"I can put her in my windowsill then!" Rhea beamed. "There's lots of sunshine there, and in the winter, sometimes when I'm cold, it's nice to sit there and get warm with the sun!"

She giggled and headed back towards the house, walking carefully now, not wanting to endanger her new pet.

"That sounds like the ideal place," Cindy giggled, "And cats like the sun too, they tend to sunbath a lot."

At least the cats she knew tended to, she wasn't sure if that applied to Saki, though she was sure Saki did so as well.

"That's what Adonijah says," Rhea nodded seriously. "Well, at least that's what he sometimes says ... when he says anything at all."

She giggled. "He's real quiet. 'Cept lately he's been getting better. Since the winter started he's started talking to people at least a little bit."

They arrived back at the door, and she paused, hefting the pot in her hands. "Can you open the door for me?"

Opening the door for Rhea Cindy thought about what the little girl had just told her. It was true, it seemed Adonijah didn't talk all that much, but he was a shy person.

"I've noticed actually, or at least that's what I've been told as well. I've only met him once."

Rhea nodded and stepped inside ahead of Cindy. "Papa says he was always like that, right from when he was born."

She grinned up at Cindy once more. "That's a long time ago, too," she nodded, "but not as long ago as when Papa was little."

She made her way carefully to the stairs and up them, watching to see if Cindy was going to keep following her.

She was right behind Rhea, she wasn't just going to leave the girl now. Besides she was interested in the sort of interaction Rhea was going to have with the to be pet.

"Yes, that was a very long time ago when your father was little."

"Mmhm." Rhea wasn't quite paying attention anymore, too fixated on the pot she was carrying to do anything else.

When she got to her room, the door was already open, and she skipped inside, careful not to upset the pot.

"Riiiight there!" she beamed, setting it gently in the bright sunlight of the windowsill. She looked over her shoulder at Cindy, smiling brightly. "Do you think I should open the window?" she asked curiously. "So that she can have some fresh air?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 04, 2009 2:58 pm

"Well... I don't think fresh air will be an issue when she's in that form," Cindy admitted.

Granted she didn't know how her mother personally raised Wish, but she knew Saki was in the playroom, which was probably why the cat was planted there most of the time.

"Oh," Rhea blinked. "Then ... maybe when she blooms? Or should I wait a bit longer?"

And suddenly she realized just how little she actually knew about taking care of anything. Though the thought also came, what if when it did need air, she left the window open a bit for it and it fell out? From the second floor, that would be quite a fall, and she didn't want it to get hurt ...

"I think it would be best to wait until she drops her bloom, then she can go anywhere were you want to go," Cindy suggested lightly.

That would be the safest method and she too had considered the drop. Something that had never been worried about previously with other cats.

"Saki stayed in the playroom until she was no longer a plant," Cindy explained, "So it won't hurt for this one neither. Though she'll need a name."

Rhea looked thoughtful. "Shouldn't I wait until she's born to give her a name?" she asked seriously. "I want to give her a good name that means something about what she's like."

And she wanted to make sure it would be a good name that the cat would like, if she was going to be a talking cat then she wanted to be especially sure that she would pick a good name.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 04, 2009 5:44 pm

"That is true, it would probably be for the best," Cindy thought about it, "Saki had been named before she was born, but then again, I think only mother knows what Saki means."

So it didn't matter overly that much to begin with.

Rhea was quiet, thoughtful for a moment, and then she looked up at Cindy and asked in a very quiet voice, "What language is Saki's name from? It doesn't sound like any of the languages that I know ..."

Perhaps a slight resemblance to one of them, but generally ... no ...
PostPosted: Sun Jan 04, 2009 6:18 pm

"It is Japanese, I believe," Cindy replied, "I'm not as fluent in it as my other siblings."

Though she did relatively well in it, she just hoped she would do better in her elvish learning than she did in that.

"How many languages do you know?" Rhea asked curiously, pulling out her chair and sitting down in it to watch her teacher and still be close to her new pet at the same time. "And what lands are they from?"

She knew all the languages that her mother knew (which was all of them) and she could tell where most of them came from - but not all of them.
