"I'm a she, you b*****d!" Liz could hear Tex say over the comm. "Yeahhhhh..... don't do that again. Take heed of the warning, it's for your own good." Liz said, feeling sorry for Johnson if he ever said that again.

Alison pulled a face.
"Oi. I said I was sorry, didn't I? No one told me there was goin' t' be bastards on our side. I see a Jakal, I pop it. That's what I'm payed t' do. How many times do I have have t' apologize f' it?"
She glanced back towards Shinta.
"You want him down in the informer with the others? I'm sure the medics and docs can take one more."
The gunny shifted from one foot to another, anxious to get off the cold floor. She could feel the freezing press of the emptiness through the titanium and plexiglass of the ship's hull. It was the type of cold that sunk deep into your bones and chilled your core, making all of you cold. It always made her feel like she was the only one left, even if she was surrounded by her friends and battle mates.
Atridies did not like space much; she'd rather have been on a planet surrounded by a horde of slavering Covenant all alone then on an interstellar war vessel. 'Well, with Sara for sure by my side. Maybe Nadab as well.'

"Sorry, Johnson, but we're just coming out of it now. Sorry to ruin all of your fun." Liz said as the ship reappeared into existance. "And yes, that would be a good idea, Ali. And go get some boots on, before you get a cold." Liz said.

Alison sighed, and rubbed her eyes tiredly.
"Damn. And here I was hoping f' a few hours of shut eye. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?"
She gave Liz a crooked smile, before turning to Shinta.
"Come on, big boy. We're goin' down t' the doc's home."
Grunting good naturedly, the strong marine lifted him up in a fireman's hold and leaves the bridge, heading for the infirmary.
"Get him patched up, doctors. Liz wants Shinta ready t' fight by the time we're comin' up f' dockin'."
They nodded and Alison left to go get dressed once more.

Tex went to where her team was located and brought them all (except for Terrance, who was wheeled to the infirm by a doctor) to the bridge, along with the bomb that the enemy fleet planted on the ship to destroy it, her leading them so that the rest of her team* wouldn't get killed.
*All of Tex's teammates are captured Covenant soldiers and are as followed: One Grunt, three Elites**, one Jakal (captured during one final assault on their position), and a Hunter.
**Two of the Elites are captured, the other is a clone in forest camo armor. One of the Elites is a veteran, in red armor, the other is a Fleet Master.

"It will be a while now, so you can buy something when we get to our rooms." Liz said as Tex's team walked in, followed by Private Anderson and the rest of the Marines that Liz brought along on the missions.

Nadab grinned as he walked in as well, TSR balanced at a jaunty angel on his shoulder, almost like it was the barrel to an MG placement.
"I'm gonna buy a 'hog, so I can make love t' Ally in the backseat of it, like she should be treated. An' when we're done, she'll get the gun, an' I'll take the wheel, an' watch out covie's!"
He laughed, and switched his weapon from one shoulder to the other. Nada scratched at his arse with his free hand. Battle armour got itchy, and Nadab's armour in particular looked like it had a love affair with it. The Sergeant looked to Tex.
"What're you goin' t' buy, darlin'?"

Alison Atridies dropped into stride with Johnson.
"Sleep? No sleep for the battle men, no suh."
She laughed.
"Who needs sleep when you have Space? You want a hit?"
The gunny offered the private a small tube, filled with tiny, amber crystals. To the crew men, and soldiers alike, it might well have been gold, with fags as silver; their actual pay came in at a lowly copper. Alison pulled her arm back a few centimeter's though.
"Wait, you off duty yet?"
