After Celebor had managed to eat something (sadly only a few bites, nothing else would go down) he rose to his feet and looked down at Donovan.
"So I guess we go find Celeborn now?" he asked, straightening his tunic.

"I'll come with you," Elrohir offered, rising to his feet as well.
"Me, too!" Ahren said eagerly, jumping off the bench.
Haradhel grabbed his collar, jerking him to a stop. "Oh no you don't," she said firmly, planting him back on the bench. "You're not leaving the table until you've finished all of your breakfast."
Ahren sat obediently, but he glared at his plate evilly. It had taken him a while to finish the candy Lin had given him, so he still had a lot more than anyone else left to eat.
Elrohir personally thought it was a good thing, it meant the boy couldn't try sneaking after them again.

Kara turned, getting up slightly to kiss Donovan on the cheek. Since after all, it was going to be a while until she would get to see him again.
"Don't do anything rash," she told him firmly.

Lin waved at Celebor and her father as she finished her own meal, "Be good!"
Though what they would have to be good for was beyond anyone.
"Rash? Never," Donovan murmured as he got up to go, "Thanks Elrohir, things should be ready."

Celebor smiled and turned to leave the dining room, picking up his bag as he left the ranch house altogether. He waited for the others on the deck, taking a deep breath and enjoying the peace of the morning.

Celeborn was already out in the yard, waiting for the other two, two riding horses and one cart and horse ready and waiting as well. There were many bags on the cart, and piles of blankets, everything they could possible need for their trip, except the things that Celebor and Donovan were bringing along for themselves.
He wasn't alone while he was waiting: he was with Shael, who was now a striking young woman, as tall as Donovan, perhaps a bit taller, with warm eyes and a friendly smile, and luxurious black hair that fell, loosely bound, to her ankles. She was slim now, instead of thin, but she had filled out nicely, and she gave off such a feminine air that it was hard to believe she was once the rough-and-tumble child they had rescued so many years before. As always, she still dressed in a blouse and long skirt, but for the first time in a very long time, she was without a crutch.

"I'm sure..." Kara sighed a bit as she watched Celebor go.
"Bye bye Grandpa," Miyu murmured with a small wave.

Donovan chuckled giving Kara a quick kiss in return before heading out, knowing that Elrohir would follow. The former assassin (though one had to wonder how former it was in a job like this) grabbed his bag on the way out.

Elrohir followed after Donovan, and as he left the room Ahren sighed again and stabbed at his breakfast.
"So Celeborn tells me this should be among the easier hunts," Elrohir commented to Donovan as they headed out. "I bet that makes you feel better about it being Celebor's first."

"Don't stab it, it's already dead," Lin told him quite plainly.
Now that she was finished her breakfast she wanted to do something, but it was probably too early to do anything at the moment. Especially since her Mommy was still eating.
Donovan thought about it, "To be honest.... yea. I've always kind of guessed that the hunts would become a testing ground to see if bodyguarding or something like that is the kind of life the kids with fighting experience would want, but this is the first time I'm actually going to do that, and I hadn't expected it to be with Celebor."

"With Triton, perhaps? Or Yue or Yukito?" Elrohir guessed, naming the only sons of Donovan that he knew were grown. "Still, it is a relatively safe way of finding out, pitting them against small groups, rather than a group of the size we had encountered the first time."
He led Donovan outside, where Celebor was waiting, and waved to Celeborn and Shael.
"I still find it hard to believe that so many would come only after Daeron," he added.

Celeborn was the one facing the small group, and only after he waved did Shael turn to look. When she saw the three of them standing there, a bright smile lit up her face and she waved eagerly to them as well. She turned briefly back to Celeborn before heading over to join the three.
As she walked, she was still limping - but her limp was barely noticeable now, much harder to see as she walked over to them.
"Hello, Donovan, Celebor," she smiled brightly as she reached them. "Celeborn said you were looking for me yesterday, I'm sorry I wasn't around."

"The Mers once they were adults," Donovan replied simply before turning to Shael.
He had to kind of give a small smile to Shael, she had indeed grown and in some ways it was quite hard to believe. However there she was, and walking very well too from the looks of it.
"That's quite alright, besides it's not like I tell people ahead of time I'm arriving."

Shael laughed softly, clasping her hands in front of herself. "If there were a way to manage it," she replied, her eyes sparkling, "I'm sure you would do so."
She paused for a moment as if examining him, her head tilting slightly to one side, and then she smiled again.
"I still find it so amazing that you are exactly the same every time you come here," she murmured. "You are human ... and yet ... at times you seem more."

Well now that he thought about it, Shael was a young woman now, and not a little girl. So the passage of time was becoming very obvious now. He wondered if there was any way to terrify the slavers with that quality of his resulting from the two worlds.
He looked down at himself, "Well to be honest Shael, to me I haven't been at this for a year yet. You're going to have to wait a great deal longer to find changes to my person."
