Elnara's eyes lit up, and she turned to Lore, smiling widely.
"Really?" she asked, hardly daring to believe it. "You would be allowed to do that? I mean ... you're the head librarian, wouldn't you need to be there?"
As much as she would love to have him home more often, she didn't want him to get into trouble ...

"I would probably need to adjust my hours for the examination times, but otherwise...." Lore shrugged, "As head librarian my work for the library itself is to keep the books and see about replacing or buying new ones, as well as arranging any events. That can be all done in the morning, the rest of it is research, which I can easily bring home."
That was the main thing, he could bring them home if he needed to, it was just he never had a reason to do so before.

Elnara giggled and hugged Lore with her free arm, pressing her face against his chest.
"Is it any wonder why I love you so much?" she beamed up at him. "You really are so wonderful."
Garrick meanwhile took advantage of the proximity and grabbed a fistful of his father's hair, stuffing it into his mouth and chewing on it with a grin.

Lore was about to say something but paused the moment he felt a tug, he looked down and chuckled as he tried to save his hair from Garrick's mouth. It was already too late, but he could at least hope that he managed to save some of it from being sobbered on.
"Well, I don't want to miss out on everyone for lengths at a time."

Garrick let Lore's hair slip from his fingers and decided instead that he would chew on his own hair, which by now was almost down to his chin.
"Especially as the twins are both going to be going through their most important stages soon," Elnara mused, prying Garrick's hair out of his mouth and letting him chew on her finger instead. "Walking ... teething, first words ..."
She wondered how easily they would learn to speak. When Lore was home, she always spoke English, since it was more natural for him ... but when he was gone she always spoke to the children in Elvish, hoping that they would learn it as well.

"And then seeing all the trouble they could get into after that,' Lore chuckled.
He checked Hana, and she seemed more interested in blowing bubbles with her saliva than anything else.
"At any rate it's even a better reason for me go come home earlier."

Elnara giggled. "Any reason for you to be home is fine by me," she grinned at him.
Garrick yawned then, and his hair slipped out of his mouth. He replaced it with his fist and lay his head against Elnara's chest, sucking his fist and looking at Lore and Hana.
"And we'd best hurry and get these two to bed," Elnara said softly, placing one hand on Garrick's back and holding him close.

Lore agreed, that would be for the best. So it was that the twins were set down for their nap allowing Elnara and Lore to spend some quiet time in their room together. It was just simply nice to be able to spend time together in their room without any worries, or at least not as many worries as they would back home.
Quiet time though past not only quietly but quickly as well as the sun's position showed that it was almost time for dinner, which also meant the twins would probably be waking up soon.

When the twins had fallen asleep, Elnara had sat down on the bed with the intention of just chatting with Lore and perhaps reading a book, but it had not been long before she herself had fallen asleep as well. Now she was lying asleep, hugging her pillow to herself as she slept. Her expression was peaceful, so different from when she had first met Lore.
Garrick was the first one to begin to stir (as usual), and after tensing and untensing his arms and legs a few times, he let out a little whimper, a quiet promise of the wails to come.

Lore ended up reading, it had been a good time to read after all. The twins were asleep and Elnara was close even though she too was asleep. His ears picked up the sound of Garrick whimpering. He set his book down and got off the bed, making his way over to Garrick. Up the little boy went into his arms.
"There, there... I'm here."

Garrick curled up in a ball in Lore's arms, rubbing his eyes and sniffling a bit. He yawned, and then suddenly he sneezed, hitting his head on Lore's collarbone. Instead of crying, though, he just whimpered a bit and stuffed his fist in his mouth and began to suck on it.
His pants, however, were rather wet, and he kept fidgeting with his legs, feeling rather uncomfortable.
Elnara began to stir, her brow furrowing slightly. Her eyes however remained closed, and when she didn't hear anything further she fell back into a deeper sleep.

"Uh oh.. someone needs a change," Lore murmured thoughtfully.
He made his way over the baby bag, the bag that held all baby things needed including changings. First he needed the change pad, which was a blanket like thing only one side was a sheet of plastic for easily cleaning while at the same time could be folded easily back into the bag. Then of course the cloth diapers, while it meant they had to be cleaned for other reasons they were preferred, especially travelling here.
"Now..." he murmured as he set Garrick down, "Let's hope it's just wet."
He helped Garrick out of his pants and began to change the diaper.

Garrick's eyes were only half open as Lore set out to change his diaper, and he kept sucking on his fist while Lore worked. But his green eyes were fixed on his father, watching his every movement, and from time to time he yawned, almost threatening to fall asleep again.
And then Hana began to wake up. But instead of making noise, she sat up and rubbed her eyes, then peered through the bars of the crib at Lore, watching him and her brother silently.

"There we go...." Lore murmured.
He realized belatedly he had no clue where to put the dirty diaper now that the clean one was on Garrick. Did they remember to bring a small hamper or something so they could put it in, or a tub to soak it in?
Lore rummaged around and to his relief there was a small soak tub in the bag for soiled diapers and clothes, and since it was all wet and nothing else he put the pants in there as well. Along with the wet and soiled washcloth he used to clean Garrick off.
"Now that's done, will you go back into your crib while I clean up?" Lore inquired softly of his son as he picked the babe up again to put back into the crib.

When Garrick saw that Lore was bringing him back towards the crib, his fists closed tightly around handfuls of Lore's robes and he started to cry again. He did not want to go back there - not in the least.
Hana crawled to the edge of the crib and pulled herself to her feet, holding onto the bars and watching Lore and Garrick. "Bah!" she said, sticking one arm between the bars and reaching for the two of them.
The commotion was starting to get to Elnara, and she opened her eyes slowly and looked around. She smiled when she saw the others, and sat up slowly.
"Here," she murmured, holding her hands out to Lore. "He's probably hungry ... did you change him already?"
Going by his usual schedule, that would have been first thing to do after his afternoon nap.
