((Shizuru, Felecia, Isabelle, and the nameless investigator.

Feel free to suggest a name for the investigator))

"Yes, I'm fine," the investigator smiled as he touched his head. Mostly fine anyway. His head still hurt a little. He led the way toward the town hall.

Meanwhile the skeleton that Shane had knocked was tampering with its legs trying to figure out how to reattach itself...which wouldn't happen. It was pretty much useless. At some point, it would just abandon its lower half and grab the spear and crawl along to wherever.

Contrary to the city walls, the inner area of the town was pretty peace besides the smoke spreading from the fire. As they walked along, they came upon Isabelle.

"Young lady, it's not safe right now. You should go home or come along with us to the town hall," the investigator said, despite the creepy feeling that Isabelle gave off.

((South Gate))

Captain Adam narrowed his eyes. "Well sh*t." He had attacked the skeleton first. The damn thing was coming up behind him and the rest of the troops. Even if it wasn't a threat, they didn't have time to just wait and see. It was a freaking battlefield. "Yes, I guess I did. But even after I left it, it attacked me." And it had. That was why Adam had a cut on his face. It would have been worse if he hadn't dodged the hit.

((By the way, I am trying to get Shane, Aidan, Haucon, Lyris group to the East Gate))

Isabelle The Barbers Daughter
It's him!!!

Isabelle turned to the Investigator and immediately recognizing who he was, though she couldn't take him down with others around, that just wasn't her style...
"Oh thank the heavens someone arrived, I got lost in this smoke and couldn't find my way back... " She wept out with a distressed aura. Running over to the investigator Isabelle stopped in front of him with the beginnings of tears in the corner of her eyes.
"Please, can we hurry from here? It's starting to give me the creeps... There was skeletons a little while ago, Do you know what's happening?" Isabelle hung here head as she spoke, she was looking forwards to ripping this man to shreds as slowly as his heart would keep him breathing.

((Mal, Giyari is laughing because his "evil tyrant" character in Burst Legends is named Arik. If you have time, you should join as a rebel, so we can crush Arik...haha.

So, the question now is...should the investigator be named Arich or Arik?

Haucon, Aidan, Shane, Lyris to the East Gate! Kira, Ian at the East Gate))

The skeleton skipped its way and twirled, switching direction at the cemetery, to lead those following it to the East Gate, where Kira and the troops were in uproar over how to deal with the giant orc that had successfully avoided the
fireball.

"No!" Kira could audibly be heard yelling. "All magic users launch at that big one! Everyone else hold down the rest of the enemy. We can't let them in!" Aidan could probably help out in the situation with her magic. The others could probably help in other ways. Who knows? Maybe Lyris's sharp shooting skills could help. ...and maybe the skeleton would help, but it had to get out of the city walls first... and freak out Kira, who absolutely was scared of skeletons.

((Alright, I probably won't be posting much, if at all, in this roleplay for the next weeks due to exams.))

((Posting now. I feel directly responsible for the sludge-like continuation of the RP >_>))

As Lyris followed the group, trying to catch the eye of the female with them, they had reached the East Gate, which was being assaulted by a giant orc. "Mother----" he started as he heard the Magic division leader shouting to "Launch at that big one". Lyris immediately pulled out his revolver and spun it to bring it up to point. "Haha... they don't call me Deadeye for nothing." he muttered with a slight grin as he aimed for the giant's head. He pulled the trigger, but the beast moved before he had finished the motion, and the bullet ended up hitting its shoulder. "Lari'thar!" he cursed in the elven tongue as the orc turned to face Lyris, who was standing stalwartly with his gun pointed at it, remaining calm. "Ah well, a minor setback..." he mused as he aimed again. He pulled the trigger and...
*c***k!*
The dreaded sound of an empty chamber caused Lyris' eyes to widen in fear. "Dammit, how could I have forgotten to reload it?" he cursed himself for being so stupid as the orc flung a small boulder his way. Lyris managed to jump out of the way before any fatal damage was done, but it crashed into his right leg with a resounding crack that left Lyris fighting back tears of pain as blood leaked down his pant leg.

