill another, but if it came down to it he'd find the strength to carry out his threat. This was his long lost home, and he was not losing it so soon after rediscovering it.
A random Negaverser found themselves suddenly tossed aside by a huge gust of wind, the boy giving them a sad but determined look before moving on.
((if anyone wants to be caught up in Quail's wind blast feel free, or if anyone wants to have witnessed Schee's brutality go for it. ))
"Becuase you KILL people." She snapped furious. "People like you took my..." She had to stop, if she said she had a missing relative then they could track back to her, or at least narrow the field.
"YOU TOOK MY FRIEND!!!" That would do...well except for the point where it was punctuated by being tossed at her friend Corvus
Familiar words reached out to her ears.
"I'm here!"
Finally! Cora let out a relieved sigh and with this new hope she hurried towards that familiar voice. She was so happy! She would find Hypnos, hug her and take her out from the battlefield to somewhere calmer place where would not be chaos.
"Hypnos!" she let out a gleeful yell. Unfortunately, Ares's attack was flewn in her way and she ran straight in the smoke cloud. Losing almost all sight and feeling the smoke intruding in her lungs, she had to stop and kneel on ground, couching uncontrollably.
((I have to get in bed now. You have a permission to move Cora in any way you like (drag her along, attack her, things like that). Just don't kill her, okay?))
On one side of Laurelite, a mass of writhing tentacles was descending towards her -- on the other, Leopard's eye had set himself completely ablaze. He was leaning into her kite with all his might, the flames of his rage assauling her hand and the arm attached to it. The tentacles nearby raced towards her, intent on wrapping around her form. And through all of this, the General-Queen was terrifyingly calm. She glanced first at the enraged guardian, and then at the arms of the Kraken heading her way, and then said ten simple words:
"I think I'll let this problem take care of itself."
There was a fizzling pop!, and the hazy scent of ozone would catch the attention of Leopard's Eye -- there was suddenly a void of air where the General-Queen once was. She had teleported away. And the space she used to be occupying was about to be filled with tentacles that were headed straight in his direction.
The hand at her throat only made her dig harder at Wolframite's heart. No way could he choke her before she dug deep enough to rip it out of his chest. But it seemed the Negaverse Captain had a similar idea.
Every muscle in Birhan's body locked up as the hand slid into her chest. When Wolframite squeezed, pain flooded her body, the likes of which she'd never felt before. Super Gunn's near-bone-breaking punches? Wolframite's knives? Broken bones? All had nothing on this.
A terrible scream ripped through the air. Birhan's voice seemed to be the only thing that still worked, even as the same lungs refused to draw more breath. Worse than being winded, she gasped and gasped but nothing happened.
Through this, she stared down at the small male beneath her. Her eyes couldn't escape the gaze of his own, of that unnatural black eye that was revealed. Something in there... something in there was inhuman. In a way beyond the usual Negaverse agent, running around and killing other humans for sometimes just the hell of it. Birhan had faced down humans, Negaverse agents and youma alike - but she'd never seen something so literally monstrous in a person before. Truly, Birhan thought she was staring her death in the face.
For a brief moment the pain lessened, before returning with vengeance. Far, far too late Birhan realised what was happening. Only this time the consequence of her rashness wasn't just a knife to her throat - this would be the end of everything that she was. If her starseed was taken, and drained or destroyed, there would be no 'next life' again. No more Birhan Isat, no more Ari Knight, nothing.
Either this realisation gave her greater strength, or she was simply becoming more accostomed to the terrible feeling of having someone squeeze her very soul, but Birhan finally forced herself to move. It hurt. It was slow. But the fiery claws that had yet to disappear reached towards the arm that shoved from her chest. And dug. In.
With every wave of pain that struck her, with every gasp that failed to draw breath, Birhan dug those claws a little deeper every time into Wolframite's arm.
Just as she was about to attempt to attack Corvus again... she felt another of those burning ink attacks hit her, across her shoulder this time. Growling out in pain... she was looking at her odds here once again, two on one? Noottt cool...
Though jsut as the thought crossed her mind? Another senshi was flung into Corvus. Fayalite stared... dumstruck at Corvus, Mu Cephei, and Eri for a moment. Pausing more at Eri... both still boiling in rage from her burns (THAT HURT BTW), and from the stupid pose he just struck.
Lifting herself back to her feet, quickly she looked to her left, towards where the assistance had arrived. Another nega whom she knew not the name of stood there, to which Fayalite gave a nod of thanks. Fayalite did not like the word... rarely gave it unless she trusted you, so a nod would work. "Want to help take out the trash?" She asked the nega
Before she made a point to step on Corvus... and launch herself at Eri, swinging her pole.
Uranophane thought the teeth were bad. The strange star-bolt was a thousand times worse, and did its job to free Orion from her grip. With a bellow of pain that was nothing short of blood-curdling, the Captain was sent staggering backwards and clutching her arm, which was twitching and spasming from the energy surge that had gone through it -- which left just enough time to make an escape... or get a hit in on her.
Then, she was gone.
It infuriated him to feel so close and yet never have been within real reach of her, to know that he had never had a chance at all of eliminating the greatest threat that they seemed to face upon the field. The flames subsided only slightly, his eyes and hair still ablaze as his body suddenly collided with Scylla's tentacles. For a moment, he was certain that they were going to crush him, but the angry young man found himself being plucked from the ground in a firm but not lethal grip.
He looked up and found Scylla's eyes.
“I need to get to Helios! Can you find her?!”
