Ophiuchus raised an eyebrow. He had never heard silence from the God of War. In Ophi's experience, that was ominous. Ares was planning something... or there was a slim off chance that he truly did not know what to say.

"Ares," the healer prodded, in a gentler voice. "Ares, you need to go. You're trespassing on private property."

As soon as Ares disappeared, Arielle could feel herself growing very weary. She moved behind her desk and sat down in her chair, a wave of her hand fixing the books that had fallen before she'd entered the room.

Looking at Ophiuchus, she spoke in a rather defeated voice. "I apologize for that. I wasn't expecting such a thing--especially not from Evermore. She's usually such a nice girl. Would you like to sit?" She still needed some information on Lin.

And to give Caroline a room. Arielle debated about putting Caroline in Evermore's room, if only as a sort of guard, but decided against it. She didn't want Caroline to accidentally become invovled in whatever was happening that had even interested the God of War. Glancing at a list that had magically sorted itself, she wrote down the first name and room she saw, knowing it was careless but not having much left in her to give more thought.

Besides, Aurora Bleu had always been a quiet, level-headed girl. It probably would be fine if she placed Caroline into Aurora's room, would it not? Signing the paper, she sealed it and it disappeared. It would reappear in Caroline's hand.

Ever had just finished her burger and fries, a treat they sometimes had at Bai Ching. When she stretched afterward, though, she felt a small tug at her back and waist that caught her by surprise. But then she quickly remembered what was most likely the cause of it. Yes, she was a God, but she was a 2nd generation God that had been on Earth for a couple years. She was susceptible to small aches and pains and scratches. And right now, that was surprisingly okay with her. It was a nice reminder, despite how it had ended.

Ever was just about to stand up when she heard someone come over to her and ask if she could sit down. Ever felt terrible. It was that girl from the Familiars class, and she wanted to talk with her, but she had to be at the headmistress's office soon. She wanted to be early this time, show any kind of positive behavior that she could at the moment.

She smiled at the girl and nodded. "Sure, but I hate to say that I'm leaving. I have a meeting with the headmistress that's going to start soon and I want to be early. You know, make a good impression. I'm really sorry."

She started to stand up and then got a thought. "You know, I'm meditating with a friend tomorrow morning. I find that it really helps me with studies. If you want, you're more than welcome to join us. We'll be on the third floor by the banister. I hope we'll see you then. It was nice to meet you. I'm Ever."

She held out her hand.

Ophiuchus sat down silently, across from Arielle's desk. "Thank you," he said softly. He had completely forgotten about the other girl, the dog-demon one, and didn't realize she was still in the room.

Now that Ares had left, Ophi felt calmer. He couldn't stand those who used people. He especially hated those who would ever do anything to hurt women or children, or the poor and powerless.

Ever smiled brightly and shook Aurora's hand and then pet her familiar. "Awesome! We'll look forward to seeing you."

Ever turned to take her tray back when she thought of something and turned back. She rubbed the back of her head in slight nervousness.

"Um, I hope this is alright to ask you this, but if it's not, just tell me and I'll completely understand."

She gestured to Aurora's cat. "Um, you got him today, right? How did that work? Did you just feel a connection with him? Did you pick him out? Was it mutual? Or basically, just jump in and hope for the best?"

Aurora shook her head. "It is an understandable question. Yes, I met Altan today. I don't know if it works the same for all familiars, but Altan is a Sphinx. When I saw him, I was quite entranced. I petted him, and it seemed to be a sudden, mutual connection." She held out her wrist, the one with Altan's ankh. "He marked me as his."

Altan purred in agreemen, and he smiled--in his own, feline way--at Evermore. Reaching out with his mind, he spoke to the girl. Do not worry. It is not a predictable thing, and forcing it is not a good idea.
