Seeing Synge hop up suddenly was quite a stir for Ben, so much so that he almost dropped his lit cigarette. He managed to catch it and sit it in the ashtray.

Woah! Easy there Synge! You're fine, I just put you on the couch instead of the chair where you fell asleep.

(( Hehe, yeah, she is a lot tougher cookie than you! mrgreen ))

Ben waves his hand dismissively, and takes another drag off his smoke.

Oh no don't worry about it but man you are a heavy sleeper...I jostled you pretty hard when I got you out of the chair, I was afraid you might have woken up but you didn't. Heh, that couldn't have been a comfortable place to sleep.

He breathes another internal sigh of relief, evidently he was able to think quick on his feet...or his bum in this case.

Yeah but it was just...I don't know...all crumpled and twisted in in some way...looked more like some weird kama sutra position. Heh...anyway, don't worry about it, I got some pancake batter if you would like some pancakes. I actually cooked something else!

Uhh...yeah, sure.

Ben seems completely clueless that the outfit you were wearing looks anything less than normal but considering he was male which naturally decreases his ability to choose fashions, this was none too surprising.

When you return downstairs, Ben looks over at you in your non sleeping clothes and nods. He then gets out of his chair and heads toward the kitchen.

Sure, I will make you two and if you want more I will make some more.

With that being said, he opens the fridge, produces a bowl with a white mixture in it and pours it onto a hot griddle, the high-end kitchen's stove happened to have just that. Within a few seconds, the griddle has two circles of white mix on it and less than 5 minutes later, Ben returns with the pancakes and a bottle of syrup.

There you go.

He hands it to you and returns to his smoke, re-lighting it and taking another drag. He shook a little ash off his shirt that had gotten on it when he produced the snubbed cancer stick, not wanting to get his new clothes too dirty.

When you say this, Ben cocks his head to the side slightly and seems completely perplexed.

Huh? What do you mean? another hit?

Ben laughs lightly at this. She even said "Ben's cooking".

Well, since you said Ben's cooking, I assume you mean me...and I fully admit my cooking...well...it pretty much sucks unless it's basic. I hired a cook but have never seen her cooking save one night. Well anyway, I have more pancakes for you if you want me to make some more.

Oh she was? Hmm, I wish I would have caught her but yeah, the cake is good, I was about to have a slice of it...I tasted the batter so I knew it would be good.

Ben finishes his smoke, grabs a glass of milk and approaches the cake. He then takes a knife, cuts a slice of cake out and begins eating it. He smiled broadly as he tastes the strong chocolate goodness.

Heh...yeah, that's pretty darn good! I knew the batter was good but this is even better.

He eats another bite and then stays silent for a moment after you ask your question. He takes a drink of his milk.

Well...I have mostly been back at home shopping. Hence why I have these clothes instead of my old ones. Granted, I had several of the same clothes but this is a bit fresher and less restricting. Other than that, I spent some time trying to drum up business at the local fisherman's wharf but no luck...
