"Yeah, but you'd get him back anyway just setting me free again. Besides, that's kind of our thing. Mortals praise and grant us offerings and we give or make good things happen in return." Van said glancing away from Mala momentarily. He really wished she'd stop smiling like that. It was making him feel weird.

Mala simply shrugged. "I'll come up with a reward if I really need one, I guess. Still, I'm content with just getting you two sepparated and surviving the process."

Van perked up at this. "'Surviving the process'? Is there a risk to what you have in mind, because this is the first I'm hearing of this."

"Sometimes priests die in this sort of thing. Mostly the weaker ones, and I'm pretty sure I'm not all too weak in that regard, but don't be surprised if I lose plenty of life-force because of it." Mala said with an easy shrug, seeming oddly calm despite knowing the possibility of her dying. "Plus, have you noticed how much we tend to get into danger? We're practically doom-magnets."

Van didn't like the idea of someone so calm about the chance of dying in something like this, but he didn't show it. "What about Riley? If you kick the bucket and it works, the kid's gonna be left by himself."

I hate to admit it, but I'm pretty sure he won't need me around forever. Especially since I baby him like there's no tomorrow." Mala said with an amused look, somehow not seeming all too cheerful about the fact that she was aware that she might be hindering Riley with how much she took care of him. "Plus, I'll find a way to get back out here, even if I end up as an ectoplasmic nagging hag of pure annoyance +5." she then joked.

Mikhael gave an exasperated chuckle as the female spoke. His face didn't change, but he spoke, paanting as he did so. He still remained at the ready to strike. "Well... you're good..." he gave a slight smile.