Aidan Vale The Apothecary

They arrived at the gate to find it under an unpleasant amount of attention. Aidan furrowed her eyebrows, using quick, light steps to propel herself closer to the front lines. Studying her foe, the apothecary was brought to attention by the call to all present magic users. The young elf raised one hand and as it rose, rocks and clusters of compressed dirt rose with it. She waited patiently for her shot, compressing her would-be bullets in the lack of activity. Her elongated ears twitched slightly at the sound of Lyris' gun dry-firing from behind her. A few short seconds passed, but soon enough the diminutive female was rewarded with a clean shot. Flicking a skeletal finger in the direction of the orc, Aidan sent her magic-powered ammunition soaring at reckless speeds toward her target, just as it turned to confront the sharpshooter. Due to her distance from the attacker, and the angle at which she sent the projectiles flying, Aidan's makeshift shots gained a fair amount of momentum before making successful contact with the orc's fierce eyes and face. Aidan was preparing for another barrage when a word of her native tongue registered in her mind. As she turned to identify the source, she saw the orc's counterattack and followed the boulder until it met the intended target. Her deep-green eyes easily found the source of the crude expression. Gaze finally falling upon Lyris, the elf watched him as he danced away from serious injury. At the ominous crack his leg gave, Aidan flinched and unintentionally took several steps toward him, her instinct as a healer coming into play.

[[Again, I apologize for taking so long to respond. A combination of writer's block and yet another family emergency has had my attention pretty much monopolized. xD ]]

Shane was lagging behind the others when he heard the sounds of a fight. Drawing his sword and sprinting to the gate, he had just barely dodged a boulder that seemed to have been thrown by a giant orc. "Mother of hellfire..." he whispered in awe. Shane shook his head and noticed the female elf walking over to Lyris, who appeared to be laying on the ground. Shane's eyes widened in shock as he noticed the wetness in Lyris' pant leg that he associated with fresh blood. Dropping his broadsword, Shane rushed over to Lyris, unfolding a strip of cloth he had been carrying and pressing it to Lyris' wound, causing him to howl in pain.

Stars flashed before Lyris' eyes after the boulder cracked his leg. Even turning his head was enough to make him dizzy for several seconds. He was laying his head on its side when he saw the female elf walking over to him, and Shane had just arrived, sans sword, and pressing a cloth to his leg. The cloth helped staunch the bleeding a little, but ultimately it put him in more pain than ever as his leg seared from the pressure. "Arrgh. Dammit, Shane!" he yelled in pain as the bartender kept the pressure. After several seconds of continued pressure, however, Lyris became too dizzy and weak to speak coherent Common, and started talking in the Elven tongue. "This is it. I'm done. Too much blood loss, not gonna make it. Girl elf, never told her..." he managed to speak out in Elvish before falling unconscious.

Ian the Archer
BOOYAA!

Ian watched as the reinforcements tried to kill the beast, missing by mere inches each time. He could use the distraction though. Leaping up to the pole that he had swung down from only minutes ago, he scrambled back to the top of the tower. Finding some archers still wasting their arrows from the top, he ordered them further down. ”Find another area closer to the enemy. You can do more damage from there.” Once they were out of sight, he did what he normally didn't. Ian took off his hood and goggles. At this height, no one would be able to see him clearly, and it improved his vision, accuracy and reduced the glare. Lifting the heavy bow from his back, he started chanting in his natural demon language, weaving spells for accuracy, damage and speed. A soft red glow settled into the bow and arrow, distinctly noticeable from the ground in the split second before he let it loose at the ork.

Thanks to the distractions provided by Lyris and Aiden, it hadn't seen him prepare his spells. Even though this had played out so favorably, the ork still managed to spot the arrow coming, not that it would help it. It roared in fury, cutting out half way through, a single glowing arrow protruding from it's open mouth, buried deep into it's throat, through it's lungs and into it's heart. Despite the seemingly fatal injury, the ork managed to wobble forwards a few more steps only to have a second glowing arrow appear next to the first. As it gurgled as blood dribbled over the edge of it's lips, dripping on the ground in front of it the entire battlefield grew silent, each side in disbelief over what had happened. A third arrow appeared in a gush of blood out of it's eye, bringing it to it's knees. Kira finally breaking the still ground, stepped forward, sword in hand and stabbed into the monster's chest. With a final gurgle of blood, it tumbled forwards with a deafeningly loud thud for such a large battlefield.

From up on the tower Ian smiled. It had been a long time since he had been able to kill something so dangerous. There wasn't a rush like it for him. Laughing lightly he slipped his goggles back on before lifting his hood back into position to hide his ears. That was something that he didn't need found out yet. Some day this was turning out to be...

((I'll leave the situation on the battlefield for Scythe to decide on. What is the enemy army going to do now? Though if you don't want me to use Kira to kill it, I can change that bit easily.))

Aidan Vale The Apothecary

Aidan's footsteps were light and lithe, and she reached her half-kinsman in a matter of seconds. She arrived just seconds behind the bartender, and knelt quietly down beside the injured demon hunter. Her knowing eyes took in the injury as Shane slowed the flow of blood. She furrowed her soft brows, expression growing concerned. Looking into Lyris' face, she saw the color slowly begin to drain from beneath his skin. She looked back to his injury, but his Elvish words caught her attention once again. Her dark eyes moved back to his face, just as he slipped into unconciousness,
"You fool.." she spoke softly to him in their native tongue, lips carefully forming the delicate words. Counting on the bartender to maintain pressure, Aidan slipped her hand into the pouch that was tied to her belt and felt around until she found what she was searching for. Pulling out a paper envelope filled with a fine powder, Aidan reached for his face before opening his mouth and depositing the powder within. Looking to Shane, she spoke in common, saying "Can you slow the bleeding any more? I know nothing of treating fresh wounds, but the powder should help to restore him," she looked back to Lyris' injury and finished, "Unless, of course, he bleeds out before it can take effect." Aidan's head turned sharply at the sound of the vast creature falling, and blinked several times, a little surprised that she had missed the events that led to it's death.

[[Just so I'm not beating an already dead horse, are you planning on Lyris' death? xD]]

PostPosted: Sun May 02, 2010 3:48 pm

((Not today O_o Just a serious injury that should put him out of commission for a day or two xD))

Shane furrowed his brow at Lyris' odd speaking and the fact that the other elf could understand him. He was relieved, however, at her help, and looked at her when she spoke. "Yeah, I can try, but I'm going to need two small wooden planks to make a splint." he replied, keeping a firm hold on Lyris' leg with the cloth. "Dammit Lyris, if I lose you..." he said softly, but shook the thought out of his head. He needed to stay focused, or Lyris would surely die. "Hurry! Have someone get the splintwood!" he said, a little irritated, but that was just his concern for his longtime friend.

Electric Kool-Aid

PostPosted: Mon May 03, 2010 3:03 pm

Haucon felt mostly impotent as they arrived at the gate and were greeted by the large orc and all its fury. Having not expected to do combat today he had neglected to bring any of his weapons and therefore found only the piece of charred wood he'd been holding as a club and a small dagger in his boot which when compared to the orcs hand looks rather like a toothpick. He did his best to stay out of the way as the magic users gathered and he took it to be his personal duty to guard the mages as they cast their spells. He patrolled the area in front of them hoping to keep the distance between them and the orc constant.

When Aidan went to Lyris to heal him he naturally followed them and kept and eye on the orc so they might be able to heal the broken leg. He heard someone demand a splint, tapped Aidan's shoulder and said "I'm on it!" before dashing off to scrounge some wood. Thankfully due to the fire earlier that day there was plenty of broken planks about and finding two smallish ones of about the same size he ran back to Aidan and the others carrying them. He deposited them beside the small elf woman and stood back to give them space to work. "Let me know if you need anything." he said quietly, well aware that her shop was empty of herbs and she might need fresh ones from his stores in the stables or even the woods.
((whooboy. Finals week.))
PostPosted: Tue May 04, 2010 8:05 am

Shane kept the pressure on Lyris' leg, but it would do no good unless someone got the wood for a splint. Shane watched worriedly as more blood leaked out than he could hold in, and was relieved when the other man who was with them appeared. Shane's expression changed from relief to frustration as the man left, and back to relief as he returned with wood. "Ahh, thanks, sir." he said gratefully as he set to work making a splint for Lyris' leg. He placed a plank on either side of his leg, and tied it tight enough to stop blood flow with the cloth he was using earlier. "That should hold, but only temporarily. If we're gonna have any permanent effects, we'll need to either wait and see if your powder works," he said to the elf, "or we'll need some healing herbs. Personally, I would go for the herbs. No offense to you or your profession, but I just feel more secure with Lyris' life if he had some... well, physical results." he finished awkwardly. He had said it. He didn't trust magic very much, and he had a slight suspicion that the powder was run with magic. He shook the thoughts out of his head. He needed to focus on keeping Lyris alive, lest he be responsible for his best friend's death. "Hang in there, Lyris." he said quietly.

((That is fine, and we'll label the investigator Arich if he lives that long.))

The orc had destroyed the gate somehow, leaving the East Gate without a means to barricade the gate. While the orc, the most immediate danger was gone, there was still the rest of the Eurosian army rushing the gates.

"My lord! A SKELETON?" Kira screamed as she saw the skeleton of Alderin amble past her to take out some of the enemy soldiers. It couldn't take out all of them though.

The enemy was in. In the city. Battle had just gotten a lot harder without destroying part of the city.

----

"They're in, sir."

"Good. Breach and have the ones we've designated look for the sign."

"Yes, sir."

"To think that today is the farthest we've made into this city in an outright attack. Interesting."
